"By being born a Contractor...." Aurora muttered, moving her hands away from his eyes, but keeping her forehead gently pressed against his.

Shadow smiled " I'm sure you'd be able to do it even without. "

"How? No one would want to help me..." Aurora muttered, black liquid running from her sown eyes.

Shadow stroked her hair " so bitter." he said softly " have you ever tried?"

"No...." Aurora admitted quietly, more of the liquid streaming from her eyes. "But knowing my luck...no one would accept my pleas for help..."

Shadow took a cloth from his pocket and cleaned her face gently " you believe this, but have never experienced it?"

Aurora only slowly nodded, not coming up with the right words. She lifted her face so Shadow could get to her eyes better.

Shadow got the stuff off and put the cloth on the ground.

Aurora gently pressed her forehead against Shadow's. "You've fallen from grace...and yet you still know compassion for such lesser and cursed beings like me..." she whispered.

Shadow shruggedvp " being fallen doesn't mean you must be a devil. Although some live by that rule."
