Just thought I'd respond to this...I don't know about Winger and some of the other TDF 'yotes but Okibi has been a good friend of mine for a very long time. Coyotes, and especially her daemon, are a subject she could go on about for days.
If you're considering it, she's very approachable and sweet. I think because of the sheer number of coyotes and coyote possibles, they're all just a little skeptical of newbies trying it out, but there's also a wealth of information to be had if you're willing. For suggested reading, you can't beat "The Voice of the Coyote" by J. Frank Dobie, it's written by an old cowboy and covers coyotes as animals, anecdotes, native myths, all kinds of awesome stuff. It can really give you a taste of coyotes to see if it's something you want to pursue, hopefully your local library has a copy.Also, I doubt anyone cares, but I thought I'd mention that Kael and I are done with our foray into bears...we've been giving it a shot for about two months and I miss our old Tibetan mastiff form too much. It's been who we are for five years and I just haven't felt quite right since trying to leave it behind. So yeah. And in response to where my daemon is in a crowd, if there's a place he can sit where he's out of the way he will, but when I'm on the move he tends to slip through people kind of like the Knight Bus in Harry Potter. One second big and fluffy, the next superskinny eeling through the crowd. It works when I picture it XD
