Forest dragons are big dragons, about the size of a deer, who live in dark forests.
They are very shy, and therefor you have to earn their respect to become their masters. Once a forest dragon as chosen its owner, it will stay by its side the rest of their lives.
They have thin muzzles, made for getting under rocks and logs, containing a set of short but sharp teeth. They have big, round ears that can hear very good. It is said that a Forest Dragon can hear a butterfly take off.
They have short, smooth fur on their bodies, while the chest hair and their manes are soft and warm. They have fantastic climbing and jumping abilities, sharp claws and a light body, allowing them to climb trees, but they mostly use their teeth and claws in battle. But, even if they are skilled fighters, the young are very weak and vulnerable, and cant stand up for themselves if a bear or something larger attacks them, so they seek cover in the trees. The young stays hidden in the trees until they feel safe again, and then they climb down to their parents again. The forest dragons have very strong backs, allowing them to carry their young with them when traveling, something that comes in handy as very small babies cant keep up very good with their parents.
With their fantastic climbing abilities, forest dragons often climb the trees to hunt squirrel, an animal who is part of their diet. The diet mostly contains meat from small mammals, but they also eat insects. Some dragons use their jumping skill to jump into the air and catch bats and butterflies if they happen to see some flying in the air, and other dragons have learned to keep their feet planted on the ground and catch rabbits. Even if they eat meat, every dragon has a favorite treat involved in their diet, and that treat can be anything, cookies, chocolate or something else.
