Max got to her feet, scowling at the boy. "That's Max to you, Fang." she said, making his name sound like an insult. "And don't you dare smirk at me- or have you ever escaped from Paradise and lived to tell the tale?"

John was updating the files of the kids and considering moving Willow and Gage into the blocking room so that they would have more company. While looking through the files he stopped on Ellie's and looked at for a moment before moving it aside. He knew that Max and her brother had something already planned for them but he couldn't help but wonder about the others, especially Ellie.

Eventually Ellie started to wake up from the heavy dose from the tranq. She opened her eyes looking atthe ceiling hearing Alex and Fang then Max. Ellie sat up then instantly moving her hand to her head feeling dizzy and turned her head to see Max who had escaped while Ellie tried to leave with them but got stuck here. She then turned her head towards Alex and saw his arm was in a cast, she didn't know what to say. Some Paradise she thought to herself.

Max looked around the room swiftly, then got up and began to run her hands over the walls. In each corner she would pause, then run a finger from about the middle of the wall to the floor. When she was finished, she climbed up onto one of the cots and ran a hand over the ceiling, stopping when she felt a small indentation under her fingers. She stepped down, grinning. "I kinda wonder if they put me in this room on purpose." She said, "Just to see if I can break out again."

Hearing Ellie wake and sit up, Alex attempted to turn so he could speak to her, but the pain suddenly shot through his arm again. His body tensed, making breathing a little difficult. Finally he just gave up and lay back down, gasping in pain again. Obviously it would be a while before Alex would be able to move without hurting himself. For a few seconds, he was unable to hear anything being said.

Areina Chalos headed for Dr. Wilson's office. She had a few words she needed to say to him about little Miss Ellie. Remembering that he'd refused to test her, Areina became frustrated at him. It seemed as if he were treating Ellie more lightly than any of the others all because he-- Areina knocked on the office door, impatient.

Chaz had run until his golden-furred legs refused to carry him any further. He stumbled for a bit before collapsing in the shade of an Oasis, many miles from the one where Max had been captured. Max- his sister- caught and put in a cage again, tested again, all for the purpose of war, and without him to comfort her. She was stronger now then she had been when they were younger, and she no longer cried. Ever. Not even under the harshest of conditions... but perhaps Paradise would break her, like it had so many others before they escaped. She was gone, he realized suddenly, and he was alone. It was his worst nightmare- he had always had a partner in crime, a second pair of hands when he needed them, beak and talons in a fight, a lockpicker and a thief. He could crush a man's skull with one blow, or electrocute somebody any time he wanted, but he couldn't burn. Fire is fear, and Max is fire, so Max is fear, he reasoned. And that fear has kept us safe thus far. I can be terrifying as well, but two enemies are always more formidable. He was so tired.... The last thought that penetrated his groggy mind before he fell asleep was

John was adding the results to Fang's file from the test today; he looked up at the door as he heard the knock already knowing who it was. "Yes Miss Chalos?" He asked knowing she would make her way in anyway.

When Ellie heard Alex attempting to sit up she stood up then walked over to where he was and leaned on the near by wall facing him making it easier for him to speak for him to speak to her. "I can see you didn't have a good time." She said when she thought Alex would be able to hear her. "Was there something you wanted to ask?"

Areina entered John's office the moment he spoke. She managed to force herself to wait until he finished with Fang's test report before speaking. With a smirk across her face, she asked, "So, how was Fang's performance in the mazes?" Areina stood casually now, her arms crossed.

Forcing a smile, Alex said, "I cannot really remember what happened, but I think I'll be okay, eventually. I was just wanting to--" he stopped, not sure how to express the way he felt. It made Alex feel all the better to know that Areina hadn't harmed Ellie. Then he remembered another friend . . . "Zoey! What happened to her? All I can remember is that we were in the testing room and . . ." his mind went blank.

Illana had finished eating and was in deep thought. Ty's words were comforting to an extent, but the testing still had to go on. But why? In her mind, she felt the pain again, the fear. It was to help create a venom vaccine that could save millions of lives, but Illana couldn't help but think of what the next serum would do to her. She curled up into a ball on the bed, trying to keep the tears from falling.

"Zoeys unharmed, asleep actually.To what the scientist did to you he's been fired knowing Areina, so I don't think you'll be seeing him again." Ellie replied as she glaced over towards Zoey while answering.

Staring up at the ceiling now, Alex chuckled. "Finally, some good news. That guy was crazy." He sighed and looked back down at Ellie. "So, what now? How are we going to get out of this place at this rate? Even if we do get out of this room, it'll be war before we get outside."

Fang glared at Max, then crossed his arms over his chest, "Well sorryy Max!" he snarled her name, then turned away from her and looked back over at Alex.
