Featherpaw stumbled backwards, she looked at Riverpaw for a moment. " No problem Riverpaw, was there something you needed? " She asked calmly.

Petalnose was still looking at the lake, she loved how the water glimmered in the sunset light, she looked at Hawkfeather and flicked her tail. " Is something wrong? "

Riverpaw was captivated by her eyes. "Er, no."

He jumped. "Not at all!" Hawkfeather lied. If she figured him out, he'd have to admit to his feelings.

Petalnose went closer and sat down, she narrowed her eyes. " You sure? " She pressed, still wondering if there was something wrong.

" Okay. " Featherpaw mewed, she smiled then padded toward the fresh-kill pile.

Hawkfeather sighed. "I give up! You'll win anyways." He took a deep breath and looked into her eyes. "Petalfur, I love you. More than you can imagine. I just din't know how to say it." he looked at his shuffling paws.

Riverpaw sighed. He blew his chance. He wanted to try again. He padded to the freshkill pile and got a mouse he took to a spot that could clearly be seen but he was alone. He started to eat.

"Can Riverpaw and Echopaw, please come up with their mentors?" Icestar called out.

Featherpaw glanced over at Riverpaw, he must be getting his warrior ceremony, she kept the mouse she picked out in her jaws, she went and sat down to watch the ceremony.

Petalnose pawed at the ground nervously. " You really love me? " She asked.

Riverpaw, Echopaw, and their mentors stepped up.

"Yes, I do Petalnose. More then you can imagine."

Petalnose's eyes clouded with happiness, she felt she had loved Beatlewing, but it was Hawkfeather she loved all along. " I love you too. " she purred.

Featherpaw put the mouse at her paws and looked up at Icestar.

Hawkfeather was thrilled he rubbed his nose against Petalnose's and purred.
