Does anybody know of any kind of young horse by the twin cities in mn i can trade horses with? I have a 10 month old appaloosa that I cant keep. Shes too much for us.

No, none that I know of.....but why don't you try round pen work with her or something....She not even a year, surely a little work could fix her up nicely?

Good and bad news guys.

Bad;
One of our shetlands, Shakira died. They brought her out from across the road to break her foal to lead. As soon as he was taken away, she freaked out. Ran full force into the stall gate and slammed her head into it. She died on Monday morning. Her foal was also sold. She was such a sweet little thing. :c.

I. Got. To. Ride. Arthur. Tonight! Finally. And you know what. He worked really well for me. Collected in a minute, picked up his lope as soon as I touched him. Stayed on the rail, was perfect! My best friend rides with me, and she said she likes how I ride him over the girl I was talking about.

That really stinks, but the horse that died...I would be really upset if that happened at the barn I'm at, but they don't do any breeding at the barn, and it really annoys them when they get a mare that gives birth a few months later but that they couldn't tell was expecting...We have a stallion, though I'm not sure why...he's a barn horse, too. A jumper. I think just once they should breed him with a mare named Lola -she'd be such a great mom- so that the students and boarders can watch it grow, watch the training, and the few times we have birthday parties at the barn, the little kids would love to see it. It would be such a cool learning experience.

No, none that I know of.....but why don't you try round pen work with her or something....She not even a year, surely a little work could fix her up nicely?

Actually I have quite a bit. Problem is, she'll run through the fence whether its on or off.

Maybe hire a different trainer? You train one of theirs, they train yours?

I've thought of that, but ive also tried that. None of them can get it through her head e_e I met somebody online who wanted a nice young project so I told em about Hope. I mean hes young and what I had originally looked for in a horse when getting another but im not so sure about it.

He looks like a good colt personality wise, but he doesn't have good conformation. I would look at some other horses as well, maybe you will find one with decent confo.

Im not really looking for good conformation. Just a good horse than I can train and use for barrels and such. :3

Yes, but good confo helps in that. That horse you were looking at wouldn't be extremely fast in barrels because of his faults. If you get a horse with nice legs, deep heart, short back, and high neck, you can use it for most anything.

He's cute, but not a good build for barrels. He looks more like an English jumper horse then a barrel horse...

Yea I know, but he can also be used as a lesson horse, or a horse for first timers in barrels.

She's pretty, and has a better build, I think....hard to tell with this angle. Lol, she looks like she would be a pain in the butt to keep clean.
