Sorry if this is stupid. I'm unclear on how some of the trading system works.
Specific example: You request to adopt a pet from another user (through an adoption thread) day one; day nine and that user has been online multiple times since but your trade has not been cancelled or auto-cancelled or accepted.
Why? Have they not looked at their trades, or is there something else I am missing? Should I assume it is not acceptable and cancel?
Any explanations and/or details of the trading system (including approximate appropriate time frames, I don't want to nag people) would be welcomed.
PM responses are fine, thank you.

PS Why post multiple threads, pretty much all the same? Especially all open at once?
I know a bully when I see one - I spent my life being harassed by them. It's just a pity the management here think youth is an excuse.

From past experience, they'll be pretty busy running an adoption center, haven't had the time to get around to it, etc. There's nothing you can really do about this but PM them and ask for them to consider your request. ^^

There's many different types of trading, Auctions, Competitions, Normal Trading etc. It depends on which area you would like to be explained to you. I'll happily explain the normal trading system, and go into the other places of trading if you would like to PM me about it. C:

Do you mean adoption centers?
If they have multiple threads that are all the same, I would honestly just report it and leave it up to the mods - they already have a similar adoption center, no need for another.

Im not sure if this is the right place to post this but what is the difference of merging accounts and just playing on the same one. Sorry if this is ignorant.

The difference is basically that merged accounts have two people (they often talk to each other about trades before editing/cancelling/accepting them), have the pets + items of the two people, a shared inbox and email (in case something happens, for example, one person changed the password and didn't notify the other person, who could log into the email and change it back), whereas a person on a single account has their trading center, inbox, pets, and items to themselves.

There isn't really any benefit of a merged account unless your partner is more active than you are, in a different time-zone, and can hunt for pets and items during events. ^^

Both accounts (merged or not) can only adopt 1 set of monthly newborns, if you're wondering. Also when players "merge", warnings are transferred as well.

Hope this helped.

Another question (again I'm sorry if it's been asked but I can't find anything using search): what is the difference between a topic encouraging spam bumping, and a topic that says 'free pets, just bump'?
So, on this site, what constitutes spam?

Spam here on CS is basically just pointless bumping (e.g. When your trading topic falls off the first page), completely unrelated talk in a thread (e.g. I start talking about squirrels in the trade rant thread), or advertising for another site/trading thread where it's not supposed to go, etc.

In the Chickensmoothie free adoptions, if a adoption center asks you to bump the thread if you adopt pets from it, that's perfectly fine, whereas a topic that encourages unnecessary bumping even when it's on the front page of its forum is not since it's serving no real purpose other than to push other threads off the front page.

Just adding to what Fattu said: Encouraging spam is like "Person who posts fifth on the twentieth page" since there has to be so many posts. Posting in a free adoption thread shows the owner that you saw their thread so they know you aren't just asking for free pets without reading their adoption rules.

Thanks all, I couldn't believe the bumping that goes on around here at first. If it is (random) free pets, but not an adoption centre, is that still OK? You'd get a mix of bumps (some very close and some quite a distance) with that?
