What are Fursonas?

No, you can have 2.Some people have LOTS of fursonas. There are no rules when it comes to having/creating a fursona. Plenty of people have more than one, plenty of people create mates for their fursonas and yes your fursona can have a mate that isn't your mate in real life.

A fursona is like your lead charrie that would represent you or else just a charrie that you want on lots of things. Usually they are to represent you but doesn't always have to have the same personality as you.

A fursona is an animal that represents you, which also seems to be a very common rant topic around here =_= If you want to be 100% perfect then you should take 4 or 5 days coming up with it, not have something "unoriginal" like a wolf or cat, have no moderately bright or dark colours lest it be called a gloom or sparkledog, and only have one. But, feel free to absolutely screw that and make up whatever you think looks awesome <3

That all depends on how correct you're trying to be. If you don't want to go deep and meaningful, toss together some colours and give it half a million acessories, call it a fursona and you're done. If you want it to be exactly of you, go ahead. Most people have none or a very lame explanation for how their fursonas relate to them, so as far as I can see, it really won't matter :/

I think that those with two 'sonas, it's generally because they don't feel they can represent themselves with only one.

I've seen much too many people with no explanation about how they're their fursona. >.> It really annoys me.

I don't mind two furries I guess. One can represent you and if you have a boyfriend you can have a male fursona that represents him. That's what I do with my fursona and the mate my friend made for her. That represents me and my boyfriend.

A fursona is YOU as an animal...not just a picture, not just a character but basically think of it like either you as an animal/if you were born as an animal, or a self-portrait of yourself as an animal. ^^ I mean, some people have "mates" for their fursonas, but that's just...well, think about it. A fursona is you, so it would be like having an imaginary boyfriend or girlfriend or whatever, or it might give the impression that you're married or have kids or whatever...and if you're a teenager, that just seems really weird. X3 A good topic to learn about fursonas is this :3

My fursona is basicly me, right down to my hair color and body type. The only difference is in real life I have heterochromic eyes. One is green, one is brown. I gave my fursona all green eyes because its easier for people to draw/remember. Shes a zorse becouse I like horses and I have stripes(striae) in real life.

Mine and my husbands fursonas(his is a golden tiger), He actually hid the engagement ring in a cell phone at christmas. Art is by Jim Groat, artist of the Red Shetland/West Corner of the Park Comics. Jim likes to put jokes in his arts so did the "can you hear me now" one.

I also have a hippogryph and a wolf char, because I like those animals.
