of course, the arrow is parallel to the ground. with my bow, you rest the arrow tip against the side of the bow handle, and i have to tilt the bow slightly and put up my thumb to keep the arrow in place while i aim, but before i shoot, i have to remember to put my thumb down, or else when you shoot, the fletching will brush across your thumb, and it hurts, been there done that. XD and it sends the arrow flying in another direction as well.

Ah, okay. I had sorta the same problem with my recurve, the fletching keep streaking across my knuckle and after 4 or 5 shots it cut. ._. I don't know why that happened though, I was shooting the same way I always had and I'd never run into that before.

have you considered getting fingerless gloves? they help immensely with that kind of problem, and while i have never had that problem [i shoot on the 'wrong' side of the bow, old habit] i know people who have, and it was easily solved with the fingerless gloves.

I'm broke right now. xD But I'm hoping to get a fingerless glove that goes up to my bicep, as when I accidentally hit myself with the string it's not my wrist, but my elbow that takes the abuse. xD If I can't find one I'll just ask my mom to make me one.

i'm not sure if they sell those kinds of guards. XD i think wearing a long sleeved shirt or sweater works just fine. and as for the fingerless gloves, it's really easy to just make your own. you just need to cut the fingers off an old but sturdy pair of old gloves, and poof, you've got yourself a pair of fingerless gloves. XD that's what i did at least.

I live where it's really hot, so you probably wouldn't catch me with long sleeves. xD And yeah, just got to find the gloves first. x3

Haha, yes. The Fletching can hurt quite a bit. X3 Also, I haven't been able to practice for about a month because my bowstring snapped, and when my new one arrived, I went out straight away and shot one arrow and my arrow rest went and broke on me. Q_Q The universe hates me right now.

Sorry for the late reply, but thank you for the happy birthday! I want to see if they sell any fingerless gloves that go up to the middle of my lower arm, or a couple inches away from my wrist.
