Alice Bane blearily blinked her eyes, rubbing them and wishing she could go to sleep, already. She squinted at the slowly revolving white fan on her ceiling, the blades thrumming through the air lazily and doing nothing to cool her down. She tossed and turned in her bed before throwing back the covers and glaring at the digital clock. It was just barely six in the morning, and Alice Bane hadn't gotten a wink of sleep. Clearly, it would be another bad day at the office. Shaking a hand through her hair--as per her habit--Alice Bane stood and shuffled into the kitchen, throwing open the fridge door to scavenge something to sate her growling stomach; another con that came with not being able to sleep at all.

Unfortunately, the only things that were in the fridge that were remotely edible was a carton of soured milk. Alice Bane gave it a cautious sniff before curling her lip and extending her arm so the thing was as far away from her as possible. Disgusting. She held her breath while she drained the contents down the sink, some lumps squelching and slapping against the bottom. She quickly hosed down the sides with the faucet and used the trash compacter in the drain to take care of everything else while holding back her shivers. Dis. Gust. Ing.

Clearly, there was nothing more for her to do here. Alice Bane decided she would pick something up while she went to the office to see if there was something to do. When you had more than the usual eighteen hour day or so available to you, you kind of went to look for something to take up the time, and Alice Bane's job was about the only thing that kept her busy. Scowling, she went ahead and got ready for the day, shrugging on a brown jacket over her soft gray turtleneck and white jeans combo and snapping the collar before striding out the door.
