ɢαℓɛ didn't bother to suppress his satisfied grin as he watched her get more and more irked at him, running a hand absently over the bonnet of the supercharge as he watched her defensive body language.
The second she created the plasma ball Gale's whole body went rigid with tension and he waited until it was properly gone before grabbing her by the wrist and squeezing, hard. He stated to talk very quietly, very quickly. "You think this is a game, you silly girl? You know the risks we went theoughto come for you? Do you have any idea how dangerous we are? Every single person in the world wants us dead because of our powers. They'll kill others to get to us, believe me, I know. So yes, Riley, I am well aware of how serious this is." His grip had been tightening with every sentence spat, knuckles white. Gale'seyes stared accusingly into hers, deep within them behind the anger and frustration, a kind of old, wiseness that was far from ordinary in a teenage boy. Of course, he was a far from ordinary teenage boy.

Riley was surprised at how quickly Gale moved to grab her wrist. "Ow!" She yanked her hand away and rubbed her wrist. She looked into Gale's eyes. "We? Who is we? And, for a matter of fact, I do know how important this is."

She didn't really know much about what came spitting out of Gale's mouth, but she was did know about how people wanted them dead. Riley has noticed suspicious people dressed in black, sometimes looking around corners, seeming to look for her. She didn't take her eyes away from the mysterious boy, but she hoped she wasn't being watched. Riley felt a small bit of shame growing in her, and she knew she should'nt of acted so stupid just then, she was just trying to prove a point.

ɢαℓɛ arched an eyebrow. "Keep your voice down," He said quietly, "like I have politely asked you to, and I might consider answering your question."
He really, really hopped the CCTV cameras weren't turned on around the parking lots or they would be completely and utterly screwed. Chewing his lip for a second, Gale added, "And pull your hood up." He glanced at the sky, frowned slightly, then glanced towards the supposedly dead camera in the corner. Of course, he knew how to expertly hack a CCTV camera so all it showed was static and dancing kittens for eight hours - had that been a fun lesson or what - but he honestly couldn't be bothered. Especially not when it was so easy to just …
"Strange time of year for snow. It's not Christmas for at least eighty-something days," Gale commented loudly, flicking a delicate flake from his perfectly styled hair. "Anyway. Sorry. Where were we?"

Riley looked up at Gale and nodded, obediently pulling her black and purple hood over her head. "Sorry." She said quietly. Riley stuffed her hands in the pockets of her hoodie. "Can you answer my question now?"

Riley looked at the sky in awe as it began to snow silently, watching the tiny white flakes fall to the ground. She immediately knew it was Gale. "Wow...... Yes, it is strange." A small smile spread across Riley's face and she stuck her tongue out, waiting for one of the frozen wonders to fall on it.

ɢαℓɛ had always loved snow, whether it was his own doing or not. Some old, vague poem or lyrics surfaced in his mind and he recited them in his mind, gaze locked on the flakes.
What would it take for things to be quiet? Quiet, like the snow.
Are we meant to be empty handed? I know I could, could be better.
I don't think I deserve it, selflessness. Find your way into my heart.
All the stars could be brighter; all the hearts could be warmer …
What would it take for things to be quiet?
His hair glittered with tiny flakes, and from the corner of his eye Gale could see many eyes of confined, trapped students drawn to the outside world. He glanced back at Riley, waiting for her to persue the question, but instead she just watched the snow.
"I can't tell you that now," Gale eventually murmured, looking away as his cloud of breath faded into the suddenly cold air. "I could tell you but I'd have to kill you." He considered. "Or we could go for a ride." Patting the Ferrari like one would a loving dog, he glanced upwards.

Riley watched the sky, twirling around with her arms outstretched like a small child. She sucked in a large breath of air, taking in that natural smell of snow, although she knew it wasn't really natural. It was Gale.

Riley stopped twirling at the sound of the word kill and tried to look at him, only resulting in falling on the ground. Thankfully, she fell on her bottom and stared at the ground until the dizziness stopped. Riley looked back up at Gale, thinking the information must be important.

She watched the ferrari, which was cherry red, with two black stripes down the black. Beautiful. A small bit of jealousy glinted in her eyes. Riley did have a nice green Jeep, better than her dad's red pickup tuck that he drove to work everyday. The jealousy was soon washed over by excitement, and she quickly opened the door, sliding into the leather covered passenger's seat. It still had that new car smell. She rubber her fingers down the expensive leather and glanced up at Gale.

ɢαℓɛ laughed quietly as he watched her slide into the passenger seat, nodding to himself. "Yeah, I figured you'd say that. Right. Try and look like you're consoling me as we drive past the cameras on the left of the school gates."
Before sliding in next to her, Gale glanced over his shoulder and crouched down so his head was about level with the steering wheel. He wasn't entirely sure that Riley couldn't see what he was doing, but who really cared? He twisted a few wires tighter together, frowned, then flicked another with an impatient hand. The engine purred to life as he sat back into the seat. "Good girl." Yes, he talked to his car. Well. It wasn't really his car, which Riley would probably work out if she had any brain. There was a destinct lack of keys, and he had just re-hotwired it to start the engine.
Gale revved the engine purely because he loved the sound of it, closing the drive door behind him and grinning to himself. This was going to be a fun ride. "Hold on tight, sparky-girl." He slammed his foot down.

Riley wasn't really aware of the hot wiring, but she did hear some zaps and sounds of satisfaction as she stared out the widow, her nose pressed up against the glass. "Oh yeah. Sorry." She replied quietly, sitting up and looking out the front windshield.

Riley squealed out of joy as they zoomed out of the school gates, her body being thrown back against the seat. She giggled and glanced at Gale, who looked very happy. "This is awesome."
