I winced, feeling Christie touching me. I opened my eyes briefly to look at her. I was shaking violently from my head to down to my toes.

Her shoulder became tight and even more painful as the warm, crimson drops swerved quickly down her soft skin. Annetka couldn't help but whine and tug away from Griffin, her free and unharmed hand gripping her bite wound. Her gaze lifted to look into his as she mumbled, "I had him.."

Christie sniffled and looked him over carefully. "What hurts?" She asked worridly.

We were half way to the house now, but I had put Annetka down in the grass. "Obviously not, considering he didn't have one scratch on him." I said, looking down at her. I was at all mad at her, I had been worried she'd be killed.

 I just let out shaky groan, I couldnt find any words to say. My brain was wiped clean of everything. My head was killing me...

Elisa paused, straining her ears to pick up the sound again. She hesitated, then turned and headed towards the sound, coming across Luke. Her eyes widened and then darted around warily. "L-Luke?" She asked tentatively, drawing closer.

Christie cried silently. "I'm gonna call the hospital.." She whimpered softly.

Focusing on the one who could talk, Elisa walked over and pressed her cell phone into the girl's hand. "Christie, what happened?" She asked more firmly.

She stepped away from Griffin once he put her down, still keeping a good, painful grip on her shoulder. Annetka looked down towards the ground, her gaze empty now. "I had him.." She repeated, this time in an almost silent whisper, as she began to walk forwards on her own. In her eyes, she had completely failed.
