Quite number of people outside the Council knew, although the Council had tried to prevent that. But it was hard when their numbers kept dwindling. Especially since usually it wasn't another Council Member to find a dead one, it was some Lithius. Or person in off the street. The local idiotic police had tried to get invovled. That was quickly stopped. It was already an embarrassment that they couldn't keep themselves safe, no need for humans to begin interferring. Skye was oblivious to the world. But that was good. Staying that way might help him keep what little innocence he had left. If Skye could really be called innocent. Skye may hate Augstus blaming himself for everything, but it would take a very determined and hard working person to get Augustus to stop. It was hard to reverse years of effects like that, after all, as everyone knew with Skye. No one could even think about changing any effects that Adelle had done to him after the few years of torture she had given him. So unless Skye was determined, which actually could be said about him....so more like: Unless Skye was hard working, he wouldn't be able to. Yelling at Auggie wouldn't have the desired effect. Nor would slapping or harming him. In fact, that would just make him think all the more that he was to blame for whatever it was he was blaming himself. It was good that bits of Skye's feelings lingered from his toddler-like state. Otherwise he surely wouldn't like Augustus clinging to his hand so. Or perhaps since he had gone through so much he wouldn't have minded that, but he was holding onto the bear.....and since it had become habit for Augustus, Skye could his head, or forehead, or nose, to be kissed. Sadly Augustus couldn't stand to do that....or perhaps not so sadly for Skye. Little Skye might just have to suck up his arrogance, Augustus gave just about everyone a nickname. Skye was special and got unique nicknames. Most just got, 'my friend' like Sion. "I will, dear child. He will not bother you any longer, until I can get you back to Wren." No comment on the 'its not you fault.' Especially since he thought Skye was just saying that to....say it. Though that didn't make sense that Skye would waste his breath and energy on that, if Augustus took the time to think of it. Skye did indeed need sleep; Augustus did too. Everyone did, after dealing with Caesar. Watching Skye's eyes travel the length of his arm, Augustus gave Skye's hand a gentle squeeze. "As you wish. I will be by your side the whole time, and I will be here when you wake." After saying something to one of the medical Lithius, Augustus watched as they put something into the young child's system. Lifting the boy's hand, Augustus gave it a quick kiss. "Sleep and rest in peaceful slumber, dear little one. Know you are fine and safe~"

Throw people like Jan into the mix, it was surprising that most people didn't know about the deaths in their numbers. Like how he had found information on Rei, he had been asked to find things out about the Council before too, avoiding more touchy subjects like the black hand as best he could. Skye knew absolutely none of this. He had just lived his -rather chaotic- life. Not being able to read English helped with keeping him oblivious, naturally. One could expect Skye to constantly argue with Augustus about who's fault it was for everything that happened to him; like Sion, Skye would refuse to accept that it was anything but entirely Caesar to blame. Luckily Skye was both weakened and used to the general rule of 'if I hit you, you'll hit back' given the people he had been trapped with as of late. Since he both had nothing against Augustus and knew somewhere in his mind that council members were weird hybrid Natural Lithius or something, Skye certainly didn't want to be hit back. Thus, that wouldn't be happening, and Skye might actually manage to get a message across to the boy. Unlikely, but maybe.
It seemed like both Skye and Augustus were going to have to get used to the other now that Skye had snapped out of it; Skye far from liked little kisses and the nicknames. He was about to say something about it again, when Augustus mentioned Wren. To be honest, Skye hadn't thought about that boy yet, but he hadn't be awake and in control of his mind long. "So he's alive?" Skye exclaimed, before struggling for breath again. Happy tone = too much effort. Before he could say anything more, Skye saw Augustus talk to one of those Lithius around them, and hardly a moment later tiredness struck again. His hands loosened from clenching on Augustus', and he barely even noticed the older boy kiss one. Hearing about half of what Augustus said, Skye smiled faintly, before falling unconscious.
Safe from Caesar Skye may have been, but not from his own mind. One didn't come out from torture at the hands of Adelle, then Mark, and then Caesar still without some problems. The nightmares from Adelle had mostly faded over the few years afterward, and post-Mark and during his time suffering at the hands of Caesar, Skye was a toddler. Right then though, Skye was back to 'normal', and had been dumped into water, which was an instantaneous flashback to the former of the three, on top of finally being able to look back at everything that had happened over the past month or two. Enough already said, Skye had fairly terrible nightmares, most of them being back with Adell, which were some of the worst things a person could imagine. Thrashing in his sleep and giving the occasional faint cry had, naturally, caused a bit of a stir among the medical Lithius that insisted on swarming the injured. Skye had been out a long while during which who knew what had been done to his lungs, but he didn't need help breathing anymore, which was a good thing; otherwise Skye would have been half dead then, as panic makes a person breath faster. When he finally opened his eye and looked around, Skye was covered in a cold sweat and shaking visibly. He was searching for something, or something, that would tell him he was far away from Adelle, Mark, and Caesar, perhaps Augustus or just something he knew. Instead, Skye's gaze landed on one of the Medical Lithius, a female with red hair.
Which naturally caused anything but comfort. Skye recoiled backwards, and started screaming something along the lines of 'Don't hurt me!' over and over again in a frantic mix of German and English.

( It's about time those screaming nightmares I mentioned came into the RP. xD )

A few people knew about the deaths. Augustus truly didn't care if anyone knew about those deaths. He just wanted to make sure no one knew about the circumstances and reasons behind those deaths. No one needed to know. Those who did, were promptley disposed of. No one could know about what happened around those deaths. Besides. Soon enough they would be a thing of the Council's past, and no one would care about it any longer. Right? Jan would do well to stay away from researching that topic. It was more touchy then anyone realized. Those who had found out any information that related too deeply to it who weren't supposed to have known? Disappeared without a trace, never to be seen again. Oooohhh. Spooky. Sounded like a bunch of crap, didn't it? The big mystery, the curse that would kill you if you discovered it. The boogy monster that would come and get you if you found out too much. Eh. Believe what you wanted. Augustus knew the truth. That was all that mattered. After all. He was the keeper of the files. It would be a shame if he didn't know something as simple as this, right? Really. It would take an idiot to not know every detail of something they were involved in. "Yes. He's alive." Auggie confirmed quickly, before watching as the young child gave a little smile before he fell asleep, Auggie gave his own smile, before turning around and leaving the room. Yes, he had promised Skye that he would be by the boy's side constantly. However, he needed to grab his tablet and a few things from his room, make a few phone calls, talk to a few people...all this was done quickly and urgently. Now that he was stuck in a wheelchair...some things needed to be canceled, other things reschedualed. Checking up on a few other things....Augustus missed the nearly the whole thing of Skye being asleep, although he would learn of it once he returned to the room. Some things weren't going as planned. Which deeply upset him. The whole time he took only one break, and that was only so that he could keep control of his temper. The people he met were obviously surprised to see him in a wheelchair. Though they shouldn't be, given Caesar's reputation. Each time he assured them that things could continue as planned, and each time no one left. Finally returning to Skye's room, he was troubled to learn of the boy's reactions to his sleep. Auggie couldn't imagine what kind of nightmares the boy was having. Nor did he want to. So while watching over the young child, Auggie typed into his little tablet, making notes, muttering things to himself, making revisions and edits when needed, before saving it. Now that all the 'major' things were done, he had time to do the 'minor' things. Until one of the other Council Members came and took him to the hall. "Augustus. It has come to our attention of your new....circumstances. We are grateful for what you can do, of course. But after our meeting-" The other Member was interrupted there by a quite startled and slightly furious looking Augustus. "Yes, I may be in a wheelchair for the time being. But I am still one of the higher Members of this Council! When the Council is called to a meeting I expect to be present at this! And need I remind you all that if it weren't for me and my assignment, you might just be the one in these....'circumstances?' Is that how you had put it?" All this was said with his usual calm tone, though it wasn't hard to see that Augustus was upset. "Augustus. We understand. But you are incapable of doing things that you used to do. Prior to all of this with Caesar. And we are not just talking about your new situation with being unable to move from the waist down. We are talking about Caesar's worsening moods. We, the Council," at that Augustus gave a huff. He was a part of the Council after all. This other Member as talking as if he weren't, "believe it is in the best interests of everyone for you to fully take on the responsibility of the caretaking of Caesar. That is where your talents lie, and we believe it is the best course of action. His moods have become increasingly difficult for anyone else to handle. And truthfully, I do not see you being able to do anything else. We call for respect. It is hard to respect someone of the Council like you, as a leader, if you are....well frankly, unable to move." At that, Augustus turned a terribly embarrassed red. That wasn't true. Surely it couldn't be. Just because he might be stuck in this chair for a while...it didn't mean anyone would respect him less! They couldn't look down at him just for this.... He could still do everything needed to be on the Council. Yet before he had a chance to make any defense or reply, the other Council Member was continuing. "So, we feel Augustus, that it is better for a new and fully healthy Purebred to take your place. You have served us well. Now you should retire from this position, and take the new one." Oh yes. Take the new job that no one else wanted. That would get him killed someday. That had landed him in this position in the first place. Babysit Caesar. Did no one realize that this was what he had done ever since he and Caesar could walk and talk? Augustus was already pretty much Caesar's full-time babysitter. Now they were taking away his other responsibilities? Not having even a chance to defend himself, a Servant Lithius was coming up beside him, telling him Skye was awake and....having troubles. He'd have to deal with this other situation later. Skye came first. Skye came above all else right now. But really? He was being taken off the Council so that no one else had to babysit Caesar? That was a possible death sentence for himself. Oh Wren....how badly he needed that boy's help in possibly securing a way to control Caesar's mind. Shamefully rolling himself into Skye's room, he took a minute to asses the situation. For some reason, Skye kept saying 'don't hurt me' over and over, in mixed languages, to someone in the room. Augustus eyes traveled to see what Skye was looking at, to see him staring at one of the Medical Lithius. A female. Red hair. Ah....Augustus immediately understood. "Leave. You are relieved of this duty." The female quickly turned to leave, before Augustus added, "I also recommend you do not return. For the young child's saftey as well as your own." Augustus didn't make threats, but it was a simple reminder....Dipping his head to the girl, he watched her leave, before pushing himself over to the side of Skye's bed. Reaching out a hand and gently grabbing Skye's, Augustus tried to quiet the boy down. "Skye. Litte one. It's fine. I am sorry I was not here when you woke like I had promised. But I am here now. Please, little child. Calm down."

Skye had learned a long time ago the allies were never to be trusted and could betray someone at a moments notice, generally with no more caring then an enemy would have. It was a harsh view on people, but Skye's opinion was completely justified after the years of what he'd gone through. That was probably one of the reasons he had so few people he could stand, who now numbered three: Wren, Sion(give or take, but the boy was trying to keep him alive), and Augustus. It was awfully few for a sixteen year old boy, but there was nothing to be done about that; Skye only talked with people he didn't know when he wanted something from them, whether that be information or amusement. Just about the only thing Augustus and Skye had in common was trauma. Augustus was calm, caring, an information-gatherer, and generally against all violence. Skye was an aggressive, oblivious, and highly immature boy. Opposites that only had a terrible past to share. Augustus had Caesar, Skye had Adelle. Caesar was alive and Adell wasn't, true, but as shown from Skye's reactions her legacy certainly hadn't faded. The nightmares that had kept him thrashing through those fitful hours of sleep had been a terrifying mix of everything Adell did, with a bit of Mark thrown in, and a few of the particularly traumatizing memories from Caesar, all relived in rapid succession. Waking up to see a girl with red hair, even if she looked little like Adelle had in any other sense, had caused Skye's already shaky mind to freak. Looking around and not seeing the older Lithius he knew or Sion, just strange people and a medical room, did little to make the fear go away. Only seeing 'Adell', Skye didn't notice Augustus enter the room, focused only on pleading her to please, please not hurt him again. When there was a touch on his hand, Skye had cried out and nearly pulled away, thinking it was her, magically teleporting over to his side. When she left the room, Skye relaxed slightly, but his terrified glazed-over gaze showed it was not easy to just push away those fears. Hearing someone speaking to him, a voice that even a scared Skye could never mistake for Adell's cruel, very different tone, Skye's head snapped to the side to see who had spoken. Augustus, Skye realized after a moment. What was he doing here? Adell... something.. he just couldn't straighten it out in his mind yet. Instead, Skye, no longer too weak to sit up, reached over and wrapped his arms around the boy like a vice, burying his face into the boy's shirt. A toddler no more, true, but Skye was still following the logic of 'I can't see her, she can't see me'. "Augustus... Adell... she's...." Skye couldn't manage anymore then that, switching to English and not even realizing he had. A remnant of Adell again, who had told him -more like ordered- to speak only what she could understand, which meant no German, and at the time Skye barely knew any English, which was a bit of a problem to say the least. Right then though, Skye was fluent, so at least he was talking. "Keep her away... please..." Skye begged into Augustus' shirt, not yet understanding that Adell had never really been there and the dream was over.

Augustus knew that there were bad people in the world, he lived and loved and was related to one of the worst. He had experienced things no one should have to go through. Yet he still trusted everyone, until they proved that they could not be trusted many times over. Or, perhaps, a better way to say what Augustus felt was that he gave everyone the benefit of the doubt until he had no choice otherwise. Those who crossed him....crossed him hard. Auggie was a tolerant person. He could take a lot of [censored]. But when he cracked, he cracked hard. I mean really, one person could only take so much. Augustus was a good kind hearted person. Not many people hated him or tried to hurt him. Who would be mean enough to hurt someone that would help you with anything and everything that they could? Who automatically always called someone 'my friend'? Who would give his life for a stranger on the street? Someone who had given the use of his legs and the chance of being able to walk, so that Sion and Skye would live? Augustus was different in comparison to Skye. Skye was arrogant, aggresive, oblivious, immature, and could be said as selfish too. Auggie was anything but those things. Then again, the saying was that opposites attracted one another. If only Skye knew just how much Augustus cared for him.... Caesar was alive. And due to some odd thing in Augustus' mind he couldn't kill his younger half-brother, the one he had loved so dearly, and still loved. But poor little Skye, being forced to relive the terrible and horrific things he had gone through with Adelle and Caesar, hell Mark didn't even count in comparison to those two, not being able to escape....When Skye wrapped his arms around him, Augustus gave a faint yelp, quiet but still there, before he nearly burst into tears. Being stuck in a wheelchair with nothing but pain only made touch all the more....terrible. He couldn't escape from it. He could so easily be pinned down....be chained to this death-chair...oh god. Caesar. NO. Suddenly Skye was Caesar, intrapping him....going to live through all that hell again...oh god...the chair...it was too restricting, it was going to trap him and he'd never be able to leave. Then Skye's voice reached him, and Augustus' arms wrapped tightly around the other boy, burying his own head into Skye's. Taking a moment to breathe and calm himself, to show his mind that he wasn't going through those terrible moments that Caesar had put him through.... Kissing the side of Skye's head, Augustus just held Skye. "It's fine, little one. Just fine, child. Adelle is dead. She will never hurt you again. I will never. Ever. Ever let anyone touch you again, Skye. Not if I can help it. I will protect you, my dear little child." Augustus just continued to hold Skye gently but firmly against him, his own face buried into Skye's hair. "Do not worry, little one. She will not touch you. She is gone, my child."

Skye knew full well there were bad people in the world; hell, in most ways of looking at it, he was one of them. Unlike Augustus though, Skye didn't trust people. Augustus was the first in years that Skye actually wasn't suspicious of and expecting the worst, after all hew as crying into his shirt right then. Something about owing the boy for saving him from Caesar, even when he had just been a clueless toddler who had never seen him before, had done that. Sion had done it by trying to save his life, even with what Caesar had demanded that first night for his life. Likewise, Wren had done it by getting him away from Adelle. Clearly, it took a good bit to win Skye's trust. Like previously said, Skye and Augustus were total opposites. Skye was selfish, Augustus was selfless. Auggie seemed to put everyone else's life first, Skye put his before anything else. Caesar being alive would haunt Skye for years, without a doubt. Adell being alive had given him about six years of hell, unable to turn his back towards anything for fear of her appearing. The idea that Caesar would still be breathing, still knowing and able to see what had happened, was a terrifying one for Skye. Hearing Augustus' yelp added to his fear, not understand why the older boy had cried out. Normally Skye would have understood that Augustus hated to be touched, of all people Skye could notice that, but he was blinded by fear of Adell right then. Hearing someone else say that Adell was dead, Skye couldn't trust his own mind telling himself that, Skye's crying slowly slowed, his small self's shaking growing less spastic. This was reality, Adell was long gone, what she had done was... six years ago. Six long years ago, it should be far away by then. Caesar though, oh god... but Caesar wasn't there. Adell was dead, damnit... Skye just tried to keep telling himself that, with a bit of success now that his mind wasn't that of a toddler. Making his breathing slow down from it's rapid pace, which was hurting his lungs and making him feel like he couldn't get enough air, Skye tried to talk and failed. Just staying there, being held by one of extraordinarily few people he liked, unable to see the world around him, sounded like the best thing he could do. And so Skye stayed like that, trying not to cry anymore, while mentally shouting at himself that Adell was dead, that he had seen her die, that there was no possible way for her to be there. Finally pulling away, Skye forced a small smile onto his face, sitting back on the bed. He had finally put together that he could easily be hurting Augustus, gripping onto him like if he let go Adell would surely pull him away. "Sorry... I... nevermind. Embarrassing moment, eh?" Skye added the last bit with an unsure little laugh, because thinking about it yet again Augustus had seen him screaming at air, and he was far from a toddler then.

It seemed that most people in that area knew, however sadly, that there were bad people. Skye, in quite a few ways, was one of them. But then one just had to look at Caesar, or Adell, and Skye wasn't such a bad person anymore. In fact, he was pretty angelic in compairison. Who knew why Auggie felt like he could trust people. Trusting Caesar had been one of the worst moves of his life. It had given him many wounds and terrible nights, and more then a few times had put his life at risk. Like right then. Then again, it wasn't as if he had been trusting Caesar when the boy had dropped him into the room and nearly squished him to death. Augustus was someone anyone could trust. Easily Skye could, after everything that had happened and that Auggie had done for him. It did take a good bit to get Skye's trust, obviously if Skye only trusted three people. Then again, Skye needed to realize that Augustus was related to Caesar. He was a part of the Council. Skye would never be quite safe with him, no matter what. Auggie, of course, would do his best to protect the boy and keep him safe and alive. But there was only so much he could do to protect someone like Skye. Especially when you would be hunted for being on the Council. Augustus had done some things that he wasn't proud of, but it had been for the best. He had done it to protect others. Continuing to hold onto Skye as the boy's crying slowed, Augustus himself almot began crying. But he had no reason to. "She's dead, Skye. She wont ever come back. But I will always be here to help you through those times." Kissing the top of Skye's head, Auggie pulled his own head away from being buried into Skye's. This time was or comforting Skye. Not him. But oh god. He couldn't take it. He was stuck in this wheelchair for right now.... When Skye pulled away, even smiling somewhat....Auggie had to admit the boy was pretty brave. Though he did wish he could still be holding Skye. It was really the only comfort he had. Holding onto the one person....that he could stand touching him, right then he wanted nothing more then to hold Skye in his lap. "No. Please speak your mind to me, little one. Of all people you should to speak everything and anything to, it is me, no? Embarrassing moment? Not in the least. Adell was a terrible....horrific monster, child. I am surprised you have this much control. Though I do not understand fully the horrors you went through, I can understand... somewhat." Admittedly, Augustus had a pretty high pain tollerance concerning certain things. So Skye could hold on tightly as he wanted. Offering Skye an encouraging smile, it slowly faded. Oh god. He needed to get out of this chair. He needed to get out. Caesar. Caesar coud much too easily trap him to this...oh god...trying to cross his legs, to do anything to keep them together and not let anyone be able to do anything to him...he couldn't. No.... please no....Which only intensified his fear even more. The whole time this was going on in his mind, all Auggie was doing was staring ahead at nothing tears coming to his eyes. This contraption he was stuck in....it was a nightmare. Worse then any nightmare. And he was going to be stuck in it....babysitting Caesar....Caesar would surely catch on, surely understand just what he could do to Auggie being stuck in that chair. Horrified at the very thought, Auggie tried to snap himself out of it by looking at Skye, putting on his usual 'calm' face.

In comparison to Caesar or Adelle, anyone would seem angelic, and Augustus would be positively god-like. But it was kind of hard to compare anyone to those two, given just how terrible both were, and Adelle didn't even have the excuse of being insane to partially justify what she had done. Augustus being hunted for being on the Council wouldn't be something Skye cared much about, do remember he had spent the past six or so years with Wren, one of the most hunted individuals ever to live. After that, Skye just dealt with that. He had with Sion too, who had his murderous sister after him. Augustus being a member of the council wouldn't be something Skye would worry about, and not knowing anything about the Council would help with that. Hearing Augustus keep saying that Adell was dead and gone helped Skye stop crying and make himself realize those terrible memories were a long time ago, and Adell gone with them. Brave, Skye? No, not really, just he had far too much of his strange little pride to let himself sob in front of Augustus. The smiling was forced, of course; like Auggie, he was fighting away terror. It was that idiotic pride of his that kept Skye from saying in Augustus' arms, despite feeling far safer there then back in his bed. The red-haired girl was gone though, which made things much easier. It was sad really; aside from the red hair and being female, Adell and whoever that was had next to nothing in common appearance-wise. Pulling the blanket that had been on the bed around himself unconsciously, there wasn't missing Skye's tight grip on the blanket. He was still far from calm, after all. Hearing what Augustus said, Skye managed another shaky smile, before shaking his head. "Embarrassing. I'm sixteen after all..." Like said, an arrogant teenager's pride resided in Skye's young mind. "Adell... she gave 'horrific monsters' nightmares." Skye answered grimly, briefly showing yet again just how terrible she had been. Hearing that Augustus could understand 'slightly', for once Skye actually understood. Looking back through his vague memories that his toddler self had put together, it wasn't hard to see that Caesar kept tormenting Augustus. Having spent a great many years around traumatized people, even if not to the same extent Wren had gone through a good bit too for example, and it wasn't hard for Skye to see when people were hiding hurt. He just usually didn't give a damn. But Augustus he did care about, so Skye reached out and gently grabbed Augustus' hand, his face serious for once. "I can imagine... if Caesar's anything like what she was..." It was said as a whisper; Skye always thought that talking about Adell would make her appear somehow. Looking away from the boy and staring at the wall, Skye actually said something that wasn't his usual sharp or terrified comment, but rather nothing more then wonder. "Why do you stay here? If you can just leave... why don't you? Change your name, try to forget..." Skye saw no shame at all in running away, that was exactly what he had done several times over.

Augustus was pretty angelic and god-like, not that he would ever say he was of course. But come on. The dude had the face of an angel, the personality of a god, and the wings to prove his angelic state. If that wasn't enough, then who knew what was. It was hard to compare anyone to those two, Adell had been just completely sadistic and had had no excuse of 'well she has insane fits.' Had Adell even been a Natural-Born? Did she even have that excuse? Caesar had several 'excuses' for him being the sadistic and demented child he was. Though even those weren't enough. Auggie would love nothing more then to just leave with Skye. Leave it all behind. But would Skye even want that? Surely Skye didn't....feel like Auggie did? No. Skye trusted him, and was like a young child. That was how their relationship would stay. As tempting as it would be to leave...Ah. Everytime he thought about it, Auggie knew he couldn't. Who would watch over Aleia? Who would babysit Caesar? Who would contain the files? Who would watch over the Lithius community like he did, and make sure that the worst of them all were eliminated, so that others could have peace of mind and be free? Auggie couldn't leave his work. If anything he needed to stay so that Skye could be safe. So that he could have the connections and power to watch over Skye and be his guardian. Bravery. Pride. Sometimes they were the same. Or more correctly, sometimes pride overtook one's self and could become bravery, no matter how stupid it sometimes was. "No." Augustus corrected Skye sharply, shaking his head. "Not embarrassing one bit. You are sixteen. I am twenty-four. Yet from what happened to me, I curl up in a corner and cry. When others touch me, I freak out. Would you, watching me, say that that was embarrassing?" Hopefuly Skye wouldn't, because then that would ruin the point...and also make Auggie totally embarrassed and ashamed. Once Augustus realized that Skye might just think that shamefully, Augustus looked down into his lap, turning a light shade of red already. Great. He was already in a wheelchair, which he had been told was shameful...now he had just confessed to curling up and crying. Though given the circumstances with what Caesar had done, it was justifiable. Looking up when Skye spoke again, Augustus nodded. "I've read about her. I am sorry that you had to endure that, little one." Staring at the other boy, Augustus gave a shiver. Auggie would never know what Skye had been through. But he had to just think of the things Caesar did to him....When Skye grabbed his hand....Well having just been thinking of the things Caesar was going to be able to do to him now that he was stuck here for while....it hadn't been the best move on Skye's part, although it was cute that he was trying to comfort Auggie. But very bad timing, what with Augustus having a small panic attack about not being able to close his legs...about being touched...When he felt he touch on his hand, he gave a yelp and nearly pulled away, before realizing it was Skye and not Caesar about to strap him into this chair. Gripping tightly to the boy's hand, Augustus sucked it up. "Well. At least that is common ground we share and can comort each other on, I suppose?" Augustus replied, befre shaking his head. "Obviously trying to forget doesn't work. I've tried it before, anyways. And I stay for many reasons, Skye. Most of which I wouldn't expect you to understand. But the main two are...very important. One, a sense of duty. Secondly....I have a job here. It is important, and I can not leave until it has been finished. Also the small fact of...not being able to leave any longer." Augustus eyes drifted down for a minute, before flicking back up. "But....if I had a good enough reason, Skye....I would leave this all in a heartbeat." A major hint there, if Skye wasn't too oblivious and missed it.

It was hard to believe that Caesar, a insane devil of sorts, and a god-like Augustus could be half-brothers, and yet somehow they were. Odder still that, despite being one of Caesar's many victims, Augustus was like he was. Augustus had become one of the most caring and non-violent people the world had ever seen, strangely. Other victims of similar things had turned out quite differently. Skye, a young boy with serious mood-swing and violence issues, was just one. Anything but what Augustus was. Adell hadn't been a Natural Born, or so records said, instead turned around the age of four or so. She had also been completely sane, and that made her all the more terrible. Skye had been one of her many little pets for two years, and his state showed just how sadistic she had been, and he was lucky to be alive and in possession of all normal body parts minus an eye and possibly a few insides. Skye didn't understand why on earth Augustus couldn't just leave. He viewed Augustus a bit like himself when he had been Adell's plaything. Skye could have tried to run, but he hadn't, mostly out of fear and having nowhere to go. There was nothing though to hold him back other then threats though... he didn't know that Augustus had other things restraining him, a sibling for one. Skye wasn't really brave, just clinging to a ridiculously stubborn pride, which could often be different things entirely. Jumping at Augustus' sharp tone, Skye listened slightly, before suddenly exclaiming the obvious. "You're twenty-four?" Skye was, obvious, quite terrible at telling people's ages, and Augustus he had guess was... a lot... younger. A 'whoops' moment for Skye indeed. Blinking once, Skye then flushed faintly red -better then his sheet white face either way- as he realized how strange his random outburst was. "Sorry..." Skye added quickly, pretending that hadn't just happened. At least it too his mind off the 'Adell' he had seen earlier. "...Good point... but still... in front of people just because a girl looked like that...that was six years ago." Skye trailed off yet again, adding nothing more to the matter. Skye definitely wasn't going to say anything more on Adelle, and he just looked away. Those two years... even Caesar would have a hard time making a reputation close to hers. The constant torment and pain, both physical -extreme pain in this case- and emotional, could break anyone. Skye nearly yanked his hand back when Augustus yelped, but the boy was gripping onto it before he could. Once again Skye didn't comment about their 'common ground', given it was a very terrible subject for both of them. Besides, Augustus then started a small speech that made absolutely no sense at all to Skye's now highly confused mind. "Yeah, forgetting doesn't work..." As Skye knew, the real hell had been six years ago and it could have been yesterday to him. True Adell had found him a few times after that, but none of those experiences really compared. "Duty... To the Council? How... You can't possibly like it here, why would you feel any reason to stay...?" That was Skye right there and his attitude of 'don't like it, run far away' again, given his loyalties were few he could often follow that logic. "A job? Why not just abandon it...? It can't hurt you to..." Skye's self speaking again, this time the 'if it doesn't hurt you, do it' part of him. Skye still didn't understand that Augustus was paralyzed for the time being, so he said nothing on that note, merely looking confused. And did Augustus really think Skye would catch the hint? Of course he wouldn't, but he replied anyways. "Escaping Caesar isn't enough a reason? Getting away from this hellhole? ...I'd like to see you again, if I can ever leave and all... and I wouldn't come back here..."
