He led her to the kitchen where he took out an array of knives, a cutting board, salad spoons , some vinaigrette, olive oil, dressing and a large bowl.

"What are all these for?" Kaiiyen picked up a knife and studied it, hr reflection showing up in the stainless steel.

"to cute the vegetables into bite size pieces." he replied, soon taking the knife from her. "this is a thin bladed knife ... good for mushrooms and skinning tomatoes."

"I'm going to... let you make the salad... I don't trust myself with sharp objects." She gave a soft smile and stood on the other side of the counter.

"do you want the skin on or off for the tomatoes?" he asked, soon washing all the ingredients before he began to slice the mushrooms.

"On." She said, studying the kitchen. "Dear god I could practically get lost in here." She said. "My house isn't even the size of this kitchen!"

"well, we have lots of hatters living here ... most of them out for training recently but still quite a few residents." he replied. He began to chop the tomatoes, lettuce, and other ingredients, adding the olives and mushrooms last. "what would you like on top of your salad?" he asked.

"You mean dressing wise, right?" She asked, not knowing what else you would put on top of a salad.

"of course ... what else would i put ... my top hat?" he asked, smiling a bit.
