I'm very social, will to my tight couple of friends. I try to *avoid* cool people, and I like being not cool, because it's nice to not have more friends than I need. I'm very aggressive, "there is no flight, only fight" typeof person. When given a situation that makes me mad, I always go for the physical way, even if that way makes me a bit scared. I have high anxiety, part of my ptsd, and I'm a very sensitive person, as looking as the person hasn't been mean to me. If they have, it's what they deserve. I'm very protective and loyal to my friends, but if a person can't be my friend, I'm okay with letting them go. I don't like plans. They always get in the way, especially if I see something cool, but there's a plan to follow. I'm a secretive person. Always have been. Doesn't mean that you tell me your most precious secrets and don't expect me to tell them to my best friend, but I've always had secrets, so I understand that its important not to give them away. I care about people- enough at least. I'll help a random person, and my buddies but, that's about it. I like group work, but only with people that aren't slackers.

Detail, schmetail. If you give me a rundown of your most prominent traits I can at least try to point you in a general direction, though oftentimes the members on this site are too young to get a read on. :P How social are you, and who do you socialize with (a large, tightly-knit group of friends, only a few close buddies, a wide circle of acquaintances, etc.)? How do you react to conflict? How anxious, sensitive, protective, plan-oriented, secretive, and caring are you (and who towards)?. How do you feel about group work vs. solo work?

Aw maaan, I hate it when RAs get overlooked. I just scanned it over and based on what I bare-bones info I know about sugar gliders, they seem like a good fit. You could also check out common ringtail possums, Ruppell's foxes, marmosets, tamarins, and maybe even Asian small-clawed otters. You say you're not the most social person at one point, but the rest of your RA contradicts that--you sound like a socially-selective extrovert. :P

Thank you so much! And yeah, I'm social at times but quiet at others... so selective definitely fits me. xD I'll look into those forms when I get the time~ c:

I found this analysis on the African Wild Dog, now it's only a quick analysis but it fits me to a tee except for one point about the children one...but there is the Dhole as well that describes me too, but I found out why is because the Dhole and African Wild Dog is closely related. If you feel that you have either of these aspects then you might find that the African Wild Dog might fit you as well:

--African wild dog--
-A unique, free spirit
-Built for endurance
-People tend to confuse your preferences (e.g. "Don't you like anime..?")
-Striking appearance
-Very sociable; stick with your pals
-When really into something you can keep at it for hours without losing concentration
-Have dealt with persecution and lack of mercy
-Work by day, as you aren't easily distracted by noise and activity
-Your work isn't a pretty sight, and your methods may not be seen as honorable, but you don't care how you do something, so long as it works
-Actually have more mercy than most, despite your rep
-You're not vicious and murderous, but sensible and tactful
-Greet friends enthusiastically
-Thoughtful
-Altruistic
-Love children
-Easily cooperate with others, and almost always team up
-Being in small or large groups is preferable to ones in-between
-Get a lot done in a day, but have to work hard for it
-Find it difficult to eat enough to balance all the energy you expend; alternatively, find it hard to refresh your spirit when it's been drained by hard work
-Unplanned separation from your friends is stressful on you
-Know a lot more than is expected
-When concentrating on your first priority, other priorities shrink
-Aggressive toward those not in your clique; may not mingle well with other social circles
-Can hold off on doing something till it's the most advantageous
-Ready to aid friends and family when they need it
-"At the mercy" of the leader in your group, unless you are that leader
-Most often have conflicts with someone you feel like you're in direct competition with
-Can inflict nasty injuries (emotional or otherwise)
-The size of your circle of friends fluctuates a lot
-Even a small loss is major in your eyes; sensitive

^Ah, but that analysis is wrong. It's incredibly out of date and literal. TDF hasn't analysed that way for years.

Where did you even find that analysis, She Wolf? It looks like something that might have been on The Daemon Page, but the analyses on there are gone now. It's so outdated it's even been deleted from our Index. There are two AWD analyses still in there, one from '07 and one from '10. The newer one could be improved but is alright if you ask questions and do your own research. Bear in mind that thinking of forms in terms of 'wildness' is too literal. You'd probably be surprised at how fierce and independent some breeds of dog are, while I'm under the impression that grey wolves tend to avoid conflict. Have you written a Reverse Analysis? We could be of more help if we knew a bit about how you behave, in your own words.

yeah I need to do that, I haven't did a reverse in awhile, and I think it is off the Daemon page but I could be wrong.
It will be awhile before I can actually sit down and be thorough because I have to move so it will be a few weeks but it seems that you are all very knowledgeable about this so I will actually do this. Thank you for the update Slinky I didn't know that it was...though I did an analysis on another website not if I know if they are accurate, but it gave me the African Wild Dog and I did a quiz that told me I was a domestic dog, and it didn't describe me very well.

Am I right in remembering that AWDs are generally not people who would spend time on the internet anyway, because they're big fans of more tangible socialisation and are extreme extroverts?

(but yeah, that analysis must be pretty rusty, I don't delete things from the Index. Kris culled all the links that were broken when she got rid of the TDP analyses, but other than that they go in and they stay there)

(I finally added a way for people to find your martens Beth C:)

Aaa Zoe :D I guess people were mainly overlooking the GA topic when looking for species because they didn't expect them to be in there. New section makes everything so organised and easy. :D Looks good!

And yeah I think it's often been suggested that AWDs would rarely show up on the internet because they're ridiculous extroverts. I think they'd use things like Facebook to keep in contact with people they know offline, since they'd want to be 'in the loop' as much as possible, but contributing to forums takes a certain amount of quiet alone time that I think AWDs would rather spend outside.

I have a splitting cold headache (yay for diseases you get at cons) but I'll try to be coherent.

Thirding Zoe and Beth. AWDs are probably the most social animal on the planet. When I saw them at the Pittsburgh Zoo this weekend they were all in a giant pack cuddle puddle and even moved together when they finally disassembled said cuddle puddle.

If you spend an inordinate amount of time on the internet, alone, or otherwise not socializing in some fashion, you're probably not an AWD. I know someone who is an AWD to a tee and she's a master networker, like making friends and social circles is her talent. Even when we went to Japan she had a gaggle of friends at the university within a week. The only times I see her without friends is when she's doing work for the department we're in and even then she's texting them.

Dholes are not as pack and group oriented as AWDs. They're still pretty social and like contact, but not as extreme "I'm going to die without human contact"-like as AWDs. If I recall, Argent went from thylacine to dhole and thylacines are the types to be social but on their own watch.

I wouldn't rule out domestic dogs just yet. Each breed has its own character from the very independent Shiba Inu to the social Retrievers. I false settled as a Kintamani aaaaaaaaaages ago and now I'm a prehistoric megafauna carnivorous marsupial.

If you could make sense of my nonsense, GOOD JOB. I need dayquil and a nap.

Oh thank you! From the both of us! I'd be happy to have even a little bit of a nudge in the right direction!

Now let me see.. I'm not very social and though I do enjoy time spent with a small group of friends social interaction is very exhausting for me and it doesn't take long for me to get irritable if I don't get much time to myself. This might be because I really can't be myself around people, I talk tough and walk cool when I'm around other folks because I feel like I have to be, really though, I'm pretty darn sensitive, shy and insecure. I like to feel protected, I'm submissive, having other people around helps with that so long as I'm not interacting with them constantly of course. Anxiety is my middle name; I'm a nail-biter and a fidgeter and I stress and worry about details of details and I like to have a plan though I'm a little too scatter-brained to hold a lot of plans together because I tend to forget about things until the last minute and get distracted. I can't handle conflict at all, it triggers my anxiety attacks and I shutdown. In make-or-break situations though, I do a pretty darn good job of reacting quickly and effectively - instinct kinda takes over I guess. I like to think I'm caring, I can't possibly hold a grudge and it lights me to help other people or see others happy - mostly my close friends since they're kindof my chosen family. I like to be responsible for my own work, but if a group works well t'gether there ain't nothing quite like it and its really pretty awesome.

Hope that works? Haha. x3

Aah, deffo a prey animal. x] Try hedgehogs, lagomorphs, small deer (chevrotains, muntjacs, musk/water deer, pudus, brockets), and maybe spiny mice or voles at a stretch.

O lawd, ungulates all up in hurr. Check out equids and even-toed ungulates, specifically peccaries, wild pigs, and possibly deer. Primates and grouse would also be worth looking into if you don't find what you're looking for there.
