Piuma Beato

Owner Name:
The-Silver-Wolf
Name:
Piuma Beato
Blessed Feather in Italian
Gender:
Male
Personality:
Piuma is generally a very gentle soul. He wouldn't hurt a fly if he had the choice, and he isn't big on violence. He'd rather play around if given the opportunity, and he'll feel guilty for days if he injures someone while playing with them. He'll feel guilty for a long time if the wound is very bad. This Rune Dragon is also very shy, and has a very low self-esteem. He's often times embarrassed or hurt by how the other Runes treat him just because of his appearance. He likes to hide himself away from the scrutiny of others, and will often retreat to his owner for emotional support.
Even with the lack of understanding he has about his own beauty, he has developed a habit of stealing shiny jewelry form humans or picking them up off of the ground, wherever he might find them. Adorning these shiny baubles makes him feel much better about himself, and his owner will often find him sitting on his stash with a necklace on his head, pretending to be the King of the Rune Dragons. In a sense, Piuma is also a little comedic in a sense because of this odd little quirk.
All in all, Piuma is rather well mannered, except when stealing shiny things, and he minds his manners fairly well. He doesn't like to cause to much trouble.
Why do you wish to have him/her:
This little guy is absolutely beautiful and perfect. I've been eying the Rune Dragons up for adoption for quite some time now, waiting on the right one to come by to be my first. This little guy fits, honestly. :3 Peacocks are one of my favorite creatures, especially the Piebald ones. I regularly make trips out to a local park to photograph our free running peacocks, but unfortunately we don't have any Piebald ones there. :[ I really wish we did, as Piebald Peacocks are -in my personal opinion- one of the most beautiful creatures on Earth. They are a truly wonderful creation that deserve more recognition than they get.
One of the reasons, other than his beauty and perfectness, is because of his personality. He'll fit well with me, because whenever someone or a some creature is shy and picked on, I feel the need to comfort them. Piuma would be a wonderful fit, because he'll need some confidence boosting, and I could do that for him. <3
I also want him because I want to adorn him in shiny pretties. 8D
Where will you keep him/her:
Signature, Character Thread, and all over my gallery. Piuma will be EVERYWHERE. There's gonna be so much spam of him. >.<
Would you like to breed him/her in the future:
Oh gooodness, yes!
Any Quirks:
Piuma has a bad habit of picking up random sparkly things off of people, even if they're wearing it in their ears or around their neck, and he likes to stash them away, almost like a ferret. You'll often find him sitting on his stash and wearing jewelry he's lifted off of people to make himself feel better. However, once is fun is over he'll always return what he's taken back to the owner with such guilt.

Story;
In the pale light of the moon, a medium sized Rune looked up from its disturbed slumber. His amber eyes flashed in the night light, reflecting the stars in a glorious way. His feathers ruffled as he moved about, his heart heavy. A little trilling chirp escaped his maw and he closed his eyes before trying to settle down again, but he couldn't. the Rune gave a sigh and proceeded to walk away from his current spot. The other Peafowl Runes had been shunning him and making fun of him all day, like they did every day. Most days it didn't bother the little Piebald Rune, but it was somehow different today.
He didn't feel very good about himself anymore, and he thought of himself as ugly. Currently, the only place he felt good about himself was in his little stash. Entering the little cave, he traced his steps back into the recesses of his little cozy place. Upon entering his spot, his amber eyes lit up. The little Rune let out a pleased coo, running to the pile of shiny jewelry, practically throwing himself into it and popping back up, a bracelet settling on his head like a little crown. The Piebald chirped happily and then strutted his way to the top of his little pile of wealth, spreading his large fan of feathers out behind him as if to display them for a peahen. He held his head high and wore his home-made crown proudly, strutting his stuff in his cave.
This is where he felt at home. No one was here to judge him, and no one was here to put him down. He was the ruler of his own kingdom, and no one could bring him down. Even though the cave was dark, it was the brightest place in the world for the little Piebald. Sighing in contentment, he settled himself down on his pile of spoils and buried his face into his wing with a smile and a gentle cooing sound. Slowly, the Rune Dragon fell into a slumber where he dreamed of being loved and adored, and never shunned for his feathers.

Falsk Syn
Username:
The-Silver-Wolf
Rune Bearer:
Bearer Name;
Verah Cain
Gender;
Female
Height;
5' 3"
Weight:
153 Pounds
Eye Color:
Crimson
Other Runes;
Piuma Beato
Name:
Falsk Syn
'Falsk Syn' means 'False Sight' in Norwegian. I picked this name because she creates false imagery for others to see. She deceives them visually and mentally, leading them to believe somehting is there when it isn't. Gender:
Female Personality:
Calculating
Falsk will sit there all day, watching and waiting, the gears in her mind turning. She will wait for the oppurtune moment to create her mirages and keep drawing them a little distance away from her poor prey. She calculates furiously, and her mind never stops. Falsk will sit there all day and stare at something to memorize what it looks like to create better mirages, and to get her sick pleasure from seeing the disappointment on her prey's faces when she makes the image disappear.
Quiet
This Rune is a quiet one. Falsk hardly ever makes a peep, and if she does, it is to show her displeasure or to scare any prey that she did not get enough of a thrill from. She would rather sit and watch than to speak up, unlike Piuma most of the time. This quietness also leads to her often disappearing, whether it is to be alone or to create a mirage. Being as quiet as she is, Falsk is also very secretive and has no trust to divulge any o those secrets.
Sadistic
Falsk, really, is rather sadistic. She takes great pleasure in seeing others' pain and misery. She especially likes it when she is the cause of that pain and misery. This Rune will stop at nothing to get her fill of pleasure from seeing others cry out in anguish when the mirage they thought was real and potentially life-saving was in fact nothing more than a mere trick.
Fake
This girl is as fake as they come. Falsk will put on a happy and nice show towards Piuma and myself, however as soon as you turn your back she's back to her nasty ways and habits. Be warned, becasue if you're around her, you will never know whether she really likes you or not because she will put on this facade around you and as soon as you turn your back, she's pretty much stabbing it. By today's standards, she's basically a two-faced back-stabber. Why do you wish to have him/her:
I want Falsk simply because she's gorgeous, and I'm not going to lie. I want her in my group with Piuma. His last breeding will go to her, as he has already fallen quite hard for her looks, even though he has yet to understand the personality she beholds. She's an odd little Rune, and I'm going to covet after her like no tomorrow. Where will you keep him/her:
In my sig, and also in my character thread ocne I finish a few things IRL and can compile all my chacters together. :3 Would you like to breed him/her in the future:
Yes, definately! Any Quirks:
Falsk has this odd habit of leading someone on. With her abilities, she's easily able to do it, and mixed with her unfriendly and sadistic nature, she finds great pleasure in doing so. She has no qualms about it and leads poor people on happily to watch their disappointment when they find out it was nothing more than a mirage. Story:
We had received word of a strange occurrence in a far off land. Bena and Jen had come to us specifically, and they asked us to travel there and find out what was happening. They thought it might be the troublesome antics of a Rune Dragon. So we packed our bags, Piuma and I, and set off from our home in search of what was happening in this dry and arid region.
The ride to this place had not been enjoyable. Over terribly bumpy roads and muddy bogs that slowed us down, it had taken us a lot longer than we had originally expected. Now, however, our search had just begun and the dry heat was staunching. Our canteen was half way empty already and we had to try and conserve water. We didn't know where we might find water next or how long we'd be out here searching for what was happening. Currently, we were sitting under a bush taking a break.
I looked over to Piuma -who seemed to be suffering under the heat with his long feathers, which sand was getting caught in quite easily- and smiled, reaching over a dark skinned hand and petting his head. He cooed at the motion, and I smiled a little harder. Being from where I was from, my dark skin was ready for the heat, but it had been a long time since I had felt heat this bad. My crimson eyes looked from my lone Rune Dragon up off into the distance.
It was a saving grace! In the distance, there was a lush looking oasis. The sight of it set my heart aflutter, and I looked down at Piuma, "Look!" I said, and he whipped his head up to look the way my finger was pointing.
Apparently, he saw it too, because he cried out in joy, his high pitched squawk causing me to laugh a little. Piuma seemed to draw back slightly at my laughter, as if he were hurt by my actions. "Oh come now," I said gently, reaching out and taking him into my arms, kissing the top of his head, "I didn't mean it that way Piuma. You know that, you pretty dragon." His dark amber eyes looked up at me and he perked up a little. "Now, what do you say? Shall we go investigate this oasis?" The male shook his head almost enthusiastically, as if he wanted to go, but he didn't want to deal with the heat and the sand. I shook my head slightly, my dark curls bouncing about my face.
Rising, I took off with Piuma at my side, heading for the oasis. However, as we continued to walk, the oasis seemed to always stay the same distance away from us. We weren't getting any closer. It was exhausting, and we soon stopped under the shade of a rock ledge as night began to fall upon us, the temperature starting to drop. By now, we were out of water, and had no food with us. We had not expected to be out here all day, and now we were spending the night in a desert and I had no idea just how far we had walked searching for that oasis.
Piuma and I built a small fire to keep ourselves from freezing to death and we curled together next to it. I talked absentmindedly to him, stroking his head and luxurious tail feathers as I did so and eventually, we both fell asleep together under that rock ledge.
---
The next morning, in my half-asleep state, awake but not quite awake, I felt something watching me. My crimson eyes snapped open to find the face of orange Rune Dragon with a yellow mask staring me down, its deep, wet black eyes looking at me as if to study me. We stared at each other for a few long moments before it slowly backed away and took off without a sound. Blinking my eyes and moving my hands up to rub my face out of its sleepy state, I couldn't help but wonder what kind of Rune Dragon that was. Was that the Rune Dragon causing all the trouble? Giving a tired sigh, I roused Piuma from his sleep. "Alright boy. I've got a lead." I told him, "I know you're hungry, I am too, but we don't have any food with us. So we're going to have to deal with it until we either find some or get out of this place."
I proceeded to tell him about waking up and finding a Rune Dragon in my face and he seemed curious, as if he wanted to meet this Dragon. I gave a sigh, feeling the hunger tighten at my belly, my stomach making worrying gurgly noises. Pushing the discomfort of hunger out of my mind, I trekked on once more, following where the Rune Dragon had disappeared too. The day was, unsurprisingly, hot once more. However, this time, towards the late afternoon, the sky clouded up pretty quickly, and Piuma and I had to find shelter or risk being drenched. We couldn't get to wet, because if we didn't dry out before night fall, we'd freeze to death for sure this time.
I knew that I was tired and sore and hungry, and I couldn't imagine how Piuma felt. While the rain pattered down, the poor Rune Dragon was trying to pick as much sand out of his feathers as he could. A bit of his skin was raw and bleeding under the feathers because of the sand rubbing it raw. I reached out and took him into my arms, placing him in my lap. "Here," I said, "Let me help." To pass the time and to hep ease his discomfort, I was working my fingers in between his feathers and clearing out as much sand as I could possibly do without hurting my lone companion.
His eyes were close din pleasure and exhaustion, as if he were about to fall asleep in my lap. I looked up quickly as a solid thud from nearby caught my attention. Peering out from our cover, I saw a flash of orange and glowing yellow, as well as a dark shape on the ground. Gently sliding Piuma off of my lap, I crawled over slowly to investigate. Once I was closer, I noticed the same little yellow and orange Rune Dragon who I had seen that morning. At its feet was a dead desert mammal, and it seemed to be offering us the meal. Piuma had followed me and was now standing at my side. I took the prey thankfully, and said to the creature, "You can come in out of the rain if you'd like. Thank you for the meal." I smiled warmly, before scooching back and settling down with Piuma.
I half expected the Rune to fly off again, but instead, it stepped forward out of the rain and joined us as I started building a fire to cook my portion of the meal, after giving Piuma his share of raw meat. As I was holding my food over the fire, I saw the Rune staring at it almost veraciously, as if it had not eaten all day itself. Smiling at the Rune, I tore a chunk off of my portion and held it out in my hand in offering to the orange and yellow Rune. It leaned forward ad sniffed my hand cautiously, before snatching the meat up. In the process, it had nicked my finger. With a sharp cry of shock and pain, I pulled my hand back to see that the Rune had drawn blood.
Looking back at the Rune, I couldn't help but notice the pleased gleam in its black eyes, as if it took pleasure in my pain. I looked down at Piuma on my other side, who was simply enthralled by this new friend. He kept scooching closer and closer,and before I knew what was happening, he had spread his tail feathers up and wide in a display. I had never seen him do this before, but I had only had him around male Runes in the past. This Rune Dragon must have been female! She seemed to be keeping a cold distance from Piuma, and as night fell, Piuma and I slept together, the little she-rune stayed close to us, as if keeping guard.
The next morning, she lead us to safety, and by the look in Piuma's eyes, I knew that it was breaking his heart to leave her behind. So I looked to the little rune, who was playing with her glowing tendrils and making... Wait... She was making small mirages around her person with her lights! This was the Rune who had been causing all the trouble, and who had led us deeper into the desert by creating the mirage of that Oasis! Squatting down before we parted ways, I looked her levelly in the eyes and said, "Little Mirage Maker, if you'd like, you have a home with us." I held out my hand and slowly but surely, the female reached her head out and licked my hand with a rough tongue.
She had chosen to stay with us.Art:

Dovleac Dans

Owner Name:
The-Silver-Wolf
Rune Bearer:
Bearer Name;
Verah Cain
Gender;
Female
Height;
5' 3"
Weight:
153 Pounds
Eye Color:
Crimson
Other Runes;
Piuma Beato, Falsk Syn
Name:
Dovleac Dans
This name means 'Pumpkin Dancer' in Romanian
Gender:
Female
Personality:
Clownish
Dovleac is always looking to give someone a good laugh, be it at her expense or not. Due to some or her clumsiness, most of the humor she generates comes at her own expense. She doesn't mind though. However at some times, being as young and naive as she is, her humor may come across at inappropriate times to try and relieve tension and stress. This is not helpful, but she likes to think it might be some day.
Curious
Dovleac has a compulsive desire to investigate and learn; In other words, often times sticking her little nose where it doesn't belong. Her need to learn new things cannot be satiated, and she'll go out of her way to investigate something, even if its just a leaf on the ground. More than once this trait has gotten her into trouble, leaving her running back to friends or to the safety f the pumpkin she calls 'Momma'.
Rapscallion
Through all of Dovleac's cute little habits and clumsiness, she can be rather mischievous and ornery at times. Most of the time, her orneriness comes through in her playful and upbeat lifestyle, however there are a few instances where she would easily sell another Rune out to avoid getting the blame for something she did; Much like a guilty child might do.
Short-sighted
Dovleac is short-sighted towards her actions, meaning she cannot see and think far enough ahead to relegate the effects to her cause, as well as the consequences that might befall her or others due to her own somewhat brash and child-like decisions. When reprimanded, she does not understand that she has done wrong.
Clumsy
This little girl is incredibly clumsy. Her habit of dancing about -more like flailing at this age- proves that one day she'll be graceful and light on her feet, but not today. Today shell trip over nothing if she's not careful, and fall right into the pumpkin patch on either her head or her poor little bum.
Why do you wish to have her:
She's just sooo adorable and squishy! I want to cuddle her all day long! <3 I also have a love for everything pumpkin related, this little gal included. Pumpkin pie, pumpkin seeds, carved pumpkins, pumpkin chunking... The list goes on and on! Dovleac is amazing and I woudl love to have her as well, especially considering she is the Pumpkin Rune!
Where will you keep her:
She will go into my Rune Dragon Aviary and she will be drawn, and potentially thrown into some RPs. :3
Would you like to breed her in the future:
Yes
Any Quirks:
As her name implies, Dovleac is a dancer, or she would like to be. Every movement is makes is something she strives to make a fluid, dance like movement that is graceful. However, seeing as she is still just a baby, this little Rune can cause quiet the laughing riot when she fails in this dancing habit and ends up falling in a pile of leaves or candy instead of actually dancing. One day, she'll master this art and dance around the pumpkin patch, but not quite yet.
Theme Song(s):
Pumpkin, Pumpkin performed by A.J Jenkins
This song is Dovleac's theme because it's all about pumpkins and Jack-O-Lanterns and what they do during Halloween, as well as being a kids' song, since how she is a baby Rune.

Dislikes:
-Scary sounds
-Being tricked instead of treated

Fears:
Being very young, Dovleac has slight fears of many things. Those happen to include the dark, spiders, and tricks being played on her. Among these minor fears, she has major ones as well. She cannot be alone in a storm, lest she has a panic attack. An incident when she was young has caused this paralyzing fear in her, but she tries to put on a brave face and muscle through it. Another one of her more major fears is that of dogs. Even the sight of one sets her trembling. No one knows, but they think she may have been used as a chew toy when she was younger.

Story:
Without so much as a warning, Falsk shot away from me with a cheerful squawk. My eyes were wide as I watched her fly into a field full of pumpkins. Strangely enough, I had never heard that cheerful of a noise come from my Mirage Rune before, and it was rather startling. Either way, I broke into a large grin and picked up my skirts, following behind eagerly. With the smell of the autumn air, the crisp chilly winds and the crunchy leaves underfoot as well as decorated houses and venues promising All Hallow's Eve was near, there was a almost festive mood in the air for every one. In the daylight, one could almost forget about this horrible Vampiric outbreak among the Runes -which was why Piuma was locked away and not with us now- and just live a little.
Reaching the patch of orange squash, I looked down to see Falsk staring at a tiny Rune Dragon who seemed to be puffing itself up at my Mirage Rune. Giving an exhausted sigh -as this was not the first time that Falsk had upset another Rune Dragon- I got down on my knees to do damage control. Upon closer inspection, the little Rune was actually a baby, and was colored a yellowish orange with orange and yellow tufts of fur. This Rune was fluffy, and by its attitude, I assumed it was a she. She quickly fell backwards upon setting her sights on me with a hardly audible, high pitched squeak. Falsk definitely heard it though, as she cringed with an unpleasant look gracing her usually beautiful features.
The poor baby was flailing around on its back, trying to right itself. Giving a gentle laugh as she opened her mouth and cried out in both helplessness and frustration, I reached out with my hand and righted her so she stood on her two tiny sparrow-like feet. Without so much as a hand lick or squeak as thanks, she turned from my and flapped her tiny wings furiously, as if trying to make it off the ground. Both Falsk and I watched intently as her little wings beat fast, almost like hummingbird's wings. She finally made it off the ground, but she had yet to master the art of flying correctly. So instead of flying the entire way as she ran from us, she hopped from pumpkin to to pumpkin top , twirling as she went, like a clumsy young dancer might.
However, once again, she didn't make it very far.
Chuckling to myself and giving a small sigh I got to my feet and followed along after where the little babe had fallen. As I looked behind the pumpkin she had fallen behind, I saw the Rune acting like a child once again. She was laying on her stomach, legs splayed out behind her and her wings open over the ground as if she had tried catching herself. Pouting, she laid there in that position and blew her little curly tendril of mane out of her glowing eyes. Finally, she looked up at me in a pleading sort of way.
Reaching out I helped her to her feet, but before I could do much, she ran her way up my arm and attacked my large, wavy, dark brown hair. I just sat there, trying hard not to laugh as she got herself tangled up and hung there limply amongst my hair. Thankfully, she barely weighed anything, so it did not hurt when she moved around trying to break free. Her tiny, high pitched squeaks right in my ear did sting a little though. So I reached up and held her in the cup of one hand while I slowly untangled the wavy strands of dark hair from around her person.
When I took her out completely and she was no longer tangled, I held her out and she rested in the palms of my two hands as I examine her up close, my crimson eyes curious. In turn, her glowing orange and yellow eyes examined me. The baby seemed terribly interested in what I was thinking, and just to play with her, I blew a puff of air at her.
Startled, she flapped her tiny wings and fell backwards out of my hands. I tried to catch her, but I wasn't fast enough. Before I could help her, she was on her feet and squeaking at me. What she was saying didn't sound like it was very nice either. Smiling, I burst out laughing but that only seemed to make her more mad. Waving a wing at me her chirps gt louder before Falsk jumped in ad pushed the baby over with her head.
The baby Rune did not seem startled however, but more interested. Staring at Falsk intensely, the little baby Rune launched herself at Falsks head and just rested there, rubbing her cheek against the top of Falsk's spiky fur affectionately. Falsk turned to look at me with her black eyes and she just had this 'kill me now' look on her face. I smiled, shaking my head, saying, "Well Falksy... It seems she's here to stay."
