Part one
Tay x Bandit
even the best can go badTay fled from the crime scene.
The wind whipped her hair, making it hard to see where she was going. Tripping over her only dress, she stifled a shriek when out of the corner of her eye she saw her partner in crime about to be arrested. Tay hoisted herself up from the ground and grabbed her slingshot, a flimsy thing that was made from a Y-shaped stick, a small sapling, and some rocks. Squinting and aiming carefully, she shot one of the pebbles at the guard's head, hitting it in just the right spot to make him unconscious for a little bit. Just enough time to let Bandit escape.
Once free, Bandit was shuddering with exhilaration, weaving in and out of the trees in attempt to confused the guards trying to catch him. He heard his name shouted, and before he knew it he stumbled into a body and went rolling down the hill, his arms getting scratched by fallen sticks and branches. They landed at the bottom of hill with an "oomf".
Angrily, Bandit scuttled to his feet in a hurry, brushing the dirt off of his face. The girl below him rubbing her scratched cheek smiled meekly at him.
"What do you think you were doing?" He hissed in a loud whisper, clenching and unclenching his fists.
"I just wanted to know for sure that you were okay."
Bandit contained an irritated groan, almost regretting letting Tay help out with the robbery. He heard her huff and then say, "Oh, come on. We got what we wanted. Is that not enough?"
But Bandit just shook his head and picked up the stolen rare gold coins, slipping them into his pocket.
"We better hurry, they'll find us soon," He decided, jogging the opposite direction from the way they came.
"Which ones?"
"Does it matter?"
Ever since Tay escaped, her mother and father sent out search parties for her, but never succeeded. Bandit could tell that she missed her parents, whoever they were, but he wasn't sure where her loyalties lie. He knew she belonged to a high rank, but he didn't know that it was high enough for people to go searching for her. Shaking these thoughts from his head, he continued jogging.
After a long, dead silence, Tay asked, "Where are we going?"
Bandit looked back at her, admiring how brave she was. Of course, he's the bravest. He had sacrificed everything to survive.
"To a place."
They treaded along, neither one of the pair saying a word to each other.
"Where are your parents?"
Bandit stopped abruptly, the question catching off him guard. He had to think quick, try to convince her that his parents weren't failures. That they didn't abandon him.
"I don't know. Some other country."
"Wow! Really? That's so cool," Tay exclaimed, rushing up to his side. Bandit rolled his eyes and didn't answer. He didn't want to answer.
---
Tay strolled along, wondering about Bandit. How he got here, why he steals things, the list goes on. She certainly didn't want to get on his bad side. At all.
Besides, they were partners now. Friends, even.
The hot night breeze brushed her face, making Tay want to fall in the grass a sleep. But she knew that wasn't an option. She knew that wherever Bandit was taking her must be important.
But the more she walked, the more she wanted to be more than just partners in crime.
Rustling in the bushes caught Bandit's attention. That was never a good sign.
"Tay, I think-" Bandit's voice broke off into a choke as he was knocked to the ground. He snarled and threw the man that was on him off, immediately recognizing him. That was the man who took away his parents.
That was the man that ripped his life apart.
Anger surged through his veins as he pinned his attacker down.
"You... you!" He hissed, squeezing the man's shoulders, a lump forming at the back of his throat.
"Bandit, no!"
Bandit felt a sharp kick to the stomach, sticky grass prickling his neck.
"You can't hurt him, Bandit."
He looked up to see Tay standing over him. "What are you talking about? That man ruined my life! I'll kill him!"
Tears formed at Tay's eyes. "He's my cousin."
Bandit, who had risen to his knees, gripped Tay's shoulders. "Y-you have no idea how much pain and suffering he has done to me. And now you're on his team?"
"Bandit, I'm sorr-"
"No! No you're not. I hate you, I hate you all!"
Bandit screamed and yelled as two guards grabbed him and threw him in a caged carriage, Tay stuffing her face in her cousin's arms, not able to stop crying.
Bandit could still feel the coins in his pocket, could still hear Tay's voice. A voice he was convinced he'd never hear again.

I couldn't sleep. Most nights I feel asleep quite quickly, but not tonight. I pushed back the canopy of my bed and walked over to the marble window sill, opening the large window. It was a difficult and noisy task, and I prayed I didn't wake anyone up. The windows were finally wide-open, and I could see the mountain range that my family's castle lay nestled in. I looked over to the left, and could see the kingdom. It was filled with golden lights, still full of life despite how late it was. It seemed so close...
I walked back over to my bed, and reached under my pillow. I felt a small chain and let out a sigh of relief. It was still there. I pulled it out from underneath the pillow and held the object in my hand. It was my mother's locket. It was passed down in my family for generations, starting with my great, great, great, great grandmother, who had it specially crafted by the greatest jeweler in all of the land. When I became a teenager 2 years ago and earned my tiara, my mother gave it to me. I opened the heart shaped locket. It was empty, and it probably always has been, and might always will be...
Suddenly, a large, cold rush of wind blew by. It caused the window to shake. They made a horrid, rickety noise. I reached out to close the window, and suddenly my locket slipped out of my hand. I gasped. My room was in one of the highest towers in the castle. The locket fell out of my sight, out of the castle walls and into the mountain range, into the wilderness. I panicked.
I threw on my cloak and my shoes, and, as quiet as a mouse, I slipped out of the castle. I stumbled into the wilderness. I was terrified, many wild animals could harm me here, but I needed that locket. It meant a lot to me and if I lost it, I could be a in a whole world of trouble...

the heartbroken girl xx the friend
her lovers death was very tragic...
he was her one and only... at least, she labelled it a he.
she fell in love, and ever since she committed that crime...
she felt disgusted with herself, completely revolted...
---
she gently sobbed under her best friends' arms. she rubbed her back and quietly whispered, "don't cry... it's not like he was good for you anyways. you could have done better, you could have done healthier."
she didn't want to hear it, and held up a paw. "don't even go there." she snapped.
"i loved him, so much. and look what i did! i feel horrible."
her friend continued to comfort her, and she sobbed quietly, though her loudness only escalated.
the doctors had told them that they had absolutely no reason to be there in the empty room, very rudely however, and ordered them to leave. she drove home with her friend, though she thought she didn't need her friend to stay with her and told her she could leave.
her friend left, and the girl went straight upstairs to her room and quietly cried.
though no one else was in the house, she tried to keep quiet.
her one and only died, and she did the crime.
her fundip...
[ gotcha there, didn't i? hurhur ]

the musician && the fan
Benjamin strolls into a small bakery, casually strumming his guitar and singing quietly to himself. It is cold outside; his cheeks are flushed from the sudden change to warmth. Suddenly he stops in his tracks. There, right in front of him, is the most beautiful girl he has ever seen. Her eyes are cast down at the cupcakes she is meticulously decorating. His hands fly up to his head in unexpected astonishment. He had come in here to get a cup of tea and perhaps a cupcake, only to find the loveliest girl on the face of the planet. Her brown hair is in a loose bun with red highlights that can be seen only because of the cracks of sunlight through the bakery window. She looks up and smiles.
Her wide eyes are a glorious green, with a delicate inside ring of brown, her teeth are perfectly straight, and a natural pearl white. He is making these observations as she is speaking, and shakes himself out of his trance to listen to her. “May I help you?” the girl asks, a hint of amusement in her voice. Benjamin then realizes he must look like an odd sight to see; a random boy, with his mouth slightly agape, and his hands still are raised up, clutching soft chunks of his blonde hair, staring directly at her. He immediately drops his hands back onto his guitar, and leans against the counter slightly. He swallows and finally finds his voice, his lips managing to form the words, “Yes. I mean, no. I mean...” He stammers, tongue tied in front of her. Silently, he curses himself for not being the smooth gentleman he normally is. It’s something about her that he cannot point his finger to.
After a moment though, Benjamin’s eyes find hers, and he says, “I’ll be honest, you are the most stunning girl I have ever seen in my entire life. I know it’s a bit blunt for me to say such a thing, but I cannot find the words to say w hat I want to say, so this will have to do.” He chuckles a bit when he says the last bit, and murmurs, “And believe me, I’ve seen a lot of girls in my life.” He says this mostly to himself, but not arrogantly, just truthfully. It’s to say that no other girl has made him quite like this before. His Irish accent is strong, and he is hoping that she won’t recognize him, but he knows there is little to no chance of that anymore. But he’s had years to get used to that. Had it really been five years ago since they had formed as a band? It was funny how quickly things change.
The girl laughs, “have you used that line often before? I know you; you’re from Trill Three, yes? I loved you so much when I was younger. How is the celeb life treating you?” He looks around, and says, “Shh! Don’t say that quite so loud – I’ve done a pretty good job of keeping a low profile today. The snow helps a lot as well; paparazzi are forced to slow down, or they’ll trip.” He laughed. “And to answer your question, no, I haven’t used that line before. Ever, actually. I’ve been saving it for the girl of my dreams, though in my head I imagined myself saying it much... smoother. ” he says this sheepishly, but it rings true. Her eyebrows shoot up in surprise, but a welcome one at that. A bit of color appear on her cheeks, and she smiles once more, but shyer. “Well then.” She says with a small laugh, and continues, “I’m Alina, by the way.” You can tell she was still recovering from the huge compliment, but Benjamin thinks it’s cute. “I’m Benjamin.” He states, introducing himself as well. Alina laughs at his severely obvious statement. He coughs to hide his embarrassment, and thinks, “How many mistakes can I make?”
“Right. Listen would you care to join my company for some coffee nearby?” He asks her, and the corners of her mouth turn down when she responds, “I would love to, but my boss is extremely strict on break, and I’ve already had one.” His lips form a small disappointed frown that matches hers, and he says, “Alright then.” And before he can continue, she says, “Rain check?” She smiles, and says “one second”, and disappears in the back room again, only to appear a second later with a pen and paper in hand. She rips the paper in half, and scribbles down something on one half. “Here’s my phone number. Call me if you ever want that coffee. That is, if you ever give your number to your fans.” He smiles, slightly amused that she didn’t simply ask for him phone to type in her number, but instead she preferred the old fashion way. He uses the pen to write down his number on the other half of the paper, winks and says, “Definitely, you’re an exception.” He gives her his paper in exchange for hers, and says “There you go.” While she gives him the paper, Benjamin gently takes her hand before she pulls it away and kisses it. Her eyes widen, and her mouth forms into small ‘o’.
“Until next time!” He says with a grin, and waves his slip of paper in the air, and walks out the door. Alina, meanwhile, reaches her hand behind her, and once her hand reaches the bar stool behind her, she slowly lower herself on it, catching her breath, her mind reeling. “I hope I played it cool.” She thinks to herself, mirroring the very thoughts of Benjamin himself, as he walks back in the wintery wonderland, his hands in his pockets.
-&&&&-
He sits on top of his queen sized bed, fingering the soft blankets between his index finger and thumb, staring at his phone. He has just saved her number in his phone, and wonders whether he should call her or not. His finger stays in mid air, awaiting his decision. He prefers to talk on the phone rather than text, and besides, he enjoys hearing the melodic sound of her voice. Benjamin can’t help being a hopeless romantic.
He closes his eyes and pushes the call button, anxiously waiting for the ringing to end, though he doesn’t know what he is going to say. He had wanted to call at noon, but was worried that he would interrupt her lunch, so he waited an extra hour to be safe.
“Hello?” Alina’s familiar voice says in the soft trill only her voice has, and he pauses for a bit, then realizes she is awaiting a reply when she repeats herself. “Yes, yes, sorry! It’s Benjamin.” They begin to talk, and when she finally said goodbye, they had made plans for dinner the next day, and the sky had darkened.
It surprises Benjamin how smitten he is; he has never believed in love at first sight, but here she is, casting away all doubt. He knows that the evening will go well, and hopes that there would be more in the future. She is fascinating.
-&&&&-
Striking. He stands up as she appears; Alina had agreed to meet him there, since she was in a rush and it would be a hassle if he had picked her up. She is wearing an elegant purple dress, and looks a bit flustered, with her cheeks pink from trying to get here quickly, but Benjamin thinks it’s just part of her sweet charm. He can tell that she took time to do her careful make up and everything, despite the rush.
“Hi, sorry I’m late.” She says in a whispery voice as she set her clutch on the table. He walks around to push her chair in for her, and smiles. “Ash, you are aware that you are only five minutes late, right?” She laugh when he says this, and says “I know, but I didn’t want to keep you waiting!” He tucks a flyaway hair behind her seat and goes back to his seat. “The anticipation was worth it.” He says, and winks. Though it seems like it, Benjamin isn’t just talking about waiting for here to start dinner. He’s talking about waiting for the One.
The time line goes like this. The next year had its ups and a down like every relationship has, but their love bound them together more than any other love they had ever experienced. The engagement was on a beautiful Thursday night, much like the one that they had met on, and the wedding was one that every girl dreamed of. Benjamin had finally found his princess.
