The plot would be that the wolves are all split into many packs centered around the Alphas (kind of Hunger Games-ish) with each pack having a certain job. The Birthing Pack is where mothers go to have their pups, and when the pups are weaned they are tested to see what their natural talent is, then they are taken to the pack with that talent. Criam, Mali, and Shire were born there like normal wolves, Boo was a wandering stray (named because when he was found all he could/would say was Boo) when he was a pup and was adopted, and Koran was found by scouts in another Region. (Scouts from Regions often go to other Regions who have too many wolves in one pack.) They formed a very close friendship but then Koran runs off to try and practice hunting when he hears adults talking about the carribou herd the Hunters found. Since the Howlers aren't trained to really hunt until they are full grown because their job is to learn to relay information and sing at celebrations, funerals, etc., he down't know what he's doing and tries to take down the lead doe, so he gets attacked by a stag and is almost killed, but then Criam finds him when he helps the Trackers search for him and they save him and him and Koran become closer and then Boo and Shire get closer because Boo was freaking out and Shire had to comfort him.
