The Killer-------------------------------The Princess
The night of the Masquerade. It was the perfect night to go, donned in mask and costume, and kill innocent people. Especially the Princess.
I imagined her laying on the ground, in her gown and mask and beautiful hair, with a knife in her heart. It was my greatest dream, to kill her and make my master proud. I licked my lips.
I slipped on my purple traveling coat, whipped a black , semi see though blindfold around my eyes. My vision was slightly blurry, didn't need my sight to kill. I could sense people around me by their fear and scent. My fingers curled at the mere thought. After all, my master had plunged a dagger into my left eye years ago, removing some of my sight.
I headed to the masquerade. There were people of all sorts there, with odd colorful masks, feathered clothing, grotesque coverings, all the things you'd expect to see at a carnival like this. I wouldn't be able to see them,
well, of course, but I could smell food from the nearby stands.
I strolled through the pomenade, my dagger hidden safely inside my coat. I sniffed, searching for the princess. There she was. I could make out her shape though the dark fabric. She was dancing with some of the knights from the castle.
I slunk over. "Hello, Princess," I said, hoping to catch her attention.
She turned around. I stifled a gasp, amazed at her beauty. She had beautifully waved hair, a delicate headpiece on, and a deep purple cloak on. Her eyes were very beautiful, and they were complimented by her mask.
"Why, hello!" she said. "What brings you to speak to me, during the Night of Masquerade?" she asked. Her voice twinkled like the stars in the sky.
"I would like to speak with you," I said. "Come, it will be better where others can't hear us," I said.
She followed me curiously. I led her to a dark alleyway, away from the dancing and music. Taking out a sword, I banged her on the side of the head with the handle. She crumpled to the ground like a wilted daisy, knocked out.
"Perfect." My master had wanted to see her alive before I executed her. He doesn't like to get his hands dirty with blood.
I dragged her to the nearby woods, where I lived.

I opened my eyes. I gazed at my surroundings in puzzlement. Where was I? This was not my royal palace. My servant, Aileen, was no where to be seen. Instead, I was in a dimly lit stone shelter with bloodstains on the wall. I shivered on the cold floor.
I noticed a young main with dark hair and an eyepatch on the other side of the room. He had on a cloak. He seemed familiar... Then it clicked.
"You! You're the guy that knocked me out!" I gasped. "And then you brought me here!" I stood up, then headed toward his turned back, eyes narrowed, ready to hit him. My fist flew at the back of his head.
He grabbed my arm with his hand, not even turning around. "Temper, my Princess," he said with a sneer. "I
wouldn't want your time with me to be in anger."
"Fine," I growled, plopping down on the stone floor. "What do you want from me?" Perhaps he wanted me for ransom, to marry him, take over the kingdom... The list was endless.
"No reason," he said. Then he whipped around, his nose inches from mine. "Maybe because you're so... What's the word," he said, stroking my cheek with a gloved hand. "Beautiful."
I slapped his hand. "I'm getting out of here," I snapped. He pulled his sword from his sheath, baring his teeth. I rolled my eyes and pulled out a dagger. "Just because I'm a princess doesn't mean I can't fight!"
He put the sword back in its sheath. "No use arguing with you," He decided. "While you're here, I may as well introduce you to some.... Friends of mine. Then I'll let you go," he said.
"Okay," I replied. Then I narrowed my eyes, thinking it was some sort of trick. "What kinds of friends?" I asked.
"Oh, normal townsfolk. I want to brag with them that I met the Princess last night," he said.
"Very well. Lead the way."

I smiled to myself as I trekked though the woods. The clueless Princess had no idea I was going to kill her. And yet..... I felt regret. I had only known her for a short time. It felt wrong killing someone so noble and lovely.
She walked beside me in silence. "I never asked what your name was," she remarked.
"Kiba," I answered with a acknowledging wave of my hand. "You?"
"Lotus," she answered back. I smiled, feeling relieved I could finally stop calling her "princess."
I sniffed out the trail to my Master's castle. I had visited there many times, and followed the same trail I always did.
We walked through the trailing tendrils of bracken in silence. "Have you been courted by a prince before?" I asked awkwardly. I knew nothing about royal life, and felt strange talking about it.
"Oh, yes," answered Lotus. "You won't believe the odd people who show up asking for my hand in marriage. I had a puny boy around four feet tall propose to me before." I smiled blankly, not knowing why someone four feet tall asking for you to marry them was such a bad thing.
I stopped at the gate of the castle. "Here we are," I said. "My friend, a very handsome prince, lives here. He is very rich as well," I lied.
Lotus grinned. "Wonderful! I look forward to meeting him."
I walked through the dreary halls of my Master's castle. I could feel Lotus's unease as we stepped though the corridors. We finally stopped at the huge door with the brass knockers in the shape of Lion's heads, my Master's room.
"Kiba, I don't trust this place," Lotus whispered to me. "It's creepy."
I sighed, stroking her hand. It would be the last time we could touch each other. "I know. My friend has an odd taste in interior design."
I knocked. The doors opened. "Welcome, my servant," said a cold voice. My master. He sat on a black velvet throne, his eyes glowing in the darkness.
"Servant?" Lotus hissed into my ear. "I thought he was your friend!"
I ignored her. "Master, I have brought her to you, just liked you asked. Would you like me to take her life now?" I spoke.
Lotus gasped. "You traitor! All this time you were trying to kill me?!" she screeched. I glared at her.
"Bind her," my Master said. I obeyed him and bound her to the wall with steel chains. She struggled. I looked at her with sorrow. "I'm sorry," I whispered.
"Now is the time for death!" he roared. I whipped out my sword and held it to her throat. She looked deep into my eyes. "Is this what you really want?" she murmured, clutching my hand.
I dropped the sword. It fell to the floor with a clatter. "No," I said, looking at my Master. "I can't do this."
"THEN YOU SHALL PAY," he screeched. There was a flash of light, and everything was gone.

I looked over Kiba's body, trying to find a pulse. It was extremely weak, but I could feel it.
I had managed to escape the castle. Kiba had dropped his sword near my foot. I managed to kick it into the palm of my hand and use it to unlock the lock that held the chains that pressed me to the wall.
Kiba's master had used Dark Magic on him. He had fell to the ground and been knocked out. Usually, the spell would kill you, but Kiba knew Dark Magid too. He managed to save himself by summoning his strength before the blow.
I felt an intake of breath and saw his eyes flutter open. "Lotus," he murmured, reaching for a strand of my hair.
I bent down and pressed my lips against his. He closed his eyes. I did too, but it did not last. I pulled away.
"We have to get out of here."
Long chapter is long. I hope that will be enough for today X3
