Toast sighed and flopped onto the ground. It was just his luck, to be born into a family like his and have a fur as drab as mud. He had seen the looks his parents exchanged when they thought he wasn't looking, worry at his fur, which had only become darker and less defined as he aged. Just his luck.
Burague, god of fire and death, picked his way delicatly across the expanse to the front door of the Moon Palace. He stood and waited, patient as stone, for someone to come to the door. The god has buisness with Theo, the Joker King who had mated with the Moonswirl. Gambling, after all, was in his domain. Lying, cheating, and death all rolled into one game. To his surprise, a sulky bland-furred young wolf opened the door. The god was pinned by the lad's bright pink eyes, so different from his own.
Toast hid his surprise badly. He had known that his father was expecting a visitor, but he wasn't prepared for three heads. He wasn't prepared for how the look in those dark eyes made him feel. He shook the feeling from himself as he polietly stepped aside, letting the other enter. Then he took off, paws slapping on the polished granite floors of his parent's manse. He shivered in his room, checking to make sure the corridor outside was empty. What was this feeling? Was it love? How could he feel such a thing for a god? Let alone a male god? Let alone the most feared god there was?
The god couldn't stop thinking of the lad, even as he conducted his buisness. He resolved to visit that night, using his skills to meet the pup in his room. So it was that later that night, he made himself fire and in that fire he moved to the fireplace in the lad's room. He stepped from the flame, drawing on the shadows to condense his body. He could see the expression on the lad's face as he appeared...was it so bad to love?
A month or so later, a pup appeared at the doorway of the Moon Palace. His fur was dull, but patterned with aspects of his grandparents. The moment Toast looked at the pup he knew that it was his, even before the pup opened it's strange, almost dead-seeming eyes. Perhaps it was just his gambler's luck...
((I think Burague is also the god of Manpreg. O-o. All the stories he's a part of so far, two males end up spontaneously having pups. Oy vey, my characters evolve on their own.))
((EDIT: I put in Buroast instead of my extra. XD))
