Aw, no bowfishing? I have two ponds in the back, so if I bought bow fishing equipment I could go whenever I want to, as long as I promise my dad not to shoot the bass. x3

He really likes the bass and we've only got a few. I fish for the blue gill and catfish.

hey, i've got a question- what do you do when you shoot but miss, and the arrow goes underwater? Do you have to like, jump in the water to get it back? or is there a line that you can use to pull the arrow back? where i live, it's illegal to bowfish yearround, so i've never seen anyone bowfish. XD

I don't have a bowfishing set, but basically it has a little rig that you screw onto your bow and have special fishing arrows that you tie the string to. (video from my local archery shop)

When I carved my own bow and used bamboo arrows (it failed, but the concept was there x3) I cut a notch around the arrow towards the back and tied a string around it so I could pull it back up. But it's probably better to get a real bowfishing rig.

Yeah, I was trying to make my own bow and arrows and bamboo seemed a good choice for the arrows. And it was strong, but not not brittle, and easy to carve to a nice sharp point and everything. It just wasn't entirely straight. ._.

(I have a big patch of bamboo growing by the fence.)

ohh, bamboo arrows. that does have really good concept behind it! they should make those kind of arrows.

Yeah, they should, huh? x3 Light, sturdy, won't shatter from the force - great, huh? I think the problem is that bamboo has some kind of toxic chemical in it, so it wouldn't really be good for hunting anything you plan to eat. ._. There might be other problems too, I don't know since I (obviously) am not a bow or arrow maker. xD

..it does? ._. i use bamboo sticks to make s'mores during the summer..

*coughcough* well then, maybe there's some kind of thing they can put over the bamboo, like a silicone or polymer layer? that would prevent chipping and damage to the shaft. [i use wooden arrows and they constantly chip and peel from the constant jolt of hitting the target -_-']
