What is a Kinfish?

A kinfish is a cat-like creature who have hidden gills, as well as a hidden nose. They're not very big, about a medium sized dog they're max height is a german shepherd. They are not strong enough to lift a human, but they do have powerful legs. They have webbed paws and a special coating on their ears which prevents water from entering. They're very playful and enjoy human company, but they rarely come out by themselves.

to make it easier to navigate, i've broken out the more important pieces about them into different quotes you can either read the basic short one [quoted on all adoption pages] or read all of these below.

Colorations, Rarity and Markings

Kinfish have a max of 6 colors and a minimum of 3

Kinfish are normally bright colors, blue, pink, green, yellow, etc.
Common Colors Bright colors, like blue, pink, green, yellow, red etc
Uncommon Colors Natural colors, like grey or brown.
Rare Colors Little markings, dark colors.
Very Rare Colors All white or all black, NO markings.

Another thing is that ALL kinfish are born white, they take on the markings of another fish/plant/etc they like or they mix them.

Behavior
Kinfish are very playful, yet shy creatures. They will never approache a human by themselves and many people try to capture them. They usually watch from afar, and wait until they'res food or something they can attract themselves too. They will though, stand out in the open and watch you quietly. They have very sharp teeth and are very quick, they're very smart but they do often get caught in steel traps or nets.
They adore being with humans, and always travel in pods (5+ kinfish) around mating season though, they travel in pairs. They are very social creatures and rarely go out alone unless looking for another pod to join.

Diet
Kinfish feed on many things, they're omnivores which means they eat both plants and meat. They prefer to eat soft fruits, fish, bird eggs/birds, bugs/worms, berries, nuts, and certain small mammals (such as mice or moles). Depending on where they live, they can also eat seaweed, shellfish and shrimp/crayfish. They rarely go after lobsters except younger ones, as with crabs.

Enviorment
Kinfish do not strictly live in water, they make their nests/burrows out of sticks in big trees. They're always next to water, preferably large ponds or lakes, but sometimes they live on rocky island edges or by beaches as well. Sometimes like beavers they build a large "lodge" and sleep in that too but they usually only do this when they're raising kits. (kit = baby kinfish)

Choosing a Mate
When choosing a mate, male kinfish try to impress the females. The males are easily identifiable from the females since rather then antennae like things on they're heads they have extra long eyebrows which attracts females. Kinfish stay with they're mates forever unless they lose each other for a very long time or one of them passes away. During mating season the male kinfish do little dances and sing while wiggling their eyebrows. Usually the one with the longest eyebrows is choosen first, and it countiues down the line but some females prefer shorter eyebrows.

• Do not steal/copy/trace the species! You WILL get reported, and you WILL get caught.
• Do not take ANY kinfish that you do not own. [this includes putting it in your signature while trying to adopt it.]
• Do not try to bribe me for a kinfish, you will be banned permantly or for a while.
• PLEASE do not mini-mod!
• Please respect the staff, and all adopters I dont need fights to break out!
• If you can no longer take care of your kinfish, PM me or the artist who created it.
• Currently they're is no adoption limit, but you cannot adopt two kinfish in the same day. Please be considerate of others~
• Do not spam, you'll get a strike/warning from it. This isnt a chatbox, please do not treat it so.
• Edited guest artist forms will not count so make sure you have all the info for them!
• You can apply for more then one kinfish but if they have the same enddate (and you win both) you'll have to choose between them!

Every two weeks, I will select 3-4 new people to be a guest artist. Make sure you fit all of the requirements before you apply!

what do i do?
as a guest artist your are allowed to make ONLY FOUR. Including one for yourself, if you make one for yourself you must make the other three (and you cannot own one either) you can only make a "custom" for yourself after you finished the first 3 adopts. you can do less then four but only if your not making a custom for yourself.
