For 15 years I have loved B-days. But now on my 16th Im beginning to believe they are a form of torture.
1. At the beginning of this week my mom bought one of my presents while I was with her, so I now what it is. But
better yet she has left it out for me to see, but hasnt & wont let me touch it until (next) Monday.
2. Because this weekend is mother's day and my real B-day is during the school week, I cannot have a party/sleepover
to celebrate until next weekend.
3. I have been begging to get my dogs groomed in time for my B-day for weeks now, but my little (under all the fur)
cocker spaniels still look like bears & if Im lucky they wont be groomed until the day after my B-day.
4. Someone at school always tells me their going to bring balloons, but forgets.
5. My friends plan to come into my first period class to sing me happy birthday, and I am under the threat that if i
come in late or am a "no show" for 1st then they will just sing to me during lunch so that the whole cafeteria can join
in & my friends who dont have lunch will come by and yell "Happy Birthday" to me.
6. Several of my teachers keep track of our birthdays and make the class sing on peoples birthday, and as a bonus my
spanish teacher is one of those teachers, so Im most likely going to have a whole class singing an off key, poorly
accented & pronounced "Cumpleanos Feliz"
7. Because my B-day is on a school day I wont be getting my presents until that afternoon which doesnt leave me much
time to enjoy them.
8. All of my family (even my dad & older brothers) aside from my mother and my little sister have forgotten my B-day <-- but that isnt new because it happens every year, except for my grandmother used to remember it too.
9. Recieving presents from my mom is the only thing happening on my actual B-day.
10. My family has always gone out to eat on the B-day persons B-day, but this time were not because mothers day is
the is the day before and we will be going to eat out at my mothers choice of resteraunt instead.
11. My sister has always given me some sort of trinket for my B-day but this time she is rubbing it in that she keeps
procrastinating and hasnt come up with anything yet.
12. *This pertains more to mothers day the day before, than to my B-day* If have still have No idea what to do for my
mom on mothers day. I dont have the money or transportation to go buy her anything, Im terrible at art so I cant
make her anything decent, and I think Im a bit to old to be giving her coupons for random stuff I do anyways.
I thought B-days were supposed to be fun, especially 16th birthdays, but mine is looking really gloomy!
Now, Im not sending this out to get yals pity, I want to here any B-day stories you have to share!
