Name: Chim
Age (in human years): 7
Personality: Chim is a cowardly bully. He picks on smaller creatures, but the moment they strike back he turns tail like a scarred puppy. He is an oddball, doing strange things for attention, even negative attention.
Likes: Being noticed, pestering anything smaller than him, digging through the garbage.
Dislikes: Things defending themselves, his ears being touched, being ignored, and the cold.
History:
Chim, as they called him, the doberman with the strange pelt. He was an odd puppy, looking nothing like his mother or his father. Something about him just made his so different... Perhaps it was his reptilian like coat pattern, much like a snake's or a lizard's. His parents had been part of a junkyard guard dog team, left alone to roam together. Unfixed males and females put in with each other produced litters of puppies quite often. But it was more of a profit to sell the puppies, rather than get the parent's fixed. Chim was one such puppy that no one wanted, his unusual fur putting potential buyers off.

"What's wrong with him?" some would say. "Why is he so ugly?" Others would shout. But Chim didn't care what they said. He was just as lovable as he was odd. He would often do tricks to please the onlookers, one such occasion where he'd managed to get his head stuck in a tin can. But this is where he started to be a problem. He was too goofy and playful to be a protector, and thus, he was tossed out onto the streets.

Chim roamed as a stray for the first three years of his life, scavenging for scraps, digging through trash, and even attempting to eat small animals such as cats and smaller dogs. Though even as mean as he looked, he'd be the one sent packing once the other started to fight back. It was one fateful night, a rainy fall day. The rain was like ice on his short fur, and unable to find shelter large enough, he was soon feeling the confusion often associated with hypothermia. He headed out into the street, the sound of screeching tires was the last thing her remembered.

He awoke in a warm room, covered in a blanket. Covered in bandages... Hard thing hindering his movement. Strange tube attached to his skin. He was afraid, his vision blurred as he started to collect himself, finding himself behind familiar shiny gray objects. Bars, like the fences of his home. A cage, with friendly looking faces looking in on him.

"Look, he's awake..." The voice of a male graced his ears.

"Good... I was afraid we were going to lose him. Someone needs to call the man who brought him in." Drifting off again, this was the last voice he'd heard until the next morning. he'd been in recovery for two solid days, and he was feeling very sore.

"hey there big fella..." A soft voice caught his attention. The voice of an older man, around his 60's from the sound.

"I'm glad you're OK... After the boy hit'cha I thought you'd be a goner..." Chim gave a small whine, looking at him with his gentle eyes.

"you're coming with me, handsome boy... I could use the company now that my lady is no longer of this world..." He smiled, the veterinarian preparing him for the ride home. His road to recovery had started, both physical, and emotional.

The two have been inseparable ever since. Chim has proven to be a valuable companion for his elderly master, as his vision has begun to fail. Chim leads him around town, and fetching his every desire... An oddball like him had found a home, and a loving master. But in return, he has also healed the broken heart of a man mourning his wife.

(Sorry it's sad with a touching happy ending!)
