His burning eyes, so ironic to his tier, watched her. She was unaware of the intrusion on her silent afternoon for the male had learned years ago how to walk without sound. Below his delicate paws, frost ran like veins through the roots of the grass, slowly winding up each bent blade and making the emerald shade beneath reflect like patterened glass. Too distracted with his target, Hypno did not notice the gorgeous creation growing.
She was not in his group. In fact, now that he mused over it, he had never seen her before. He could tell from the tattoo that had been inscribed on her flank she belonged to Chaos, the revered God of Emptiness.
Hypno snorted softly, his breath blowing out frigid and foggy even in the middle of the afternoon of a summer day. He quirked one ear forward, his immaculate pale blue eyes not veering from her form. She looked to be off duty, as far as he could tell; meandering through the forest lazily, having possibly already fed earlier and now with no jobs other then to relax.
Abruptly, the painted female stopped and jerked her head up. She twitched the very end of her patterned tail before turning to look directly where he sat. Even knowing he was hidden within the confines of shade thrown from nearby trees, he tensed up, startled. His mouth went dry and the smallest crackling of ice sounded below him.
An amused smile touched her mouth and pulled up the expression that had seemed before as empty as her master's. "You can come out. I can see through shadows, remember?" She wiggled her haunches, the tattoo dancing under the glint of the sunlight. Hypno almost cursed himself. He had been highly unintelligent to not remember that anybody who served beneath Chaos had exquisite control over shadows, or at least the ability to see through them.
Without dragging it out any further, he stepped out into the sunlight. The grass that had been coated in a thin layer of ice snapped behind him as he distangled himself from their holds, approaching her. As he got closer, he watched her mahogany eyes widen, and by the time he stopped in front of her she already had herself tucked into a graceful and submissive bow. "...sorry, Hypno, God of Ice..." She murmured softly, using his full title as anyone below him was forced to.
A faint sigh escaped his muzzle. "Stand up, servant. What is your name?" Unallowed to show any romantic interests toward those of another god or goddess, he suppressed his inclination towards her. She swallowed, thinking she was in deep trouble. "...Graycale, sir." She replied quietly.
Her vision safely obscured, Hypno allowed himself the faintest smile. "That's a beautiful name." He said softly, and she glanced up, surprised at his gentler tone. Leaning forward just the slightest of an angle, he touched his frigid nose to hers until his warmed to adjust. A smile curled over his muzzle. "I will see you soon." His words ruffled through her fur like the winter breeze he was and he disappeared into the realm of the gods, leaving the female to stare in wonderment of where he had stood just seconds before. Had she just been touched by a god...?
