I just have the gravel from the pet store, it's blue and white, nothing fancy. I really want a catfish, but I don't have the rounded gravel for one. What do you think would add color to my tank? I'm looking for either small(1 inch max) schooling fish or a few 2-3 inch fish that do well without schooling. I was thinking a few galaxy rasboas, but they are hard to find.

My smallest apple snail gave me a heart attack this morning...I forgot to put a screen I have for the tank back on and I found it on the floor this morning! I put her in my .5 gallon tank I have that I use to do water changes and left her there while I went to class, around 5 hours, and she's perfectly fine and back in the tank!
Also I gave my snails a green bean, I have ones that we grew in our garden over the summer that are all natural, and they're attacking the thing! I think they like it a lot more then lettuce.
I also bought Peeta that little treat tray from Petsmart that they have for betta's and its great! It comes with freezedried bloodworms, mysis, and daphnia. I gave him the mysis this morning and he loved it! He's only getting one of the treats, and by one I mean a single peice, every other morning so he doesn't become a pic ^_^

Got my new baby Blue Acara <3 I had to move my Kribs to the 30 gallon so now my stocking is A pair of Kribs, A female (possibly) Blue Acara, a trio of platy fish, and a shoal of cory cats.
I also added a few new hides to the tank. I got little drinking glasses and buried them under the sand so only the opening is visible. I stacked and made two rock hides and then dug out a pit under a large flat rock. Since Kribs are cave-dwellers they are really loving the places and have explored all of them. I'm seriously thinking about keeping the tank as a cichlid-only and moving my platy and cory cats to the 29 gallon when I get a new heater.. >_> I think a pair of key-hole, cockatoo's, or Rams would complete the tank really nicely.
Honey, it's in the stars
And you're my everything from here to Mars
And every word I say I truly mean
Dear darling, I hope I'm being clear
'Cause there's no one like you on earth
That can be my universe

So Kaiden died....he was the second fish I ever got. His slime coat was coming off so I added stress coat and cleaned his water. All he did was lay on his side and come up to eat at night. I wish I could have said goodbye..... I loved him so so so much. He was such a beautiful fish! Here's a pic of him last year, when he used to live in a bowl.
http://fuzzythepunkcat.deviantart.com/g ... 2#/d58luxw He spent all of this year in his 2.5 gallon filtered tank. I decided that I'm gonna clean his tank and then to honor him, instead of letting his tank sit there for days with no fish, and since my other Bettas all have the same tank and don't need his, I'm gonna go rescue a betta tonight. All the time at petsmart I see Bettas that just lay there like they have no will to live, but when you move the cup they are very much alive. I felt bad at first, like it was too soon, but why let other Bettas die when I could give one the chance to live and save its life?

So I got a betta with fin rot bad, it still a lot of Spirit. I am naming him Dallas.
In other news, Lunar seems to have a little white peice of something on his neck. It's so tiny (not a worm) that I can't tell whether it's a broken scale that peeled or if it's like a fungus. I'm gonna wait and see what it does before I medicate him for something he may or may not have

Are you positive they are dead? Are they hanging out of their shell limp? They may just be in shock or really scared. I've had applesnails take a day or two just to peak their tentacle out.
