Halfstep saw his daughter "w-why dont you go play with your sister..." he jumped up walking over quickly with a worried face.

Ayeayekit huffed "i wanna know! why do you keep advoiding it...DAD!" he called running at him Leopardkit hot on his tail.

Daggerkit followed close behind ready to take Shortfire down.

Shortfire narrowed her eyes playfully and stood on her back legs making the two kits bounce off her belly.

Silkkit yelped bounceing back but her father caught her, she giggled "hey papa!" she smiled

Halfstep sighed relived she was okay "hey Shortfire...." he smiled and saw his sons running, his eyes widend "uhh...help me change the subjet please Shortfire...." he begged

Ayeayekit stomped over "tell us about mother!" he snapped getting angry now

Shortfire sighed at the little kits. Placing all four feet on the ground she nodded padding up to Hawlfstep. "I will help this once... But they deserve to know what happened." she mewed before turning and smiling at the kits. "Who wants to play Defenders!" she mewed excitedly

Echopaw walked out of the Apprentices den. He looked for Specklelight.

Silkkit blinked looking at her father with sympathy, she got on her back paws and licked his cheek "its okay papa...they'll be depressed for a little while but they'll get over it like me...kinda" she chuckled lightly and her eyes widened "i do!" she went into a coughing fit before taking a deep breath "i do" she smiled.

Ayeayekit gasped and nodded "I DO!" him and Leopardkit spoke in unison

Halfstep frowend and nodded "i owe you one Shortfire...and ill tell them...when the time comes..."

Shortfire shot him a look then turned back to the kits. "OK! Everyone get in a line!" she mewed padding to grab a large pile of moss.

Daggerkit hopped in line beginning it.

Halfstep frowend with his head low, faces of Freshstream kept popping up snd his heart lurched, the look Shortfire didn't scare him or make any emotions dirt inside him...that look was often given to him from Freshstream

Shortfire smiled "OK! Daggerkit and Ayeayekit you two are one a team! Silkkit and Leopardkit you two are on a team" she mewed placing the moss in two piles. "Now each team needs to try and get the other team's moss balls to add to their own pile. So Dagger and Ayeaye you need to try and get silk and leopards... and Leopard and silk you need to try and get Dagger and Ayeayes. "Now this isn't just a game of speed but also of stealth. I will be here to try and distract you or get in the way!" she mewed nudging each team to their respective piles
