Ribbon Rune
Owner Name:
Sarill
Name:
Lila
Gender:
Female
Personality:
Lila is a very quiet rune, and prefers the company of a few to a humongous group. She is shy, and often hands back, reluctant to interact with people who she doesn’t know. But once you get to know her she is very fun to be around, in her own quiet way. She is very loyal, and if she considers someone a friend she will remain true to them, never doing anything that would hurt them. She is a rune that is mostly active at dawn and dusk, often sleeping in the middle of the day. In the light of the fading sun she will flit through the sky, showing off her beauty and golden ribbons to anyone lucky enough to catch a glimpse of her. They will stare, enthralled, until she disappears from view.
Why do you wish to have him/her:
I normally am not a huge fan of the colors pink and purple, but this dragon is very much the exception. She is a beautiful shade of purple, and her light pink provides a perfect contrast with her purple body and golden ribbons. She is shy and quiet, which will be a perfect addition to my little rune family, so far consisting of Deo, a hyperactive fez rune.
Where will you keep him/her:
She will have her turn in my sig, and my character thread if I ever get around to making one. She will also appear in stories that I write.
Would you like to breed him/her in the future:
Yep
Any Quirks:
Lila is incredibly fond of nature. She will often be found outside, looking for beautiful flowers and interesting creatures. She will climb up trees, squeeze herself into holes, and work her way through thorn bushes, all in the name of exploration. As a result, she knows the forest around where she lives like the back of her wing. After all of her exploration, however, she can become quite dirty. That’s where her second love comes in- baths. Lila absolutely loves baths, despite her feline appearance. She will stay in the warm water for as long as possible, coming out sparklingly clean. She is always clean before she appears at dusk or dawn, and will go to extreme lengths to make sure that she will so.
Other:
I hiked through the forest, my faithful rune Deo flying ahead of me. He had dragged me out here, for some unfathomable reason. It was getting dark, and the sky was lit up with a vibrant sunset. It looked as though an artist had thrown his most vivid colors into the sky, creating a work of art. Deoradhan flew through a curtain of ivy, whistling form the other side. I slowly followed him, my legs burning. This better be worth it, I thought to myself. We had been walking for hours, and I’m pretty sure that we had gone in several circles. I parted the ivy with my hands, and stepped onto a small open space. The ground fell away from the ledge that I stood on, the sheer cliff making me keep well back. The sunset lit up the sky, perfectly in front of where we were standing.
“Is this what you wanted me to see?” I asked Deo.
“Wait a second,” his chirp seemed to say. I grinned and ruffled his head, making sure to keep my hands away from the fez resting on top of it.
“Well, if you way so,” I acquiesced, settling down to wait. I didn’t have to wait for long, however. A flash of gold caught my attention and I sat up straight, nearly tumbling Deo from my shoulder where he was perched. He squawked indignantly as he repositioned himself.
The shimmer of gold flashed again, and this time I caught a clearer image. “It’s a rune,” I breathed to myself in awe. The rune was lovely, a beautiful purple tipped with pink, golden ribbons cascading from her. Deo and I watched her dance, enthralled. When the sun finally sand below the horizon she flew over to the ledge where we were sitting, appearing not to notice us.
“Hello?” I asked her. The rune had collapsed on the ground, compliantly worn out from her elaborate dance. She looked up, startled, and scurried backwards, only to trip over little Deo. She fell flat on her back and I walked over, gently righting her. She stared at me with wide amber eyes as I sat down in front of her. “Don’t worry,” I told her. “We’re friends. Are you hungry?”
She nodded, bobbing her head, ribbons fluttering. I reached into my pack that was sitting next to me. After living with Deo, I was always prepared to go anywhere, for any length of time at a second’s notice. I pulled out a few strips of beef jerky, a bottle of water, a couple of apples, and a small loaf of bread. Using my belt knife, I cut up the apples and tore the bread, dividing everything into three portions. Deo gobbled up everything as quick as possible, before falling asleep on my lap. I ate more slowly, as did the rune. She savored the slices of apple, and I saw delight flash in her eyes at every bite.
When we were both done eating and I had put everything away, I turned to the rune. “Would you like to stay with us?” I asked her hesitantly. “Deo really needs someone to calm him down, and if you don’t have anywhere else to stay…” I trailed off, waiting for her reply.
She gazed up at me with wide eyes, as if she couldn’t believe what I had just offered. Then she nodded her head vigorously, and climbed up onto my lap, next to Deo, but not touching. “I guess that’s a yes than,” I said, smiling softly. “But what should I call you? How about…Lila?” The purple rune nodded her ascent and drifted off to sleep.
I noticed the clear line that Lila had left separating the two runes. Deo rolled over, breaking the line and nuzzling up against Lila. I grinned as the little rune leaned against the bigger one, and the bigger rune let him, trusting him as family. I let my own eyes close and drifted off to sleep, content.
