Quickly, to google! No, but seriously, go wiki them or something. Part of the fun of this system of personality-typing is that it teaches you how to research by making you interested in animals. It's a great way to turn into a zoology nerd. And you'll get a lot more out of it generally if you aren't spoon-fed. LEARNING :D That's the best of things.

Looking into rats at the moment as an alternative to the Korat cat as rodent's have been suggested as the better fit to felines.

Would anyone be able to point out a few rat species which are semi-social, very laid-back and go with the flow, very calm and not prone to anxiety, can have a few insecurities but hides them at all costs. Quite dominant with own group but very polite with strangers?

I know that's incredibly brief but sociability is what I am focusing on more at this stage of things...

I'm a little confused; are you looking for an alternate form or is Korat just not working out so you're looking for something else?

Anyhoo, I'll toss out capybaras if family is your thing. Though there isn't an analysis for it, domestic rat may be something. I'm just taking stabs in the dark pretty much.

Hmmm, Capybaras seem too social. That's what I mean, for the life of me I can't find something with a nice balance. I love being with my friends but I am independent too and need a lot of recharge time away from people. My friendship group is only rather small with about two or three other people but I have a wide circle of acquaintances because I can get along with anyone....


And it's not that the Korat isn't working but it's just that I have spoken to quite a few people on TDF and they have all suggested that a rodent would fit me better than a feline...

For minimal social stuff, I think squirrels would suit you better. Dunno which squirrel, but poke around the squirrel analyses. Note the dates, some may be old.

Just throwing a few other only semi-social rodents out there, hamsters and shrews...I'm not sure how fitting all of their traits may be, but also porcupine species and woodchucks. These are not rodents, but you might also try looking into species like hedgehogs, echidna, etc. Good luck with your research, Nix!

Agreeing with what has been said about prey animals. A lot of prey animals can be much more dominant and assertive than predators. Prey =/= doesn't eat meat, or 'weak'.

Dietary preferences have nothing to do with personality/settled forms either. I don't much care for meat myself but most of my forms end up being carnivorous omnivores for whatever reason.

As a vegetarian trying out an owl form, I will second this. I don't know many people who like to eat shrews and insects. I know I sure don't.

Btw, what about how you eat, rather than what you eat (weird eating habits for example)? I'm struggling a little bit with how literal that would be.

Human eating habits of any kind wouldn't factor into form. However, the way an animal forages, hunts, or otherwise acquires food, is an important point to consider. If you're familiar with MBTI, it's one of the things indicative of S/N.

I have a question. Both the Pittbull and the Artic Wolf Analysis fit my best friend and his dæmon, Saphera(sp?). She is normally Pitt Bull, though. These seem very diffrent.

Also, does anybody else have a coyote dæmon? I'm a bit scared of the TDF pack.

And where does your dæmon go in crowded places?

Grei either goes ferret and rides my shoulder/head/shirt/hood/bag. Or he trys to be quick and dodge people. Wei act as realistic as possible, so he doesn't touch others.

Ains has always felt most comfortable in bird form, or at least, that's how I've always projected him. In crowds he tends to either fly ahead and perch somewhere to wait for me or if he wants to feel close he might settle on my head or on my shoulder.
