Maybe longbows? I dunno.

Olympic archers use recurve bows that draw nearly 50 pounds of force. Longbows are much harder to shoot with and have low accuracy percentages, and compound bows are too powerful and accurate, so it wouldn't be much of a competition.

Oh, well that's not all that tall. You made it sound like the bows were some 5 ft 6. x3 Maybe the people were just short?

Lol.. I learned on a recurve bow that was about 5 inches taller than I was about 2 and a half years ago XD those are relatively small bows, actually.

oh wow. XD my longbow is as tall as I am when unstrung, and when it is, it's about up to my chin. XD
