The college I attend...I swear...It's got me so upset.

- They change my academic advisor without giving me any notification. ((Though, my new one is an awesome professor.))

- I want to sign up for mini classes in case I have to drop a class so I can still be full time. But apparently, because I had to call 3 people to get this info, the mini classes are only for transfers.

- Even then half the mini classes were canceled without any sort of notification. I had to call and get that sprung on me too.

- I was told I could drop a class, and still not owe back any grant money since I've been in the class for so long....which makes NO sense since I'd only be a part time student and I need to be a full time student.

I love my school, but I'm almost to tears with frustration. Hopefully my professor can help me out of this jam so I can drop but now owe any money back. But I won't be able to talk to him until next week. :C

Am I the only one who thinks it's a bit wrong that people rather know an anime than a classical piece of world literature?

(By that I don't say that animes are stupid or something like that - they can be pretty good. But in my opinion it is some kind of
essential to know at least a few important books
[not talking about harry potter or this stuff])

There's supposed to be a rally at school today, I really hope it doesn't get cancelled for all the fights last week. <__<

You're not alone in that. It annoys me when people don't know any classics, from any genre. But especially in literature, you have to know something. It just goes to show what society is coming to these days, ignoring the classics for something much easier and less meaningful.

Definately went over the top with my reply.

In a nut shell: Literature is important, new or old, but you have to consider todays audiences. I read books, and I watch anime/read manga.
I don't read older books, or the "classics" becuase it is a hard to style to read.

Exactly. Thank you.

It's completely fine to watch animes and read modern books - but I only see them as pure entertainment, not as source of knowledge.

It's some kind of a problem today: people are a bit afraid of reading classical books because they are quite difficult or seem to be a level higher than everything else. But once you start to think about it and really understand the meaning (or at least parts of it) these books are great. They can make you think differently and show you new aspects also in current affairs.
I personally learned a lot for my life from classical books.

I just want to leave this place. This education is no fun, at all.
I've chosen the wrong way. What have I done, ohmy.
Tomorrow I'm going to an info day about voice actors.
That sounds better.

Don't get me wrong, the interpreter education is kinda nice.
But the second language I've chosen is pretty terrible for me.
I don't get along with Spanish. No way.

I don't want to go to this course anymore.

When I know I need to reply to like five role-plays, but I really don't want to for some reason.
Muse.. Where did you go? Dx

Regret. I’m pretty sure we have met
Every single day of your life. I’m the whisper inside
That won’t let you forget. Hello, my name is defeat
I know you recognize me, just when you think you can win
I’ll drag you right back down again ‘til you've lost all belief
These are the voices, these are the lies
And I have believed them, for the very last time
Hello, my name is child of the one true King
I've been saved, I've been changed, and I have been set free
“Amazing Grace” is the song I sing
Hello, my name is child of the one true King
I am no longer defined by all the wreckage behind
I am a child of the one true King

I was in so many RPs, then they died all at the same time, now I'm in three with the same two people >.< One of which is never on,
Looks like I'm going RP hunting.
