"Then keep an eye on her for me while I'm gone." Mike said. "I'm leaving next week and I won't be here for six months. If I don't make it in time for the birth, be her partner. You're the only person who can do this. Do you understand?" He said.

Taylor's mom sighed. "Yeah, of course." She said, and Taylor sighed. She knew her mom probably didn't really want to see her.

"You promise?" Mike asked, holding Taylor's hand.

"I promise." Taylor's mom said, and Taylor rested her head on Mike's shoulder.

Mike smiled and rubbed her back, "Bye." He hung up the phone and rubbed her back with both hands.

Taylor sighed. "My dad hates us."

"Well, we'll see about that." Mike smiled and kissed her forehead gently.
