Cato
° Why I chose this name:
Cato, pronounced "cay-tow", is a male name of Latin origin, meaning "all-knowing". I liked it for this reason,
but I mainly chose it for the character Cato in the Hunger Games.
° Nickname:
None. Give him one, prepare for pain.
° Personality:
Cato is short-tempered and reserved. He enjoys being in control and having others listen to him, whenever
he's around others. Half the time he keeps to himself, doing things his own way and on his own. When he is
in the presence of others, he has a natural aura of power; he's automatically the leader in most situations.
He's intelligent and quick, which helps with his quests.

° Short Story:
Cato strolled into the clearing, his yellow-green eyes glancing at each of the creatures assembled. They
looked at him, waiting, as he prowled past. He walked down the aisle, of sorts, the creatures on either side
of him. He reached the end and paused, his back to them. He could feel their eyes on him, burning into
his fur. He turned.
They looked at him almost eagerly, wide eyes fixated on him. Cato took a moment to rake his gaze over all
of them.
"What's happened?" he asked. Though his voice was quiet, it held a commanding tone in it. One of the creatures
stepped forward nervously.
"They're coming closer," it said; a male, with black fur. Cato faced it.
"How close?" he asked, locking eyes with it. The male glanced quickly to his right, at a female beside him.
She blinked at him encouragingly, and he looked back to Cato.
"As far as th-the stream," he answered, dropping his eyes. Cato stared at him a heartbeat longer and turned
to the female beside him for confirmation. The pale ginger female nodded.
"When?" Cato asked, an edge slipping into his voice. The two animals exchanged a glance while the rest watched
attentively.
"Most recently... early this morning."
Cato felt a growl deep in his throat and quickly put an end to it; it wasn't these two he was frustrated with,
and they looked nervous enough already. He nodded to them, and they sank back into the crowd. He began
pacing, thinking up what to do. All eyes were on him, and it was silent.
"Is there anyone out there now?" he asked, determined to get all the facts.
A murmur spread through the gathered creatures. The reply came from an old male with a graying muzzle.
"Yes."
"They know not to fight?"
A number of animals nodded, and Cato began pacing again. Just as he was about to speak again, he heard
a distant yowl. The others had clearly heard it, too, and were looking around for the source.
Cato angled his large ears towards the sound; more, quieter howls could be heard, but the one sound that put
all of the creatures into a panic was a long call that echoed through the thick trees- a warning call. After that
was silence.
"Calm it!" Cato snapped at the fearful creatures. They settled back down as best they could; he was the boss
here. "Now, we don't know what happened. Three of you, come with me. We'll investigate. If anything happens,
you know what to do."
Cato waited as three stepped forward; the male and female from earlier, and a younger gray-furred female.
Cato led them away from the group, who were chattering nervously. They quickly made it to the stream, where
Cato estimated the call had come from. At the scene before them, alarm bells started to go off in Cato's head.
"Run!" he snapped at the three, who dashed away into the trees. Of course. He should have seen it sooner; but
now it was too late.
-sigh- My story fails. I'll finish it later, once this movie's over.
