He looks like my siamese girl, but he's VERY light compared to her and even she's considered light.

Mine is a seal-point, though. Unsure of what yours might be, but he's awfully cute.

Any tips on which cage, litter, food ect to get?

Whereabouts are you? I'm in the UK so might not be able to suggest any foods.
You are better sticking to either a good quality rattie mix or even lab blocks... not my favourite food as they do seem a bit boring, but if you made sure to give them a variety of others foods, it would be fine. Mixes made for other animals aren't a good idea, the protien/seed content is all wrong for ratties.

Again I don't know where you are to suggest any cages. As for bedding, sawdust is really bad for ratties respiratory systems. Even if there's no obvious symptoms to start with, even just sneezing, it's not good for them.

I haven't had a problem with sawdust and my vet said it was good for them but I won't judge anyone's comments against others and I think everyone has something to say.

Just my way of staying out of arguments.

All in all I have eight 'breeders' out of my 18 rats.

Oliver OR a random (as in, I'll be buying another good male to help extend my lines more) berk is being bred to Skunk as soon as Syria & Sally's litter's are weaned.

Pistachio is being bred to Somba (when old enough, of course - she's a youngin' still and so is Pist).

Ames is being bred to Spencer.

Savvy is being bred to a male from my friends rattery that carries Siamese in hopes of continuing that beautiful-ness.. =p

Bentley will be bred to Syria within two months of this upcoming litter, and will be her VERY final litter EVER.

None are in order, as I am still figuring out proper dates/months to do all of this. Thinkin' Feb 14th for Ames & Spencer, though. What I'm going to do, is breed those two together then take the least silvered female pup and breed it back to Ames. PROPER inbreeding is GOOD for rat lines, you cannot have a line without some inbreeding or linebreeding, so I've learned. I'm hoping to breed all the silver out of my lines.. as much as I personally find it adorable/beautiful, others do not. ;-; Ames is a fox, though, I swear. Almost perfect silvering throughout his entire coat. He's just stunning.

Ames is also my LOVIEST male, ever. I go to give him kisses, he licks me AND my hands/arms, he's so licky <3 I just adore it. Click.

Haha! My Skunk was named by sister as she apparently looks like a little Skunk. She is my sweety although she is only really small despite being nearly 5 months haha!

Also what do you guys think about the age of breeding a girl? Some sites and breeders say 4-8 months and others say you shouldn't breed until over the age of a year.
