So that's another mini question;
Do you have trouble working out parts of your characters' disorders? Assuming they have a disorder.

Actually, saving one exception from one of my nanowrimo characters like year, I only give my characters disorders that I actually have, and rarely ever have characters with disorders. Way too many idiots see it as a 'trendy' thing to give a character, and it just... really bothers me. It's just not something I want to use lightly.

On another note, I finally got around to doodling a human design for Nick. Now to make an actual reference.

I only really have one character with a disorder, which would be Leslie. I've grown up with my autistic brother and two of my best friends both have autism. I do have quite a lot of reference and I don't base it all on what the media says. But it's still quite difficult since autism is incredibly broad.

I think it's alright when done correctly, I've learnt quite a lot from researching about it. I never give my characters traits or conditions without proper research :>

Though I just remember something, so I'll add it on.

I never actually gave Leslie autism from the start. He was considered something different back then. But as time went on and he developed, he slowly... well... developed autism. It was odd, but he did, and I didn't even attempt to give it to him. Not sure how it happened, though I guess I have a lot of autistic influence from around me.

That's great. It can be pulled off well by some people, I just don't think I'm one of those people. I'm just bothered by people who don't know what they're talking about.

I do, with Anikota, and her Intermittent Explosive Disorder. If you don't know what that is, heres a snippet of the basis:

a behavioral disorder characterized by extreme expressions of anger, often to the point of violence, that are disproportionate to the situation at hand. It is currently categorized in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders as an impulse control disorder. IED belongs to the larger family of Axis I impulse control disorders listed in the DSM-IV-TR, along with kleptomania, pyromania, pathological gambling, and others. Impulsive aggression is unpremeditated, and is defined by a disproportionate reaction to any provocation, real or perceived. Some individuals have reported affective changes prior to an outburst (e.g., tension, mood changes, energy changes, etc.)
