And the tears,
Flow like the rain,
And he cries,
Releasin' the pain,
And he sighs,
Nothin' to gain,
From an unrequited love...

She was beautiful. So beautiful. Long, flowing hair; wonderful, golden-amber eyes... Everything about her was perfect. And she wasn't just beautiful on the outside. She was beautiful on the inside, too. Polite, funny, serious at times, and kind to everyone, regardless of gender, looks, or anything else.

At first, he'd chuckled every time he happened to see someone get rejected by her. Not a mean chuckle, more of a sympathetic but slightly "you deserved it" chuckle. Because it was obvious that she rejected everyone. psh, he thought, she must think she's above us "normal people", or something like that. How stuck-up. How could anyone fall for her?
Back then, he had thought it was optional, or something. Who you fell in love with. Or, rather than thinking it was optional, he just never gave it much thought. In some far away part of his consciousness, he must have been thinking about it. Perhaps he'd just subconsciously locked the thought away because he didn't want it to happen.
But the sad thing is, it did happen. That's the thing with fighting development. Whether you want it to happen or not, you grow up. You don't get a choice about it. It just happens. And it happened to him.

It started as curiosity, he wanted to see what was so great about this girl who rejected everybody. He quickly realized she wasn't as stuck-up as he had originally thought. In fact, she wasn't stuck up at all. And before he knew it, they had become friends. He also learned the reason she rejected everybody who confessed to her. It was out of kindness. She didn't want to enter a relationship with half-hearted feelings for the other person. She only wanted to date someone she truly loved, because otherwise, if the person she was dating really and truly loved her, it would be painful for them if it wasn't mutual.
Slowly, as he learned more about her, he began to respect and admire her more and more, impressed by her kindness and selflessness.
They had been friends for two years when he realized his feelings for her. At first he didn't accept it, not wanting to think that his feelings for her might be deeper than those of a friend. They had even announced each other best friends out of all their other friends only 3 months before, which just made things harder on him.
So, he tried to fight his feelings, pushing them to the back of his mind, trying with all of his might not to hold onto her too long when she hugged him, her way of greeting him or saying goodbye.
But that could only last so long.

Six months later, it was summer. A beautiful, beautiful day in summer. They were second years in high school, both fifteen years old, and they were sitting under a tree, eating together outside during their lunch break, as per their tradition since 3 months after they'd met, in their second first* year of middle school.
That was when it happened. They were just casually chatting, and he ended up making her laugh. She smiled this huge happy smile and he couldn't hold back any longer.
All of a sudden, before he even realized what he was doing, she was wrapped in his arms as he hugged her tight. And before either of them recovered from the confusion and surprise, again without thinking, he spoke. "I love you," he'd said.
They were both shocked at the statement. He let go of her suddenly, and scooted back to his place on their picnic blanket. They both paused to take in what had happened. There was complete silence. But, finally, she broke the silence.
"I'm... I'm sorry. I just, I just can't... See you in that way. I'm truly sorry,"
He looked up. "Yeah, I know. But, do you think we can still be friends?"
"Yes, of course. Best friend in the world, remember?" She asked, holding out her pinky finger.
"Best friends in the world," he confirmed, locking his pinky with hers.
"Pinky swear!" They said in unison, and they both burst out laughing at their own child-ish-ness.

When he got home that evening, he locked himself in his room, plopped his bag on the ground and sat down on his bed.
As soon as he touched his bed he burst into deep, painful sobs.
That night, he refused any food and cried himself to sleep in his school uniform.

It didn't happen right away. For awhile, she held back her hugs, and things were awkward between them.
But life goes on, and things get buried in the sands of time.
By the time they entered their fourth year of friendship, their relationship was back to normal.
His heart didn't hurt anymore, and they remained the best of friends for the rest of their lives.

*Sorry for that, guys. I home school, so I don't know the American (Actually American, so including Canada and everything, considering I live her in Canada. xD) school system well, and then I've been reading a bunch of manga (Japanese comics) recently, so, I accidentally almost wrote this according to the Japanese school system: 6 years of Elementary; 3 years of Middle, and another 3 years of High. I wanted them fifteen, so I made them high school first years, but I caught that mistake and fixed it. Except, I guess I failed to fix the middle school mistake. ^^;

ok, I admit, I am a tad bit on the weird side. I mean, sure my clothes don't always match. And alright, I tend to bump into things and am some what clumsy. And, fine, I can even leave paint on my outfits when Im not paying attention or rushing to class. But, come on, that's not TO bad. I don't really talk to myself THAT often, and I don't really have some DEEP DARK SECRET. I just don't get why kids think Im so strange. I thought my outfit today matched somewhat, why did people keep pointing out how bad I looked? I guess the the bow was to much, I think. Oh well, you can't please everyone! I shrugged my shoulders and headed down the hall to my eighth, and final, period. "what's with the fashion statement? Planning to to rebel good looking clothes?" Impishly laughed gabriella Bellis. "nope, Im just trying to wear something decent, I guess. And this fits the bill!" i replied pushing on through the masses of children to my class. When I was about to reach for the door though I heard strained sobs coming from around the corner. I quietly peeked over and saw a small girl who looked like she belonged to one of the younger grades. that's the thing you see. My school went from kindergarten to right before high school all in one building. I, myself was in eighth grade. 'What's the matter?" I asked bending down to look her in the eyes. "I, I,...cant find my class! We had gotten to the gym for lunch, and then we left to go back to class! I went to follow but I tripped over my foot and they disappeared!" She sobbed, rubbing her eyes. "No problem sweetie! Just tell me who your teacher is and I will take you right to them!" I said shifting my weight so I could hold my overfilled binder in one hand and offer her the other. "Mrs. Hash, mrs.hashin...uh mrs. hachme" She said stumbling on the teacher's difficult name. "Do you mean Mrs.Hashman?" I asked already leading her to the other side go the school. "YA!" She gasped a smile filling her face. After I dropped her off, to a very worried teacher, I headed quickly back to my own class, only tardy but a minute or so. As i took a seat in one of the isolated desks far from anyone else (All the others had been filled) A guy teased me about being late. "hey short haired! A girl like you shouldn't miss class to paint all over your clothes! Your already weird enough!" He and his friends laughed. But I just rolled my eyes and looked towards the teacher, who was also stifling back a giggle. As I said, I don't get why they think Im weird, They all saw me take the little girl back to her class, why make up a bunch of junk to tease me about? But I ignored the class and thought positive thoughts, I had promised the little girl to meet her again. at least she wasn't scared by mismatched clothes, unlike the whole of my grade. Why did they find me so strange?
(should i continue?)

Say i don't love
For he is no longer
Here and she never
Shall love other
Pain took her life
Just to be wth him
Alias he gives noting back
But pain no one may touch
Her dargon protects her
As for her face is never seen
And never will for she is known as

Cody xx Mikheal
viewtopic.php?f=20&t=608894&p=40681212#p40681212 (Part 1)
---
Part 2

We were inseparable.

We were a sight to see all through middle school. Cody had always been shorter than I was. Each year he was getting shorter and shorter but in reality I was just getting taller and lankier. He would never admit he just hadn't hit his growth spurt yet. We grew accustomed to names like "Jack and the Bean Stalk" or "Small Fry and Stretch" and often took them as an indirect compliment. You probably know that saying about how opposites attract, right? But our friendship was so similar to that, it sometimes scared even me.

Cody was always the brainy and logical one out of the two of us. His mind was like a steel trap when it came to things like science and social studies. I always made sure to sit next to him when a test in either subject came around. He didn't seem to mind when I'd scan his paper once or twice. I was the other half, the artsy creative one that wasn't afraid to speak outside the box (to only him, of course). I always excelled in english because I just loved writing. Whether it be poems or short stories or essays I made sure to put in my very best effort. Except when it came to placing commas and semicolons. I never knew where to put those things. Also, drawing had been an open passion of mine. Cody and I had always been big fans of mythological creatures and I'd draw anything he'd ask me to. He loved Cerberus especially... I worked really hard on that one. I gave him a huge Cerberus drawing for his 13th birthday and he hung it on one of his walls with other countless drawings of mine. He told me he's keep them until the day he died.

I was very shy. He was very outgoing. My mother had always liked our pairing because he always brought me out of my shell. I could be myself around Cody without having to face ridicule or judgement. Although when it came to talking aloud I needed a bit of coaching. If we ever were out eating at a restaurant I'd have a hard time looking at the waiter or waitress so he'd usually order for me. Or if my order was wrong or they forgot to get a straw for me, Cody didn't have a problem bringing it up himself. Sometimes he'd encourage me to ask on my own and I would, but he understood it was uncomfortable for me. He understood me. He always did.

We stayed together all the time during school, Cody even requested classes with me. We never grew tired of seeing each other which was one of the beauties of our friendship.

You might have wondered what things did we have in common. One already stated was mythology. Another was our imagination. We had no problem coming up with scenarios or characters or anything. Cody inspired me to write. He'd give me a plot and a few names for the characters and I'd bring them to life. He'd read it back to me because I stumbled on words when I read. Writing for us was just a bunch of little puzzle pieces waiting to be put together. And with him the picture was always complete.

Another thing we both loved to do was act. We never did any school plays or anything because neither of us were good at memorizing. We were best at improvising and making the scenes as we went along. Sometimes he insisted we'd dress up as our characters but I told him I couldn't bear the thought of living my life remembering something as embarrassing as that. Although I'll admit now he's gotten me to dress up once or twice. Or maybe three. All right probably the majority of the times we acted we suited up. And I'm proud of it. You might have noticed out of all the subjects I listed in the second paragraph, math was not there. Because we both sucked at it.

Life is full of improvising. It could turn out to be a huge comedy or a tragedy or in our case, both.

Image
You can thank her for that.

Part three will be up soon, if not tomorrow ^^

I have something to tell you" He felt a shiver down my spine, because the last time I was sent to help somebody I failed. I slightly nodded. "You are to find the lonely teen, Midnight" He said softly. "Bring him to me. He needs to be safe. It will be a very long journy there and back. If you fail, there will be cosquences" Oh no..., I thought. "Here is the map. Do not lose it. Youll need on your journey" He sighed. "You will go by flight. You cant trust anyone but Midnight and I. It will be a dangerous journey." My fur shimmered in moonlight, I sigh and said softly. "Master, you know what happened last time..." He sighed. "You have recovered. Now, heres the map. Follow it, study it. Youre leaving at the break of dawn" I slowly walked to my cabin, the looking out the window and below. I was used to being up in this floating place. We are supposed to help the others from the evil of Earth. Probably because its safe up here. I snuggled into bed, turning off the light, thinking about my journey.

At the break of dawn I found the map and supplies I needed. I went to the launch room. My master directed me to the lift off. I stoood at the edge. I took a deep breath, and jumped. I flapped me wings. I quickly looked at the map, and it showed that I go east for 10 miles by flight. I turned East, when I was going West. I looked at my Compass. "Just right" I said. I flew as fast as I possibly could. After about 10 minutes, I realized I was almost about to go through the Dark Shadow cloud. It says on the map, that it is filled with things called... Shadow creatures. You must go quickly or they will suck your soul out from you. i quickly flew inside it. I saw small beedy black eyes staring at me. I quickly landed on the ground. I trotted around the cloud. I saw one in the way. I quickly went as high as I could. I saw the Creature's mouth open. It started to suck my sould out. I flew quickly away for it. I grabbed the dart gun out my sack with supplies. I shot it at the one what tried to suck me. That got em mad. They started to chase me. I started shooting more, but they more came in their place. I just stopped. "Maybe this is the end" I told myself. They started to gain me, I flew faster. I closed my eyes, not wanting to send my fate. Then I noticed light. I opened one eye, seeing Im out safe! YAY, I thought. I just flew from then on. With no sleep.

I woke up the next morning, finiding I was sleeping on a cloud. i stood up. I took out the torn map, and looked at it. "Time to find that town" I said. "About 5 miles, and then down. I got up and flew. My elegant wings shined in the sunlight. About 5 minites later I knew I was closing in on the town. I wasnt sure what he would look like.
I later found where he lived by all the madness in this town. I swoped down and landed at his front door. I knocked at the door, lightly. He saw his midnight blue eyes unfold as the door opened. "I was sent to bring you to a safe place. But there is journey. Im Soldier Snow. But call me Snow. I only took the short cut here, so I get you. But you can only take the short cut once. Now, come" His eyes locked on mine. "No" He simply said. "But, if you stay here, there will be problems" I growled at him. "Fine then. Wheres our ride?" I stare in amazment of what he said. I chuckled. "Get on my back" He refuesed to get on. "Have a piece on candy" I said. He accepted, then ate it. He then realized what I had done. He tried to cough it up, but no use. He than was uncoisious, for now at least.

A few hours later I saw his deep midnight blue eyes stare at me. "We all already got through the Shadow Cloud. I almost lost you" I said. "Shadow cloud?" He whispered in confusion. "Shadow creatures live there, and suck your soul out..." I said quietly. "Well then Soldier Snow, where to now?" I sighed. You dont want to know sweetie..., I thought. I shook my head. "The Dorn Wolke" I said. "Dorn Wolke?" He asked. "Well, first off that means Spike Cloud in German. Anyway, The Dorn Wolke is filled with spiked traps. Some are deathly, some are minor. Dont be surprised if you have a spike or something on your paw." His eyes widen in horror. He was about to say something but, We're herre!" I came into landing. "Ummm... Im not so sure about this. Sharkie is to." I rolled my eyes. "Just hold my paw and dont touch anything" He grabbed my paw. His paw was cold with fear. A fog rolled in above our tails. "We should hurry. The Tinkers may come" I said. "Nah they sound harmless" He laughed. "Theyre not. They have razor sharp teeth, with metal beedy eyes" I said eyes narrowing. He stared at me in horror.

Okay, no more excuses now, I'm just having really bad writer's block. -_- I'm so sorry guys. I'm trying my best, though. And failing. :'D But I did write a short story, so even though it's not even set in Star's world, I figured no harm could come from posting it. I mean, while people also appreciate the plot of books, do they not also need to enjoy the author's writing style? Therefore, an unrelated mini-story I wrote. ^^

*Sorry for that, guys. I home school, so I don't know the American (Actually American, so including Canada and everything, considering I live her in Canada. xD) school system well, and then I've been reading a bunch of manga (Japanese comics) recently, so, I accidentally almost wrote this according to the Japanese school system: 6 years of Elementary; 3 years of Middle, and another 3 years of High. I wanted them fifteen, so I made them high school first years, but I caught that mistake and fixed it. Except, I guess I failed to fix the middle school mistake. ^^;

fantastic. c':

Thank you! Positive feedback always means so much to me. ;-; *Happy tears*

You can thank her for that.

Part three will be up soon, if not tomorrow ^^
