Finding the Sun (Canine RP)

(( Woah, woah, woah. MoonSong. Why were you roleplaying Luna? That's my character, 'yo. D: I mean, I'm not mad, I just would prefer you stuck to your own characters in the future. I'm honestly not upset. I'm rather mellow like that. ))

Luna sat and licked the ebony black blood from her muzzle and claws, panting all the while. Generally she didn't like showing signs of weakness, but she had just sprinted and murdered a demon bear. That took a lot of energy, even to her. She nodded in response to Ayet's praise and listened as he spoke. Breathing deeply, her thoughts wandered to where the lair might be, wondering where such a place could be found. It sounded like a tunnel could access it, but that was somewhat obvious. She lay in the bloodstained grass, her head resting on her paws, taking in long, sharp breaths, not participating in any sort of conversation. But then again, that was only to be expected from Luna.

Cloudburst walked up to Ayet. Speaking softly, she said "Ayet, I noticed earlier about the abundance of demons around here and I've been scouting all day for a new place for camp. I think I've found a good area. It's secluded, has a good water supply and plenty of spaces to spread out and find a sleeping space." I think I should probably show it to you tomorrow. It's a little far away."

Brillo had also heard the cry of "Help!" and had run to see if he could do just that. When he arrived, most of the pack was already there and the demon was dead. But then he saw Haru crouching by a tree and walked over to console his shivering friend. "You okay?" He asked. "It's alright, it's all over now. Your pack is here to protect you, and you're here to fix us up when we do that. Speaking of which, it looks like River and Luna might need your help." He cracked a smile, hoping Haru would return it.

Ayet nodded at Cloudburst, thinking about this. "Yes, I'd like that. In a while, will you show me? Once everyone rests a little bit, perhaps..." Ayet answered, not really sure how far away tomorrow was. He looked around, hoping they'd get a break for a while before another demon showed up. Unsure of where to go next, Ayet decided to turn his attention to the problem at hand: where do they go next? Somewhere deep within the Earth.... Where could that be? Then the thought occurred to him; maybe if he inspected the demon's bodies, they would lead to clues.

Ayet made his way to the bear. One red eye... And black blood. The male sniffed the body, and wrenched back. The horrid smell of rotting corpses, blood, and musty, dampness filled his mind. He forced himself to continue, ignoring the smell as it slowly took over his nostrils. Placing a paw on the body, he felt it was extremely cold; like ice. So, was he looking for somewhere musty, damp and cold? Sounded like a cave to him. But, this was only one body. He would need to verify that most demons had these same features; foul smell, and the cold body temperatures. Satisfied with his discoveries for the moment, Ayet moved away from the demon and sat, staring up at the moon and trying to think of where they would find Death. If he was the supreme ruler of darkness and the deceased, where would he make his home?

Haru flinched, his terrified eyes fixed on Brillo as he backed away. The darkness made him look like another demon. I'm seeing things! Haru scolded himself, and stepped forward again, his gaze softening. "Sorry," he murmured, forcing a smile, "I'm just spooked." he shook off his case of shivers and padded forward, sniffing among his pack mates. He saw that some had wounds. His mind drew a blank. Ugh! What kind of healer am I?! Not a healer! I should be a warrior! he realized that he was clearly sulking and wiped the expression from his face. "Er..." he said to himself. Pine bark for aching joints... what's for wounds? Wild cherries? No. Lamb's ears? No. What is it, what is it, what is it? Oh! I remember! Mint... and and... ugh... Cattail to stop the bleeding, but there's none of that around here... Um.. cobwebs and feathers, yeah... Haru's eye continually twitched as he forced himself to remember. Sighing, he sprinted off in search of herbs.

"Ayet!" Myst barked as the pack came into view. A slash mark ran down his face, but other than that he was fine. He noticed Haru struggling with himself and smiled a bit. "Hey," he began, "this place has demons like the plague. Where are we?" he questioned seriously. He'd taken out more than enough demons around here. The pack must've all had encounters with them judging by all the red and black blood smeared over their furry bodies. He imagined that he looked the same.

August quickly followed behind Myst, glad to see the rest of the pack. A demon bear lay fallen, and the she-wolf quickly assumed that it had been the reason everyone was gathered together. Delicately stepping around everyone, August reached the bear and looked in what was left of its face. Did Death send this one specifically? she wondered, If so, its only brought the pack closer together... That doesn't seem like such a bad thing... Sighing, she looked up at the sky, at the cold, hard moon that provided very little light. Her paws itched to run across the Sun-soaked land again, and August knew that the most important thing in her life right now was to support Ayet and his cause. She walked back over the others and sat down, waiting to see what they would be doing.

Toko went over to Ayet, bending his head down so that he could speak without the others hearing. "What are we going to do?" he asked, "You've seen how it is, there are more demons around than ever before, I killed a demon squirrel on my way over here, a squirrel." His head jumped up when he heard a strange roar off in the distance, but then he put it right back down again towards his friend, "We need to move now Ayet, and we need to move fast if we want to avoid these monsters."

[[ @Skitzy: They are currently in a forest-type place, infested by demons. The demons usually (when just normal, unnamed ones) will have black blood and empty sockets for eyes. They resemble animals, such as the demon bear and demon fox Ayet has encountered so far; though some can have slight differences (the fox had saber-teeth). Ayet is currently trying to figure out where they should go next, and has taken to inspecting the demon's bodies for clues. So far he's found very little, except that they smell musky (with the added bonus of rotting corpses) and their body temperatures are fairly cold. Still, that was only the bear, others could offer contradicting clues (aka I might change my mind ^^;) I believe the whole pack is around the demon bear now, but will soon be moving.

@Peng: I'd like it if you elaborated a little on the characters personality or history; but I understand if you have writers block or something. I read a few of your previous roleplay posts, and you're literate enough.

ALSO: I am letting Horse_Lover in for now; because they are very persistent Just try to do 4-5 sentences per post and I'll be happy. Most are doing more than that, though. Which I love ^^ ]]

Ayet nodded to August and Myst as they came into view. He gave one more scanning of the area before answering. "I'm not quite sure where we are... Maybe we're close. Or Death is just getting annoyed with us." The male smiled at the thought that they might be getting under a god's skin. Though if that was true, then there was much worse to come.

Hearing the roar in the distance, Ayet contemplated where they would go next. He leaned over to Toko, also lowering his voice. "I'm... Not sure. There must be somewhere safe around here, somewhere that would keep the demons at bay. Perhaps somewhere light; maybe by water..." The male then remembered Cloudburst, and looked around for her. "Cloudburst, I think it's time you lead us to that clearing you mentioned before."

((Yes I had writer's block and thanks for accepting me, :3. Here is stuff about Fern:
Personality: She is modest but smart and knows when you're using her. She is mostly straight forward with things and won't beat around the bush. In situations where most wolves would panic and do something rash, Fern is calm and wiggles her way around with words. (I don't know why, but she reminds me of Aesop...)

History: Born in a pack with everything plentful, Fern never had a thing to worry about. It wasn't until one day, when another pack came into their territory, she really knew what the world was like. She has never recalled to anyone what happened that night, but ever since that event, she has always been prepared and is almost never surprised.

Stuff on Cassandra:
Personality: She is one of those 'tough to get' girls. Boys have to really charm her to get to her heart. Always up for a challenge, Cassandra constantly laughing and smiling. She is a real joy to be around and it is hard not to smile at her sillyness. She loves to hunt and will do so with great precision.

History: As a pup Cassandra had a hard life. Her mother, a bad alpha, was constantly flirting with other males even if she was alpha female. Cassandra, daughter to the Alpha himself, was always alone with no one to play with. The Alpha and his daughter kept each other company and Cass grew attached to her father. One day, her mother mated with the enemy alpha and the Alpha died of grief. The alphess had a pup and the Alpha's pack was enraged. The two sides met in battle and blood spilled to the ground. A loyal servant carried Cassandra away and now here she was, looking for the sun. (Nobody knows it, but her half-brother is still alive. I might add him later.)

Haru came springing back to the pack, a bundle of herbs and cobwebs in his jaws. Daisy petals and mint slathered onto wounds to prevent infection. Cobwebs to stop the bleeding and seal the poultice into place. he recited to himself in his mind. Quickly, he got to work, chewing up the daisy and mint and mixing it into a poultice. "Okay guys!" he called, "Whoever has wounds please come up to me!" he sat there wagging his tail.

He's growing. Myst smiled to himself, then heard the far off roar. "Ugh, demons, when will Death learn that those don't work on us." he grinned and shook his head. Padding up, he sat in front of Haru, allowing him to treat the scrape on his face. "Thanks." he nodded to the young healer, then padded up beside Toko and Ayet. "So we'll move as soon as Haru's finished his work?" he questioned.
