{I think I'm going to die from the sheer adorableness that is Foxglove and Mordecai.}
Thirteen slowed to a halt, sides heaving. She didn't know how far she'd run, just that it had been a long time since she'd left the alley. The tiny she-cat, turned in a circle, looking for Bandit. She didn't see her friend, and panic rose up inside her chest. She couldn't be alone, not again. "Bandit!" Thirteen screamed. "Where are you? Bandit!" Ever since she'd been little, Thirteen had been crippled with fear over the thought of being abandoned. Her worst nightmare had come true when stupid Twenty-One had killed Mama, leaving her alone. Forever, because nocat wanted her, no person wanted her, because she was so different - a freak.

[dsghfgjhgkfsa sorry guys omg. The thread, it got swallowed up. I am ashamed of myself. ;_;]
Bandit had paused on her way towards Thirteen, deep in thought again. Strike. Her mind was fixated on Strike. Besides that, and hunger, Bandit's mind rarely roamed anywhere else. Not just now, ever. Suddenly, Thirteen's piecring scream cut through to her mind. "Thirteen!?" She yowled, fearing the worst. A dog. A human. A car. Another cat. Using her sense of smell and following her ears she located the she-cat. "Thirteen, are you okay?"

{Ew, horrendously late reply on my part. :p}
"Bandit?" Thirteen turned around, hearing the familiar voice. "Bandit! Bandit!" She wailed, running over to her friend and burying her nose in the she-cat's chest fur. "I thought you left me like Mama did!" Thirteen sobbed. She knew she was acting like a kitten, and she was ashamed of herself, but she couldn't stop. "Mama left and she's never coming back because she's dead! Don't be like Mama, Bandit, please." Thirteen glanced up at Bandit, her green eyes glistening.

[Pff, I'm even worse. >.>]
At the fear and sadness in Thirteen's voice and eyes, Bandit's heart broke. Purring in an attempt to sound soothing, the she-cat gently licked the top of the sobbing cat. "Shhh, honey. Shhh. I won't leave you, I promise, okay? I'm sorry for making you think that, I'd just gotten a bit lost in my thoughts. But I won't leave you. I don't want you getting hurt again." Bandit's eyes were glistening with unshed tears as well, a sob caught in her throat. She was thinking of the other cat she'd promised this too. But this promise she wouldn't break. This time she wouldn't fail. To herself, she swore that she wouldn't. She hoped she'd be better at keeping a promise to herself than she was to her sister.

"Really?" Thirteen looked up at Bandit, not quite daring to believe it. "Mama said she'd never leave either. She said she'd always haunt me. I dunno what that word means, but she lied. Mama left. She died. Bandit," she looked down at her paws, biting her cheek. "Sometimes I wonder if Mama was always right like she said she was. When she told me to take the kittens away, she said they be happy but they're not. They're always in my dreams, Bandit. and they're always crying. Why are they crying, Bandit? I don't understand. Was Mama...was Mama..." Thirteen suddenly gasped in horror. "No! No, I can't be thinking that! Mama's always right. Bad! Bad, Thirteen, bad!" The little she-cat suddenly broke away from Bandit and ran to a fire hydrant, repeating her cries of self-depriciation while repeatedly banging her head on the metal column.
{...Poor Thirteen's one seriously messed up kitty. :/}

[I just wanna hug the poor baby ;_;]
Bandit listened to Thirteen's breakdown moment, opening her mouth to speak but was unable to find the right words to say. Obviously, she should tell the poor cat that of course what Mama said was right and that the kittens were crying with joy or something like that. However, Bandit had an issue with lying about stuff like that and just couldn't let herself say anything in fear she'd say something dumb. When Thirteen ran towards the fire hydrant, Bandit dashed after her. "No, no you're not bad don't say that don't don't." she mumbled, her words coming out as one long fast word. She grabbed the black and white cat by the scruff and tried to yank her away from the hydrant she was hurting herself on. "Nuh, stuph, you gon' hurf youself." she said, muffled by the fur in her mouth.
