I'm considering getting Pokemon Conquest since I'm a sucker for IRL Japanese history. Is it worth the purchase for someone who has never played the strategy game genre?

I did show some of the characters to my professor who did her dissertation on Hideyoshi. She cringed. I can't say I blame her though Mitsuhide is very pretty.
