We are still searching for the elusive Tiddly Winks and her plaguing every Rune in sight. However, with the help of the Plumage Runes we have seen a decrease in vampire attacks. Hopefully this bodes well in the end now that we are fighting back, but we have also come across another little hathcling in need of a good home. The Pumpkin Patch Rune is mainly found during the fall season when the large orange vegetables are growing to their fullest. These little Runes blend in well with the bright spheres and are exceptionally fluffy to keep out the cold winds at night. They love the celebrations of Halloween and tend to gather in fascination at the Jack-o-lanterns that line the streets. They are mesmerized by the glowing hollowed pumpkins and are often fed treats by the young children who pass them by. Extremely social dragons, they love human interaction and actively seek out their attention. This Rune is even known for it bright glowing eyes that light up at night and are a sight to see when in a group among the trees. For who can resist the fluffy orange goodiness that is a pumpkin patch Rune?

Dovleac is always looking to give someone a good laugh, be it at her expense or not. Due to some or her clumsiness, most of the humor she generates comes at her own expense. She doesn't mind though. However at some times, being as young and naive as she is, her humor may come across at inappropriate times to try and relieve tension and stress. This is not helpful, but she likes to think it might be some day.
Curious
Dovleac has a compulsive desire to investigate and learn; In other words, often times sticking her little nose where it doesn't belong. Her need to learn new things cannot be satiated, and she'll go out of her way to investigate something, even if its just a leaf on the ground. More than once this trait has gotten her into trouble, leaving her running back to friends or to the safety f the pumpkin she calls 'Momma'.

Through all of Dovleac's cute little habits and clumsiness, she can be rather mischievous and ornery at times. Most of the time, her orneriness comes through in her playful and upbeat lifestyle, however there are a few instances where she would easily sell another Rune out to avoid getting the blame for something she did; Much like a guilty child might do.
Short-sighted
Dovleac is short-sighted towards her actions, meaning she cannot see and think far enough ahead to relegate the effects to her cause, as well as the consequences that might befall her or others due to her own somewhat brash and child-like decisions. When reprimanded, she does not understand that she has done wrong.
Clumsy
This little girl is incredibly clumsy. Her habit of dancing about -more like flailing at this age- proves that one day she'll be graceful and light on her feet, but not today. Today shell trip over nothing if she's not careful, and fall right into the pumpkin patch on either her head or her poor little bum.

She's just sooo adorable and squishy! I want to cuddle her all day long! <3 I also have a love for everything pumpkin related, this little gal included. Pumpkin pie, pumpkin seeds, carved pumpkins, pumpkin chunking... The list goes on and on! Dovleac is amazing and I woudl love to have her as well, especially considering she is the Pumpkin Rune!

Any Quirks:

As her name implies, Dovleac is a dancer, or she would like to be. Every movement is makes is something she strives to make a fluid, dance like movement that is graceful. However, seeing as she is still just a baby, this little Rune can cause quiet the laughing riot when she fails in this dancing habit and ends up falling in a pile of leaves or candy instead of actually dancing. One day, she'll master this art and dance around the pumpkin patch, but not quite yet.

Fears:

Being very young, Dovleac has slight fears of many things. Those happen to include the dark, spiders, and tricks being played on her. Among these minor fears, she has major ones as well. She cannot be alone in a storm, lest she has a panic attack. An incident when she was young has caused this paralyzing fear in her, but she tries to put on a brave face and muscle through it. Another one of her more major fears is that of dogs. Even the sight of one sets her trembling. No one knows, but they think she may have been used as a chew toy when she was younger.

Story:

Without so much as a warning, Falsk shot away from me with a cheerful squawk. My eyes were wide as I watched her fly into a field full of pumpkins. Strangely enough, I had never heard that cheerful of a noise come from my Mirage Rune before, and it was rather startling. Either way, I broke into a large grin and picked up my skirts, following behind eagerly. With the smell of the autumn air, the crisp chilly winds and the crunchy leaves underfoot as well as decorated houses and venues promising All Hallow's Eve was near, there was a almost festive mood in the air for every one. In the daylight, one could almost forget about this horrible Vampiric outbreak among the Runes -which was why Piuma was locked away and not with us now- and just live a little.

Reaching the patch of orange squash, I looked down to see Falsk staring at a tiny Rune Dragon who seemed to be puffing itself up at my Mirage Rune. Giving an exhausted sigh -as this was not the first time that Falsk had upset another Rune Dragon- I got down on my knees to do damage control. Upon closer inspection, the little Rune was actually a baby, and was colored a yellowish orange with orange and yellow tufts of fur. This Rune was fluffy, and by its attitude, I assumed it was a she. She quickly fell backwards upon setting her sights on me with a hardly audible, high pitched squeak. Falsk definitely heard it though, as she cringed with an unpleasant look gracing her usually beautiful features.

The poor baby was flailing around on its back, trying to right itself. Giving a gentle laugh as she opened her mouth and cried out in both helplessness and frustration, I reached out with my hand and righted her so she stood on her two tiny sparrow-like feet. Without so much as a hand lick or squeak as thanks, she turned from my and flapped her tiny wings furiously, as if trying to make it off the ground. Both Falsk and I watched intently as her little wings beat fast, almost like hummingbird's wings. She finally made it off the ground, but she had yet to master the art of flying correctly. So instead of flying the entire way as she ran from us, she hopped from pumpkin to to pumpkin top , twirling as she went, like a clumsy young dancer might.

However, once again, she didn't make it very far.

Chuckling to myself and giving a small sigh I got to my feet and followed along after where the little babe had fallen. As I looked behind the pumpkin she had fallen behind, I saw the Rune acting like a child once again. She was laying on her stomach, legs splayed out behind her and her wings open over the ground as if she had tried catching herself. Pouting, she laid there in that position and blew her little curly tendril of mane out of her glowing eyes. Finally, she looked up at me in a pleading sort of way.

Reaching out I helped her to her feet, but before I could do much, she ran her way up my arm and attacked my large, wavy, dark brown hair. I just sat there, trying hard not to laugh as she got herself tangled up and hung there limply amongst my hair. Thankfully, she barely weighed anything, so it did not hurt when she moved around trying to break free. Her tiny, high pitched squeaks right in my ear did sting a little though. So I reached up and held her in the cup of one hand while I slowly untangled the wavy strands of dark hair from around her person.

When I took her out completely and she was no longer tangled, I held her out and she rested in the palms of my two hands as I examine her up close, my crimson eyes curious. In turn, her glowing orange and yellow eyes examined me. The baby seemed terribly interested in what I was thinking, and just to play with her, I blew a puff of air at her.

Startled, she flapped her tiny wings and fell backwards out of my hands. I tried to catch her, but I wasn't fast enough. Before I could help her, she was on her feet and squeaking at me. What she was saying didn't sound like it was very nice either. Smiling, I burst out laughing but that only seemed to make her more mad. Waving a wing at me her chirps gt louder before Falsk jumped in ad pushed the baby over with her head.

The baby Rune did not seem startled however, but more interested. Staring at Falsk intensely, the little baby Rune launched herself at Falsks head and just rested there, rubbing her cheek against the top of Falsk's spiky fur affectionately. Falsk turned to look at me with her black eyes and she just had this 'kill me now' look on her face. I smiled, shaking my head, saying, "Well Falksy... It seems she's here to stay."

Ella has a real sweet tooth and will always beg and plead for candy. She loves most candies and has a real soft spot for caramels and some sort of crunch, nutty chocolate. Though she doesn't care to much for bubble gum she will pretty much eat any candy that is give to her.

Ella tends to get distracted fairly easy. If she sees something that catches her attention she will walk over to it and check it out before getting caught up in something else and going to look at it. She tends to wonder a lot and when she is done she is lost and tend to panic till she finds me or one of the other runes.

Ella tend to sleep a lot during the day and enjoys to curl up in a scarf and sleep away the morning till late afternoon. She will lounge around as well and doze in and out but can never seem to stay asleep for an full day. She normally starts moving around and dragging her scarf around about 3, and is fully awake by 5 and ready to roam and check out the cottage for anything new.

Ella will use her cute, fluffiness and big eyes to tick you into giving her some sort of candy. Its almost like a power for her to make you swoon over her cuteness and give her all your yummy treats. Because of her love for candy she is always begging when I have some and I normally have to share before she starts to beg.

Though Ella tends to get in trouble for begging she tries to play innocent and act as though she did nothing. This normally makes me laugh for the fact that her acting is rather bag and I can tail by the some what guilty look on her face. She can never seem to keep a straight face when I start to accuse her of begging and she knows that I know.
{ Silly }
Ella can be quite the goofy little rune when it comes to her behavior. She loves to make faces and do silly thinks with her scarf like try to hide in it or climb into between the couch cushions with it. She is over all just to silly and cant take a moment in life serious if it deepened on her life.

Ella is just a very cheery and bubbly little rune always giggling and snickering at anything that may be kinda funny. She loves to laugh and loves to listen to jokes as well. She is always finding new things to giggle and laugh at.

Ella likes to think she is a know it all and when I tell her not to do something she normally ends up doing it and finds that she should probably have listen to me in the first place. She likes to think that she is all wise and mighty and dose as she pleases when she pleases.

Ella is a little bit flirty do to the fact that she is always trying to get candy. Even though she is a hatchling she is always cuddling up and being sweet trying to get any candy that you have on you at the times. Though she doesn't really flirt with hatchlings like she would with human on getting sweets.

Ella loves to sing and enjoy listening to music. She loves to have her feathers blow-dried by a hair dryer and will sing as she is being dried off. She also loves to sing and dance around when watching musicals or is a song comes on the radio. This is another reason why I would sat she is silly.

Ella is a very bouncy Hatchling and as she walks around she almost seems as if she is bouncing around as she walks. She also loves to jump on the couch and on the trampoline out side. She loves the feeling when she falls back down to earth and loves to to little ticks like a front flip while bouncing.

Ella is always cheery and its rare to see her sad unless you don't hand over your yummy treats. She is always smiling and making jokes along with her sweet laugh that can make others laugh as well. She Is always spreading cheer and trying to cheer others up when they are down and out.

She is always moving forward and planing on next halloween. Once Halloween is over she starts planing on next year and loves to work on her pumpkin carving skills. She also loves to look forward to the day after halloween when all the candy goes on sale. She loves to stock up on candy and have her own stash that no one knows about.

Ella is a very ticklish hatchling and when she is sad this is one way to put a smile back onto her face. She is very ticklish on her feet and under her wings and can also be ticklish on her sides and behind her ears if you try hard enough.

Why do you wish to have her:
I love this rune so much! She reminds me of the pumpkin patch where the fairy god mother picked out a pumpkin and turned it into a couch for Cinderella, This is also where I got the idea for her name.I loved watching that movie when I was little and i guess over all this rune just bring back so many fond and wonderful memories. I want her because of the fact that she is a sweet heart with a bit of a tricky side and I love how cheery and how bright she is.

I am dyeing for a halloween rune and this is the perfect rune for me! I am sorry i have not had time to poor over art to to college but I hope that why I want her will help me out! I love her with all my heart and this she is a cute sassy little girl that gives hugs all the time.

Ella loves Jello, its on of her favorite year around treat and loves to play with it and poke it. She is always giggling when she is eating aways and loves lemon jello the best! She loves to eat it with either no fruit of chunks of fruit in it and is not to picky as long as its jello. Its something about this wiggly and giggly aspect of jello the Ella find funny to enjoy.

Ella is a Scarf freak and loves to wrap up and doze away the day in one. She loves almost any kind of scare and has her own special scarf that she adores the most. Its a red blade scarf made from wool and has little fringes and the ends. She loves how she can wrap it around herself and how its not to much fabric to get lost in.

On halloween or when he get our jack-o-lanter ready ella likes to curl up inside by the candle and sleep the night away. She loves the smell of the pumpkin and the warm glow inside. { How I found Ella }

Who would believe me if I ever said I had found Ella in the grocery store? For strangely enough that is exactly where I ended up finding her. It was a couple of days before halloween and my and Ra where at the store picking out pumpkins. We would give them and good look over and where also picking smaller pumpkins for the rest of the runes to carve at home. By means that Orion was only bitting me and Ra at this time with his vampire illness we figured it would be no harm to bring him.

Me and Ra where shifting the pumpkins around as I kept a close eye on Orion. He was so looking forward to picking out pumpkins this year and along with all my runes being excited Orion was the most thrilled. It would have broken my heart not to take him along. So we continued our look for the biggest and brightest pumpkins we could fin till I herd a odd tapping noise. I looked over to where the sound was coming from and saw Orion tapping away on a pumpkin with his claw.

I walked over to him and picked him up asking "Is this the pumpkin you want?" and as soon as I have him eye level the kittle Demond bit me. "Hey!" I nearly shouted as I pried him off my finger and began to suck on it. Orion then went back over to the pumpkin and started to tap on it once again. After he stopped the tapping I stood their and waited, after a moment there was the tapping again but it came from the inside. I walked over and looked around the pumpkin before tilting it back gently to find a whole in the bottom where out of know where a little head poped out. I was shocked to find a rune in a pumpkin and with that the little girl climbed out to greet us and love on my shoes.

I giggled and watch as Orion lifted his wings and hissed at her. The little hatchling giggled and then looked at him with her big round eye and pouted at him. Orion confused slowly dropped his arms and tilted his head to the side and blinked confused. He looked up at my and looked back at the hatchling who had made her way closer to him and was hugging him. He was truly taken off gard and then looked up at me and wanted to cry because he wasn't being taken a scary vampire.


I laughed along with Ra and we put her pumpkin in the cart with the other and picked Orion and the little pumkin rune and put them in my shoulder. Orion then climbed on my head and sat there and i giggled once again. "Ra what do you think we should call this little pumpkin?" I asked and then looked at her "What about Ella, she kinda has marking like from the story Cinderella" He pointed out. I smiled and nodded "Little Ella"


{ Pumpkin Delights }

Ella's Pumpkin Bar Recipe
2 Cups all-porpouse Flower
1 tsp. backing soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp Powder Ginger
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
4 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
2 cup of sugar
1 15 oz. can solid packed pumpkin


Preheat oven to 350, Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ginger,cloves and nutmeg sit aside. In a separate bowl beat together the eggs, oil, sugar, and pumpkin. Gradually add the dry ingredient and blend well. Pour the batter into an ungreased jelly roll pan (17x12x1) and bake at 350 for 25-50 minute or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. You may also use a 9x13 pan and back for 25-30 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack and frost with cream cheese frosting.

Cream Cheese Frosting!
8 oz. cream cheese, soften
1/2 cup butter soften
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1TB milk
4 cups powder sugar.

Name: Dynia - its a Polish name acutally that means Pumpkin, which is perfect for this little one. Raven loves this name so now she can call her her little Pumpkin or Pumpkin baby whenever Dynia is having those cute little moments or Raven just feels a burst of sudden love for her little rune.

Little Dynia has been found to be really sociable and like a cat or puppy goes looking for others attention especially human attention. Children are her most favorite beings during the fall season. She likes to watch them in there customs as they recieve candy from others. She'll go up to them and the children will start petting her and hugging her giving her the attention she so desperatly wants all the time. Dynia might even get some candy from the kids before they walk away to continue on their candy hunt. Dynia's bearer Raven remindes her alot of a child and yet alot like her as well. Raven likes to pet her, hug her, play with her and other things all the time giving lots of attention as well as they both seek attention not only from each other but from others as well.

Curious:
Dynia has been known to be quiet a curious little rune sometimes. Something that seems interesting always gets Dynia's attention and she must find out about it in order to fullfill the void of curiousity. Objects arn't the only thing that interests her, places have her attention as well. If Raven and her were to go to some entirly new place Dynia won't rest till all the wonders of the place have been discovered.

Sugar Addicted:
Dynia's favorite time during the fall is halloween and the ability to get bags full of candy. She becomes addicted to any type of candy and goes into a sugar rush causeing some trouble to Raven since she'd be litteraly bouncing off the walls everywhere. This occurs from october to november which is all the candy she recieved lasts. The rest of the year isn't so bad since Raven's there to keep her sugar to a minimum.

Tree Hugger:
This little rune can be a bit of a nature freak somedays. She is protective of pumpkin patchs since she's always been fasinated by them and has grown up around them so has a bit of a link to them. She dislikes having any animals eating the pumpkins and often will chase them away in a hurry. For food or not Dynia's pumpkins are not to be touched, even Raven respects that.

Why do you wish to have her?:

I have been a big fan of pumpkins ever since i was little. I'd always around halloween ask to go to a pumpkin patch in order to pick out my own pumpkin. I'd spend quiet some time there looking for the best pumpkin in my eyes. My parents would have to remind me that we couldn't stay here all day. And in the end i'd sometimes leave the farm with more then one pumpkin. When i get home my dad and i would sit outside and carve away at the pumpkin to make one of those classical pumpkin smiles or something original. A couple of years back i actually found a tiny still growing pumpkin in my backyard and nurtured it till halloween when i decided to carve it. It didn't turn out so big but it was a good healthy medium sized pumpkin. This little rune remindes me of the good old days and actually kinda encourages me to do it again this year.

Where will you keep her?:

I've never owned a rune yet so i still have to discover all the possible ways to involve my first rune. If i do win her i will be signing up onto the website and see what all is there. I will also do rps, keep her in my signature, I learned about the rune club on DA so i'll involve her there and of cource either put her in my character page or make a thread entirely for her and the other runes i may own in the future.

Will i breed her in the future?:

Quirks:
During the Halloween/fall season when Dynia's addiction to sugar is high little Dynia will acutally gather her candy in a pile and hide it. Raven trys to cut her candy back but fails as she can never find Dynia's stash of candy. The little rune hides them in a jack-o-lantern that they both carved and set outside. The pumpkins always right under Raven's nose but who knows if she'll ever find it.

Story:

(About how Raven and Dynia first meeting)

It was a couple days to halloween and Raven sat on the porch of her house with a pondering expression on her face. She had everything ready for her favorite holiday, decorations, candy, a costum. But something was missing but she couldn't point out what. She looked around her house till the problem hit her brain hard. She had forgoten to go out and buy a pumpkin! How she could have forgotten was beyond her but she could be a little forgetful. It was part of being human after all. Raven raced out to the pumpkin patch that lived closeby.

Once she arrived she imediatly went about searching through the best pumpkin in her eyes. Soon she found a flawless medium sized bright orange pumpkin. She picked it up and took it over to the owner of the patch setting both her pumpkin and her small back she brought along down to pay the man. Picking everything back up and heading out she hardly felt the change of weight of her small bag.

Coming home Raven got a carvers knife and headed outside sitting down on the porch with the pumpkin and setting the bag aside. She went away carving consintration on what she was doing and nothing else. It was only until half way done that she noticed that someone next to her was watching her. She turned her head and nearly jumped out of her skin! There sitting on her small bag with almost glowing orange eyes was a little baby orange rune. It looked up at her and seemed to smile "Hi!" a voice spoke in Raven's brain.

Raven looked around but nobody but the little rune and her were around "Um hello who's there?" she called out. "I am silly!" the voice spoke again. "Who's i?" Raven asked "Look down" the voice said and Raven looked down to the little baby rune who was still staring at her. Now Raven knew about runes and there suppose telepathic abilites with their owners but of cource she never experianced it.

The little rune walked up and curled into Raven's lap "I'm sleepy" she said. Raven grinned and cautiously brought her hand up to stoke the rune's soft fluffy fur. "So who are you again little rune?" Raven asked causing the baby rune to look up at her from her spot "I'm called Dynia. Im a Pumpkin Patch rune" she said simply before lowering her head again and slowly falling asleep.
