The Hallways at Magnus Monastery are a very beautiful and wonderous things, if not slightly intimidating; they stretch atleast 20 feet across and nearly three stories high. The floors are an elegant polished cream marble, with veins of gold and grey stretching through them, the walls where the same great slate that the mysterious school was built from, but the things that hung from the wall where something very unique; denpending on what tower or wing you where in, the theme of the walls would change.
The heart of the school was always draped in angelic, rich golds and red; extravagant, magnificent and commanding tapestries hung from the walls, some reaching from floor to ceiling, great depictions of past battles, scholarly achiements, magical beasts and festivals where directly embroded onto them. The high domed ceilings were often painted with astounding murals, and hung great chandeliers from their rafters.
It was one of these awe inspiring hallyways that Sophie was making her way down. The tapping of shoes against marble was heavily muffled, due to the fact that the marble she was walking over was covered in a thick, worn out red carpet. Thousands of students had walked over this carpet, it was allowed to be a little worn out.
Sophie gave another sleepy yawn, brushing a stray peace of lint from her long black pants; she had opted for them instead of the skirt for a simply reason. Skirts where dangerous, that, and they where uncomfortable.
The danger of skirts was a common problem that most girls knew about and most guys eagerly anticipated; the accidental flash. Bend over to pick something up and your skirts just not quite long enough? Accidental flash. You go to uncross your legs and you open them up just a bit to much? Accidental flash.
Sophie did not want to go anywhere near an embarrasing incident like that, so she stuck to a red tie and black pants. She gave an aggrevated huff as she once more shoved the sleeves of her blazer up to her elbows, she detested anything laying over her forearms, it was just so irratating.
She ran her right hand through her wet hair, a nervous habit she'd always possed, it generally only appeared when she was nervous, stressed, or tired.
"Narhak ti ron du fan" Sophie murmed under her breath and a spark of magic ignoted under the skin of her left hand, running the same hand through her hair again she felt the water heat and evaporate from her hair, continuing this method until she was left with prefectly dired hair, Sophie gave a smile, please with the results.
"Ah, Good morning, Young Lady, I hope this morning sees' you well." Came the old drawls of Mrs. Brooker, snapping Sophie from her daze.
Sophie stopped and gave a respectful lowering of her head before she answered.
"Yes, I'm feeling fine, Mrs. Brooker." she intonned lightly, after Mrs. Brooker had given her a nod she moved past the teacher.
What she faced was a set of gigantic oak doors, they where atleast two stories high and 40 feet across, but what always stunned her when she saw this door was the breath-taking carving of a luminous and majestic tree, but what really got her was the exquisite details; a plethora of magical animals and species littered the tree, it was truly beautiful.
Sophie was broken out of her daze as she felt her stomach remind her that she was hungry, so leavign the viewing of the carved tree for another day, Sophie strode towards the base of the trees trunk, right towards the large seam seperating both doors and bisecting the huge tree straight down the middle; there on ether side of the doors was another set of doors, these ones, while no doubt larger then your average door, where still tiny compared to pair they where set into.
The large cast iron doors where covered in what looked like celtic knots, what they meant, she didn't know and didn't particulary care. Moving through the now open doors she walked right into the Great Hall.
The Great Hall stretched atleast 50 feet, and was 40 feet wide, several large dark tables stretched all the way along it's length. Just like the Hallways the Great Hall was covered in beautiful paitings and tapestries, suites of armour and the like. Directly down the end was a large ornate white wood table, the legs where made out of what looked like twisted roots growing direstly out of the floor; it was certainly a much more delicate and elegant table then the others, that was the Head Boy and Girl and the Prefects table.
All and all, the first time she had seen the Great Hall that someone had made the off handed comment of 'What the hell is this? It looks like Harry Potter!' One of the teachers had become a little huffy at that point in time and had promptly told the boy 'Wizards have been around a lot longer then Harry Potter, Boy!'
Making her way to a table Sophie sat down on one of the benches lining the tables. She also loved eating here, the food was amazing and so well prepared, they had food from all over the world, and even magical foods aswell, the school did, afterall, need to cater to every spieces diet.
There was fresh growing flowers seemingly growing straight out of the tables for the pollen eaters, a collection of fruits and vegetables' scattering over the tables in bowls and plates for the herbivores, a mass of meats, both raw and cooked for those who ate it, dishes of both hot and cold and different ingredients let their delicious odours form like scent clouds that wafter over the Great Hall, great pitchers of liquid lined the table tops, jugs of syrups, water, juices and others; but what had alot of people put off were the great big wine bottles that seemed to hold something that looked that looked like liquid cherries.
It wasn't.
No, these bottles were filled with blood, afterall, even vampires needed to eat, but i'm not saying the scent or the sight didn't have many students running to the bathrooms; she generally didn't care, she only becamse grossed out when a non-blood drinking student though it was some kind of juice.
Thank god she had never done that.
And with that Sophie sat down to enjoy a meal of great food and enjoy herself.
((Hey guys! Feel free to decorate the school! This is your RP as much as it is mine, if I really don't like soemthing, which would be never, I'll PM you about it. And on that note, if someone has described something, you can't describe it any differently. By the way, unless I forgot to put it in the rules, you are allowed to have animals with you in the hallway, alot of students have them wait outside the classrooms.))
((OH AND ANOTHER THING! THIS IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR! Just to let you now! xD And I added a new rule '-You must never let a human find out about the supernatural community.' in this RP humans do not know about supernatural creatures. I thought I hinted at that with the 'How to hide your secrets from humans' But I thought I should have it in writting for just in case, I also updated some RP rules, so please take a quick second to re-view them, as they pretain to how the RP will be played.))
