Webface hissed frustratedly. He bit down on the strap, pulling and clawing at it. It tasted disgusting. He reared up on his hind paws, holding the strap in his mouth. The creature pulled one more time, and the strap snapped. Webface scrambled, trying to regain his balance, but the branch swung back and then snapped. Webface came tumbling down with the branch.

Tigermoon

Tigermoon had a sharp inhale as she watched Webface fall from the tree with the branch. She despritly hoped that the tom would be alright, and that the creature would move away quickly, without stepping on her fellow warrior. "Webface! Are you alright!" She screeched so that she could be heard over the sounds of the creature. It had stirred up a good deal of dust, and she couldn't see Webface through the cloud.

Webface was crouched on the ground, his claws dug into the earth under his feet. Every hair on his pelt was standing on end, his tail puffed out to twice its size. His eyes were wide, slightly glazed with shock, and the dust made it impossible to see anything but the shadow of the branch that had fallen. He vaguely felt the tear in his ear, but didn't dare move. He hoped the horse was gone and that he wasn't going to be crushed by it's giant feet. Then he heard Tigermoon, and he cried back faintly in a reply, "O-over here. I'm okay." He finally stood up when he could make out the shadows of other cats. He padded over to them cautiously, his tail was still puffed out. He shook his head, trying to clear it. "I hope I never see one of those creatures again!"

Tigermoon

Tigermoon gave a relieved purr as she saw that her fellow warrior was alright. "Well, let's get back to what we left for." She said, since Webface wasn't injured they could still hunt as they had planned when they left. The clan still needed feeding afterall, regardless of the creature.

Silvermoon

Silvermoon looked relieved as well, but she wasn't as concerned as Tigermoon had been. "Which way should we go, the creature probably scared half the prey in the forest away." She knew that any cats in the creature's path would have avoided it, especially her. She agreed wholeheartedly with Webface when he said he hoped to never see one of those creatures again.

Webface was surprised by how happy Tigermoon seemed. Silvermoon seemed relieved, but Tigermoon seemed very happy. He put the thought out of his mind with a twitch of his ear, and he focused on the problem at hand. "We could probably hunt down by the stream near Fireclan," he suggested. "The prey is always running there." It was one of the best places to hunt, when the water was running.

Tigermoon

"Alright, sounds like a plan." Tigermoon said, starting towards the border near Fireclan and hoping it was far enough away that the creature wouldn't have scared the prey away there too.

Several minutes later, the patrol neared the stream. Tigermoon stopped when she first heard the running of the stream, and began to listen for the tiny noises of prey. Near the bank she heard a frog, and she crept that way, stalking closer to the small green and brown creature. When she was nearly on top of it, she pounced, and landed right on top of it, quickly biting it to make sure it didn't croak again in warning. Leaving it underneath a bush, she continued to hunt in the surrounding forest for more prey. She watched as Silvermoon caught a vole, and deposited it under the bush with her frog. Webface had been right, the stream had been a good place to hunt.

Webface had followed in silence, and soon caught the scent of a mouse. He crouched down, watching it precariously. He sprang, then killed it with a swift bite to the neck. He had tried to catch a squirrel, but he had stepped on a branch and scared it away before he was close enough to pounce. "Fox dung," he murmured. He stood up straight, trying to pick up the sounds of any other prey.

Tigermoon

After catching another lizard and a small snake, Tigermoon grabbed the remainder of her prey and called to the rest of the patrol. "This should be good for today, we should get back to the camp with our prey and report the creature to Miststar." She had checked that Silvermoon wasn't stalking prey before she had called, but they had wandered a bit away from Webface, so she couldn't actually see him. But she knew that he could hear her, since they hadn't gone very far. She sat and waited for him as Silverwind sliently joined her, her vole and a second frog dangling from her jaws.
