Outlawed (Version 3)

Emerald watched Frank as he stood and made his way to the front of his cell, clenching her fists around a bar and biting her lip. Everything seemed like a challenge, and she could tell how hard even the simplest tasks were. She wanted to go over and help him, to tell him he'd get better. But metal bars and a jerk stood between them. Her eyes went wide as he offered to work on the boat in exchange for her necklace, and panic rose up in her as Diana spoke too. "No, you two can't do this. You're just a child and you..." she looked over at Frank and frowned. "And you're in no condition to do boat work." With his condition, anything could take him from bad to worse and she couldn't loose him. "Just keep the necklace." she said bitterly to Alsan, looking away from him.

Diana looked over at Emerald with a worried look on her face and looked at Alsan. Diamante let go of Diana and stared at Alsan, crossing her arms. Altair watched, looking at Diana. Diana looked at Emerald, curiously. "didn't that necklace mean something to you?" Diana asked, tilting her head. "it isn't worth risking your life over some necklace." Altair muttered, glaring at Diana. Diana looked at Altair, whimpering a little bit. Why is he looking at her like that?! Did she do something wrong?... "but... but..." Diana tried to say something. Diamante shook her head. "Diana... just... just get some rest. you'll need it." Diana looked at Diamante and frowned. "i'm not tired..."

(guess who's birthday is tomorrow... :3)

Emerald sighed and looked over at Diana, nodding. "It did mean something to me, something important. But what matters is what's going on now and who I have with me now. You all putting yourself in danger isn't worth a necklace, no matter how important." she told Diana quietly.

Diana looked at Emerald and nodded. "yeah... i guess you're right... well, you are right... but if we do manage to get out of here, could we try to get it back?" Diana responded, silently. "from the looks of it... i fear you might not get it back. we don't even have a plan." Desmond says. Diana looked over at Desmond, then back at Emerald. "Desmond's a good thief, though." Desmond's eyes widen. "Diana! don't meantion that now...!" he nearly cried out. "but it's true!" Diana responded. "let's not talk about the past now. i'd rather not speak of that. i'm now the same thief as i was before. who knows what the slave master would do hearing that from you." Desmond shook his head. Diana looked around the place. "this place is a little scary." Altair groaned and rolled his eyes. "now isn't the time, Diana. can you please be annoying some other time?" Diana pouted. "how was that annoying...?!"

Alsan watched them, amused by all they were saying. He moved a bit closer, putting the necklace back in his pocket. "Is it coincidence that the weakest of you are the ones who offer to work with me?" he chuckled, looking at Diana "You whine too much, child. You wouldn´t survive a day of working with me. And you" he stared at Frank "You are not in conditions of working. The only people useful to me are those two" he pointed at Desmond and Altair "And him" he said, pointing at Jack. "But even all of you working for me aren´t worth this piece of precious jewlery" Alsan pulled the necklace out of his pocket again, and then shrugged, putting it back in. "I will keep it, unless of course you come up with a better offer.


Jack watched hatefully, about to offer himself to work. If the necklace was so important to Emerald, then he could endure it, and perhaps it would be a possibility to get them out of there. However, when Alsan said that it wasn´t worth the necklace, he frowned, not knowing whether to speak out or not. If he did, there would be no going back, but there would be the smallest chance of getting the others out. If he could find out where the keys were... maybe Alina knew. Yes, she probably would. Gripping the bars tightly, he decided to speak.
"If I serve you..." he hesitated a moment, and then took a deep breath" for the rest of my life, would you let the others free?" He almost smacked himself for his stupidity, but now he could only wait for the man´s answer.


Alsan turned to face Jack, raising an eyebrow. How very interesting... he thought, taking a step towards him "You are too kind, lad." he said, eyeing his son carefully "And you are injured, and not as valuable as you could be" The slave trader nodded towards his shoulder. "But..." he looked at the others. "I will set the girl, the injured woman, and the eldest man free. They are not too valuable as slaves. I will sell the others, along with the necklace" Alsan smirked, watching as Jack shifted from one foot to another nervously. Was it worth to risk his own freedom for freeing Diana, Diamante and Frank? If his plan worked out as he wanted it to be, they would all go free, but if it didn´t... he sighed, deciding that it was worth taking the risk. Giving a small, imperceptible wink to Emerald, he nodded "I will serve you, sir, if you set them free once we get to France. Otherwise, I will find a way to kill you"

Alsan smiled "You will try to kill me anyway. But you won´t be able to" he laughed wickedly. "You, girl." he said, kicking Alina. "Get me some chains to chain up my new slave. I don´t want to run any risks. I know he will try to get you all free, and that is why he offered his service so generously. But I won´t let that happen" he whispered coldly.

Emerald's head shot up when Jack spoke up, glaring at him with all the anger she could muster. Was he insane! She wanted to reach through the bars and smack him right now. Sadly, she couldn't even reach him. "Jack you're an idiot." she hissed low enough so that Alsan couldn't hear. "You're going to get yourself killed." She sighed then, leaning tiredly against the bars. It was a brave thing for Jack to do, to trade his freedom for three of the others. "I'll work for you too if you let the other two go." she said, nodding towards the other two men. "Think about it. The leader of the world known Hood as your slave. I think that would be something to brag about."

Alsan listened to Emerald´s words, nodding with a smile. It was definitely a risk. Emerald was a well known warrior, and even though he was even more well known for his skill with the blade, perhaps, if she managed to get a sword and free herself from chains, it would be difficult to fight her. But he liked the idea of having her as his slave, at his mercy.
"Very well. They will go free, and you two will work for me. But you will regret this later" his dark green eyes sparkled cruelly, thinking how much fun he would get having more interesting slaves.

Emerald nodded then, looking up at he rest of the Hood and giving them a look that seemed to say that everything was final. "It's settled then." she reached out a hand to the man, looking up at him with confidence. "Shake on it."

Alsan raised an eyebrow. "Yes" he muttered, reaching out his hand and shaking hers. "Now consider yourselves as my slaves. You must obey my orders. And otherwise, you will be whipped, or worse. For now you will work on deck. It must be kept clean, and since you will have your hands chained together, you will not have turns to climb the mast and watch. You will do the work lower down." Alsan turned towards the door, waiting for his slave to come back with the handcuffs that they would have to wear.

Frank scowled at the mans words, but truth be told he wasn't exactly feeling himself but when Emerald and Jack offered their services and their captor accepted Frank almost burst out of the cell "I can't let you" he called croakily "You can't have her" he added with a growl, reaching out t try and wring his scrawny neck, eyes animalistic and wild with anger and a a feeling of betrayel.
