Flicka screamed furiously and galloped straight at the Mountain Lion; her hooves pounding deeply into the grassy plains. She saw her colt fall, and she went faster! When she was a few metres away she leapt into the air and screamed at the lion, landing on it and killing it instantly, though it had its claws dug in....

Trigger tried to get up but he was in shock and he stumbled over himself, his knee hurt and swollen, he whinned and laid down in the tall grass

Flicka snorted, a scratch bleeding from one of the big cats claws. She winced in pain but pushed herself to get up, releasing the grip on the Lions claws, she managed to canter to her foal. Nudge him gently and talk, "Are you okay?!" She asked quickly.

"Yeah, I think I hurt my knee though." he looked down at his swollen knee and back at his mom "what about you?"

Flicka snorted and looked at her chest, "The Lion scratched me when I killed it" She said.

"Yes little one" Flicka replied.
