What does COPPA stand for?
Maybe they wanted you to edit... Idk xP
Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. Anyone under 13 has to follow COPPA (where you cannot post any personal information and often must have a parent submit a form that says that you may participate in the website). Tess blocks anyone under 13 from posting on the forums and sending messages with their trades. If a website does not follow COPPA, they risk being fined $20,000 or more.

Seriously, why are COPPA users all of a sudden not offering ANYTHING?
Perhaps they think that we will go, "Oh, you're a young member so you probably don't understand how trading works. You can have all of my Rares for free!" or something along those lines. :s

Oh WOW there are people on here that are below 12 and still post because they dont state their real age on the profile page. But, maybe those people are allowed if their parents dont care or something...

I heard your parents have to fax something to Nick and/or Tess to post on the forum.

Yes. I do not know how it works since the COPPA rules were not in place when I joined, but I would assume that a new member receives a COPPA form to print out. Then, the parent has to fill out information and sign it, then send it back. Tess and Nick probably keep them recorded in case the state was to come randomly and ask for their COPPA forms. If they don't have the forms, then they would get fined.
