Well, I'm not sure if this applys to equids in any way, but foals don't always looks like their parents. My trainer actually got a solid bay filly (A breeding stock paint) from her two black and white paints because it gets it from one or more of it's ancestors .... I'm not sure if that applys to this situation though, I'm just saying..

WMEs dont work like real horses. 2 blacks may result into a black, bay or chestnut depending on genes.

Well, I'm thankful that Birch came up with such a nice breeding, so I don't really mind... though I would have loved to introduce him to all of you myself.
Maybe I'll manage to do that with my next equid that I'll hopefully get soon - my little boy needs someone to play with. <3
