Vesper rolled her eyes. "Does it look like I have anything to do?" she asked, loping alongside Cody. "I was about to ask you the same question."

"He's probably back at the dens," Sauver replied, looking surprised at Bronte's sudden appearance.

Dusk looked over his shoulder, checking to see if anyone was around. Seeing no-one, he got back up and started towards Hailstorm's camp. He stopped mid-step, wondering if he should go through with it. No, wait a bit. Dusk flicked his ears back and walked back to his own camp.

Storm lounged in the shade of a spruce tree, dreaming pleasant dreams. Every now and then a paw twitched or he mumbled something inaudible to any listener. Suddenly he awoke, and reluctantly stood up and stretched. I shouldn't have been sleeping, he grumbled. My pack needs me around. The dark wolf rolled his shoulders and trotted to camp, hoping his absence hadn't been noticed.

Dusk sighed and padded back to his pack, his shoulders rolling while he walked. He had to talk to Storm soon, no matter the cost. He stopped at his camp, scanning the grounds for parts of his pack. Seeing only Goldpaw he sighed and yawned. He had lost a lot of sleep last night, fussing over small things that hadn't mattered. He shuddered in the wind and padded towards his den.

Goldpaw followed him in into the den, her stomach growling. "So what do we do?" she asked, hopelessness filling her voice.

Dusk flicked his ears towards Goldpaw as her stomach growled. "There is a rabbit in your den, eat it." He said, then shrugged. "I'll have to send Cody and Vesper across to bring something down."

Cody shrugged "Trying to hunt but with no success." he said glumly.

Bronte smiled even bigger. "Ok then thanks." she said and padded away.

Vesper snorted in reply, her breath clouding the space in front of her eyes. "If we hunted in pairs, would that make a difference?" she suggested, somewhat casually.

Cody smiled and shrugged, " Sure I bet it would help." He said and got into a nice pace.

Storm, not finding anyone at the camp, trotted briskly away. Where is everybody? he wondered. The cold wind felt refreshing as it ruffled his fur, but soon it got to be annoyance, so he returned to the den. Throwing up his head, he sang out a loud howl to reach the very corners of his territory, summoning his pack.
