I agree with Season 6. Because of everything that happens. There is no big evil. I mean there's three geeks annoying around, and yet so much interesting happens in it. I like how when Giles leaves everything just falls apart and you really just miss him and want him to come back to fix everything. They're obviously not ready to do it alone... I cheer every time Giles comes back. I love the intensity of the end of the season. The way Willow turns is better than any Supervillain they could ever face. This is a friend, led only by pain and seeking revenge. With a lot of power to do it, too. How do you beat your best friend? ;n; Simple, just stand in the way and tell her you love her. ;;;;; All da Feellllsss!
So yeah, season 6.
Fave eps are Once More with Feeling and Tabula Rasa. x)

There was a reason I got season 6 first, after borrowing all seven seasons of buffy from a friend and watching them.
Season 6 for me I think is the strongest season.
It's not the most fun season, but it hits a lot of emotional notes.
I sobbed my way through most of that season. And but I still have the once more with feeling soundtrack on my ipod.

Yep, season 6 is what got me into Buffy. I'd seen some episodes here and there but when I borrowed that season from a friend I was like 8l I need this.
I do think it's the first season I bought as well x) And then Expanded from there.
I do love the evil trio as well x) They make it all a little less dark while every thing else is going so wrong ;A;
Once more with feeling is an episode I have made all my friends watch, lolz. I was obsessed with it and everyone had to see it whether they liked buffy or not!

My own choice for a favorite season was season six or five. The characters were pushed to their limits throughout season six, which made it a joy to watch through. Yet... season five was great, if for the villian alone. They were up against a literal Goddess, and only Willoe at her worst, consumed by the black magic, was enough to beat her when she was in her true form. That's some serious power, even if her demise made me feel a little robbed. Meanwhile, season six had to follow that up, which it did, and I like to consider it the last season of Buffy after the trainwreck that was season seven. Seriously, season seven was horrid.
Dark Willow, I loved her as a villain. It seemed so wrong but it was just so right. However, I felt cheated when they killed Tara off. Am I the only one who felt that was a cop-out? There were other ways, near death would have pushed the revenge button. Tara dying just made me feel that the writers didn't know how to continue their relationship. They just didn't know how to continue it after everything. I felt cheated, and I still do.
Once More With Feeling is something of a bittersweet flavor for me. It reminded me of The Bitter Suite too much, especially after the other episodes that bore a striking resemblence to Xena episodes. Remember the body swap from season four? Between the foil for the main character and the main heroine? Xena had the exact same episode plot (and, yes, it was done first), and now I just can't fully enjoy those episodes because I can't tell if it's paying homage or copying without shame.
let's live heroically, let's live with style / even if the two of us are torn apart / take my revolution

Lol well I've never really seen Xena so I guess I don't have that problem.
I see where you're coming from on Season 7. It's not as strong as the others.
And I think Tara dying was indeed a pity. But I don't think it's because they didn't know how to continue. It's just what Joss does. At the one moment everything comes together and you get hope that it's going to be all right, they lose each other. (The same happened with Wesley and Fred on Angel. They finally find each other and Fred dies horribly.)
Also Willow would not murder someone for hurting friends. Friends have gotten hurt before and she didn't go off the bandwagon. To turn evil she needed blood lust. She needed not to reach the edge but tip fully over it. Out for revenge. If Tara was just hurt, she'd have gone to the hospital and jeeejj Tara you're alive -sob sob-, and Tara would've been able to stop her. But she didn't survive, she died. Bandwagon -> Leap!
So I get why Tara had to die in order for Willow to completely lose it. (You don't just flay a guy for nothing.) x)
Losing Tara was heartbreaking nonetheless though </3

I love writers that don't mind putting taboo's in their writing either. I guess that's why I like Torchwood better than Doctor Who. And all of Joss's shows
