The puppies looked like they had such potential, like they could grow into something really cool-looking.
And they grew up into exactly what they looked like they would grow up into.
That just seems to boring to me, like at least not make the puppies look exactly like the parents?
I don't know, just seems like a lot more could have been done with them.

Personally, I think it's charming that they've grown into what they looked like without major changes. I thought the design showed promise, as they did, and I sometimes get disappointed when the adults are drastically different. Is it bad when they're majorly different? Nah, they always suit someone, and the designs are normally nice. But I think it's refreshing to see the designs last, and have some pups with a more relaxed not-so-busy feel to them. :) And, I think these changed just enough to put finishing touches and polish on the adults. Just my humble opinion. ^.^

(And not trying to discourage your opinion, Noleah, just sharing my own perspective in comparison to what you've shared. :)

I agree with you, Flitter ^__^
Sometimes I'm really disappointed when the adult dog looks a lot different than the puppy stage. It often happened that I loved a more simple design of the puppy but could not really like the busy design of the adult.

However, I absolutely love all of those 3 dogs.
The colors are pretty, and I like it when they look so shiny.

This.
Sometimes less is more. Generally I've nothing against puppies looking different than adults, but it varies on a case-to-case basis, depending on the final (adult) version.
I had this problem with last month's punctuation litter - the puppies looked pastel-y and simple, and I was unpleasantly surprised with the garish, overly busy adults.

Speaking just of this litter, I love it. It makes me think of sweet cakes as well, and the tiny white bits make them look as if they're sprinkled with sugar. ^^

Parents? They aren't second gens, they're from this blanket.

Personally, I adore the brown dog. *-* It looks like it has cape made of powdered sugar mixed with cocoa on its back. And the beads look like tiny pendants. It's my favourite outcome so far, but it might change when husky puppy grows up.
We'll see. 8D

Soooo another viewpoint:

I no longer watch my pets like a hawk to see when they grow, so I usually don't see the pets in their middle stages very often xD As a result, I always love the adults, regardless of what they looked like in their middle stages :3

Main reason I don't watch my pets that often?

I remember in October 2009, I was so disappointed with these guys:

In my opinion then and now, they looked so awesome with their soft colors as puppies. And then when they grew up, I didn't like them at all because they were too dark and either too bright or too dull. By now, they've grown on me a bit, but I still don't like them very much because they changed so much in my eyes xD

Even this past June, when I wasn't watching my pets that often, I was rather startled at how these guys had turned out:
Image
I liked their adult stages very much, but I didn't like how they had drastically changed from their puppy stages xD (my first thought: '... where the -censor- did those stripe-things come from...' -coughs-)

So now, I just take what I get, admire the puppy stages a bit in the archives and every few days or so, and either love or dislike the adults based NOT on their puppy stages, but on my own personal taste (and as such, I'm pretty sure I don't voice out my dislikes that often xD)

Like this guy:
Image
I kinda like him and I kinda don't; I really do not like seeing 'eyeshadow' on the pets if it covers a wide range and if it's a very different color from the rest of the face. His nose bothers me since it's the same color as most of his face. ^^ But I absolutely LOVE the gradient on his shoulder, and his eyes are pure win.

recessive genes. ;)

He probably got it from one of the uncles/aunts. While the two parents are bobtails, there are long tailed otucomes in both litters. I actually wasn't surprised to see a long tail in the 2nd gen litter because of this. X3

Since we're on the topic of it, I'm a fan of 'surprises' on pets -- surprise adult markings/colors is what first got me hooked on the site back in 2008. While I admit that some changes I liked, some changes I didn't, I still enjoy seeing the creative process of the artists on the pets. There are some pets I prefer that stay the same, some I wish changed, but if I didn't like a particular litter I'd be sure anyway to like something eventually. <3
when first i appear i seem mysterious
but when explained i'm nothing serious

I happen to agree. While the "business" of some pet designs is good, I got rather bored of it and this subtlety is a welcomed change. If you want flare, why not send a suggestion or post it on the thread they have for ideas? I think we coule, possibly, have a new litter or a 3rd Gen that sports rainbows and fireworks, but that might be just a bit too "much" flare. ;)

Personally I love them, I feel like all our designs lately are too busy. I was hoping they'd stay simple and they did. <3
