Nightingale Dragonflies

Postby LostHope » Tue Aug 28, 2012 10:01 am

Welcomes to Nightingale Dragonflies. Thanks to catsmaycry for creating these beautiful creatures for me.

How to adopt:
If a NDF has Adopt Me! on it's image, it's more than likely up for adoption. Click it and if it doesn't have special instructions, then it is first come first serve. If there is something added to the form, then it's a competition reserved mainly for very rares.

What is a Nightingale Dragonfly?
They are peculiar little dragons that gather in watering holes where nightingale lilies grow. They are the size of a frog and give live birth to 1-2 tiny little cubs, in which the mother will carry the young on it's back when on the go. Male and female appear the exact same, having no significant difference in appearances. They come in many different colors and coat patterns, the most common being forearm and tail stripes, and tuxedo. being a dragon, they have no set color patterns, ranging from natural tones, to neon rainbows. They are warm blooded despite being reptilian, and their strong lungs allow them to swim for extended lengths of time before coming up for air.

Behavior:
They are curious creatures and love to gather shiny objects, such as lost coins and jewelry. They are very friendly, making perfect pets for children, as they aren't very fragile either. Their transparent wings flutter nearly one hundred times a minute to support them in flight, and they are very fast and dart around like a dragonfly.

Appearances:
They look much like a dog or possibly a cat, and are actually warm blooded. Their fur is thick and very soft. They can come with antennae, horns, or both. Their fur comes in many colors, and with many patterns. Spots, stripes, and random markings such as spirals. However, a darker coat comes with bright stripes and markings. Their eyes come in mammalian and reptilian types. Types of markings are; Raccoon, stripped, border collie, spotted/calico, tux, and faded. Some being more common than others.

Breeding grounds

Postby LostHope » Tue Aug 28, 2012 10:02 am

Before you stands a hollowed tree truck. It's large enough to house a few dozen Nightingale Dragonflies. A large amount of lilies grow at it's base. This is the breeding grounds. However, an offering must be made before the spirit of the plains will allow two domesticated nightingales breed. The offering is simple. You must give it a dog from your collection. Any dog will do. The rarer the dog, however, the more random markings may show up. And if the parents do not share the same markings, the cub will had a faded marking.

Yeah it's open. I'm just not doing customs right now. It's also in a wajas style with preset coat patterns that I add onto ot take away. They'll also get faded if not shared >:3
